Personality ⇒ Kyūtō is fairly friendly and gets along with just about everyone though he is quite soft spoken and quiet. He can have a very commanding presence if it is needed of him. He almost always has a small smile on his face. He is rare to anger as he is always calm and collected. Though if angered his wrath is as harsh and unforgiving as a hurricane.

Before Death
Kyūtō was born to a poor farming family in the Kamakura era of japan when samurais were just rising to power. Growing up Kyūtō idolized the samurai's strength and honor, he wished to become one when he was older. When Kyūtō was six he began secretly training in a clearing near his village. He would train until he dropped then he would train some more. Four years later when Kyūtō was ten his village was raided by bandits. When kyūtō arrived he was too late as his village was up in flames and his parents dead. Enraged and saddened at what had happened he picked up a dead bandits swords and rushed into the nearest crowd of bandits and began slicing and swinging his swords with deadly precision.
Kyūtō managed to take down a few bandits before he was subdued. Kyūtō though continued to glare and curse the bandits even with swords at his neck. The bandits, liking kyūtō's fire and spirit decided to bring him along, as a slave of course. So for the next five years Kyūtō served as the bandits slave doing everything they asked and sitting by doing nothing as they murdered, stole, and raped. Finally a few weeks before kyūtō was to turn sixteen the bandits he was a slave for were captured and arrested by the regions samurai. Finally free Kyūtō immediately went to the commanding officer and begged him to let him join their ranks.
At first the samurai were skeptical thinking that some no name slave wasn't really cut out to be a samurai. But when he demonstrated his meager skills the commanding officer saw his potential and inducted Kyūtō as an apprentice level samurai. So for the next three years he was taught how to properly wield a sword and was also taught Bushidō. The commanding officer of the samurais was proud of Kyūtō as well as shocked at how fast he learned and shot through the ranks. By the time Kyūtō was eighteen he was already Seieibushi, or Elite Samurai, in skill. Seeing this the man called Kyūtō to his office one night and told him he was sending him to directly serve the Shogun of the region.
When Kyūtō arrived at the Shoguns palace he was shocked at how laid back the man normally was, this caused kyūtō to relax and become close with the man seeing him as a second father. Under the shoguns tutelage Kyūtō rose another rank within the samurais becoming a Kodenbushi, or Legendary Samurai, in only two short years. Now at the rank of Kodenbushi his only rivals in power were shoguns and other Kodenbushi, which were few and far between. He wore his rank proudly as he served his shogun faithfully for five years before the man was killed in battle. Kyūtō was devastated and mourned for a couple weeks before he was called to the emperors palace. He was curious when he arrived and shocked when he left. The emperor had appointed him the new Shogun in his masters place.
Sadly Kyūtō wouldn't get the chance to show the fruits of his training. He only had the position for a month before he was assassinated by his brother disciple. As Kyūtō lay on the floor bleeding to death his thoughts strayed to his wife and child. He let the tears fall from his eyes at the thought of never being able to see them again. So with his dying breath he prayed to the gods to let his wife and child prosper and live long lives and bring swift justice to his assassin.

After Kyūtō died he awoke staring at his dead body which was found a few hours later. He was given a large funeral and people mourned for days. He spent the next few weeks watching over his family, wrapping his arms around them and letting them know he was there even if they couldn't feel him. He watched as his murderer was named the next shogun and was disgusted but he was happy that his family was safe. Finally a month and a half after his death a shinigami appeared to give him a konso. Before that however he went to his family and gave them one final goodbye. After that he was konso'd and woke again in one of better districts of the Rukongai. He looked around and smiled as the buildings reminded him much of his home village. For a year he wandered around helping anyone he could. After a year he was approached by some shinigami telling him he had the qualifications to become one of them. After weighing his options he agreed to become a shinigami so that he could provide help to even more people. So leaving the rukongai he began his adventures as a shinigami.

Zanpakuto ⇒
Zanpakuto Spirit: Arashi Taka is the zanpakuto spirit and partner to Kyūtō Ikari. He is every bit the opposite of Kyūtō in personality. Whereas Kyūtō is calm, collected, and strategic, Arashi is hyper, hot headed, and brash. Though despite their opposing attitudes they're the best of friends and work greatly in tandem with one another.
Arashi Taka | Sealed- Arashi Taka is a lightning based zanpakuto. In it's sealed state the blade is simple enough the end of the sheath capped in metal and emblazoned with a cloud. The tsuba is two slightly bent half circles with the end of the handle having a white tassel.
Release Command: Strike my enemies like lightning!
Shikai: ⇒ Arashi Taka [Storm Hawk] | Shikai - When Kyūtō activates his shikai he flips his sword into the air where it is struck by lightning. As it falls it separates into two straight swords with talon like tsuba and teal grips. With these he can much more easily do thrusting attacks with faster speeds, and with his element piercing becomes much easier.

Kirin no Tsuno [ Kirin's Horn ] - This move is as taxing as it is powerful. Slamming his twin swords together at the hilt he connects them via switching their polarization and making them magnetic. From the tips of the swords a string of electricity runs forming a bow. The arrow is formed by Kyūtō shooting a small bolt of his reiatsu into the sky. Due to his reiatsu having an electric nature to it it unbalances and excites the static in the air causing large amounts of electricity to build. Using himself as a beacon he summons the lightning down onto himself. The instant the lightning hits his hand it begins to burn his hand and overload his nerves. The longer he holds it the stronger it gets but at the same time the more damage it does to his arm. However the strength and speed of the lightning is as normal so if it hits it's quite deadly. The only reason Kyūtō can handle it for even a moment is because a bit of his reiatsu is infused into the lightning.

Bankai Form: Instead of using his twin swords he will simply construct a bow of pure lightning and reishi.
Raijū no Hōkō [Thunder Beast's Roar] - For this technique to activate Kyūtō must first mark his target by either touching them, flesh to flesh or just make a physical connection of some kind. Once the mark has been placed Kyūtō simply has to pulse his reiatsu to cause it to activate. The mark will then start to attract large amounts of static that naturally resides in the air to lash out and strike at the target. Should the target get hit the watered down lightning can cause muscle spasms and minor burns. However if Kyūtō has recently used his Kirin no Tsuno or there is a large amount of electricity nearby the mark will pull the electricity to a large area around the target making them trapped in a lightning storm. The major downside to this technique though is it's early warning. The hair on the targets body will stand on end and the air will smelt burnt as well as a faint little spark here and there.
Raijū Ni Natte [Become The Thunder Beast] - This technique is both a speed booster and an attack all in one. For this technique his swords will disperse into reishi before condensing around his arm up to the elbow. His hands will then have large claws like that of a Raijū which spark and surge with lightning. After charging his entire body with his electric type reiatsu he moves in the direction he wants to go. To everyone else it's like he becomes a bolt of lightning as the movement is instantaneous. The downside to this however is that he is blind while moving and he can only tell how far he's gone. Another draw back to the technique is that it can only be used eight times before his body can no longer take the strain and he dies.

Raijin no Tōrai [Advent of the Thunder God] - When Kyūtō activates his bankai he stabs his swords in the ground and holds his hand up to the sky where it is struck by lightning. When the lightning clears Kyūtō can be seen holding a spear. The spear is a total of six feet long with a foot and a half of that being a blade with the opposite end having a spike.

Kami no Kaminari [God's Thunder] - This technique is split into three different sub techniques each with their own pros and cons. They are labeled as Tenshi [Angel], Akuma [Demon], Ningen [Human]. Below are descriptions given by Kyūtō to his superiors when he discovered and trained in these techniques.
Ningen [Human] - In this form the technique takes the shape of a giant upper half of a medieval knight. The knight is composed entirely of lightning and mimics Kyūtō's movements, albeit slower then his actual movements due to size. In this form it's like being attacked by two people just ones a hulking mass of lightning. This form can also protect Kyūtō from harm however if someone can get within ten feet of him the armor can't act in fear of hitting Kyūtō himself. This form wields a large trident like spear and a buckler. The entire body is made of bright blue/white lightning while the eyes are a darker purple. [Sometimes before he is about to use this technique he will utter the phrase: "Anata ga shinu koto o shitte iru" (Know that you are mortal)]

Tenshi [Angel] - When Kyūtō uses this form the ethereal half knight behind him condenses and becomes a full suit of human sized knight armor composed of lightning. While using this technique Kyūtō becomes very durable and quick. He is able to move faster and his physical strength is doubled. In this form he also wields a spear however it seems to turn into a bolt of lightning with a refined tip. [As with human kyuto will sometimes utter a phrase before using this attack: "Seinaru hikari ni noboru" (Ascend to the holy light)]

Akuma [Demon] - This is the final stage of Kami no Kaminari. In this stage the knight completely disappears in favor of pure attacking power. All the lightning that composed the half knight, the suit of armor, and Kyūtō's spear is doubled then condensed into a single javelin of pure, raw lightning. When this is unleashed it wreaks supreme havoc. Kyūtō will hurl this javelin of condensed, compressed, raw lightning either directly at or near his opponent. For all intents and purposes this is an area of effect attack. As the javelin makes contact with anything is will first implode sucking anything within twenty feet closer before exploding into a brilliant show of destructive power. When Akuma explodes it is a giant dome spanning a diameter of three hundred feet. The dome not only has explosive power but anyone within twenty five feet of the edge of the dome runs the risk of being struck by stray bolts of lightning, any further away and the danger is reduced to small electrical shocks and large amounts of static. There are two different drawbacks to using this technique. The First is that if Kyūtō went in order and used Ningen and Tenshi before using Akuma then he will suffer exhaustion, be unable to move properly, and will be unable to use his bankai for thirty six hours and the arm in which he threw the javelin will be numb and unresponsive until he is medically treated or a day has passed. If he activates his bankai and uses akuma straight away however he will be exhausted but able to move, albeit slower then usual, and will only be unable to use his bankai for eighteen hours instead of thirty six, however the drawback for his numbed arm still remains even if he does it this way.[As with his previous two attacks he will sometimes say a phrase before using his attack: "Jigoku no honō ni kirawareru" (Fall from grace into the flames of hell)]

Agility:
Dash
A most basic technique that allows the user to throw him/herself to a certain direction using a certain angle of which way the the stance is directed and executed. Based on an individual's atributes, dashing can be quite a moderately fast move instead of running. Also depending on the distance, dashing can be quite useful if in closer range to the opponent. This technique is used by all ranks.
Air Walk
Another skill, though not necessarily related, is the Soul Reaper ability to walk on air using spiritual energy. By collecting and solidifying spiritual particles beneath their feet, Soul Reapers can gain traction on thin air to either freely move about or to stop themselves from falling. This particular ability can only be obtained from officer level. Furthermore, it cannot necessarily be used every so often, especially for officers. It is an ability that can only be temporarily used but cannot last for a very long period of time. However, for lieutenants, they can stay on air for quite a bit longer and for captains, it can be held for quite a long while considering the great amount of riatsu within a captain ranking individual.
Shunpo (Flash-Step)
A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. This technique requires a very high level of training, thus a most difficult one to obtain. One, who is of a high lieutenant ranking, must be able to possess Shunpo. Furthermore, it is a most fearsome mid-range/long-range speed known to be the exceeding ability than dashing. All in all, this ability can only be used by lieutenants and captains. For lieutenants it is nearly mastered, yet not perfected. Therefore, it is only of mid-range level 1. For captains Shunpo is of a level 2 maximum ability in which it is fully perfected for both mid-range and long-range.
