Cai

She did as asked, glad for the weavers speed at getting the job done. Even if she was 'wasting time' shopping, the thought of having clean new pants in a few days was enough to brighten her mood. She dug to the bottom of her satchel and counted out enough marks to cover the cost. Should she like the pants, she'd talk to the woman about possibly adding a lightweight top to the commission later. "Thank you."

She fastened up her satchel tight and turned to face the rest of the stalls. To Kleos she added. "I think I may have overestimated my funds today. This'll be all i'm buying for now. Do you still have business to attend?" If Kleos was mostly finished Cai would probably head back to the healers tents and pick up where she'd left off.

Smithhall Vendors

"Elegant. Gotcha." The Malvren based smith didn't even flinch at the mention of Benden. He'd seen the rider's marks and though he'd fled south with the rest of the Resistance, he still saw himself as more of the Smithhall and less of Malvren Weyr. If they were here then they weren't enemies in his book and Benden Marks were good enough for him.

His private thoughts were proven by the added tip and promise from the Benden Wingleader. "Thank you very much. Just a sec." It took no time for him to retrieve and arrange a handful of knives before him. They were belt knives as he'd said. Not made to be pretty but in the smith's opinion any freshly forged metal needed no decor to be beautiful. To make a woman feel safe, these would do better than any flimsy frilly dagger any day. The handles were made of two pieces of wood bolted solidly to the blade below the hilt. There was a slight variation in wood color and grain pattern and the smith slid a couple towards N'mol. "These I'd think work best for carving, but I'm no woodsy myself."

Tanners

He'd seen the woman walk up of course. Rider business had been fruitful to say the least for those of the Tanner trade. "2 Marks for the belts and 1/2 a mark for the pouch with it. Otherwise the pouch is 3/4 Marks." He nodded to himself, pleased with how the belt looked on her. The dark color of the stain almost echoing the sable shade of her hair. "I might be able to knock another 1/4 mark off of that though. It looks like I won't have to size that belt for you."

Z'fer
His half lidded eyes and lazy smile gave ample evidence to how much he'd needed to get away. Despite their little blow up earlier, he was happy to have her beside him. Even though she was only a weyrling and couldn't be considered for a serious relationship, she could actually be pleasant to have around. He wanted her of course, but he'd wanted plenty of women before and it was actually nice to just spend time with one that was of age, without all the drama off sleeping together.

His skin prickled as her hand found the scarring on his neck. It didn't hurt him anymore, having healed over ages ago but it was strange to feel someone caress it. Most of the time he even forgot it was there. Her attentions reminded him vaguely of another young redhead, C'rci the bluerider. She'd be out of weyrlinghood now wouldn't she? He'd have to see what would happen to those of Malvren who needed to be put into wings now...Faranth knows his own was flying light.

His thoughts were brought up short by the rumble of Calanoth's voice in his mind. ~ Quit thinking so loud mine... ~

~ Sorry Cal. ~ Z'fer gave a few silent chuckles as he turned his head into Hekate's hair. She was nothing like that other girl. Nothing at all.

"Something on your mind?" Hekate whispered with a gentle smile where she lay against his side just enjoying the peace and quiet of the day. Calanoth's rumble though was warning enough that his rider was thinking on something. What she didn't know, but it never hurt to ask as she paused in her gentle caressing letting her fingers run over the light five o'clock shadow that man wore.

"Or is it you just can't get over how lucky you are to have a pretty thing like myself in your arms?" She teased lightly her gold eyes sparkling with amusement even as Devith cracked one eye open to check on his rider. Rumbling his own amusement the silver half rolled stretching out like a large lazy silver feline with a yawn.

All and all despite her gentle play the red haired weyrling remained relaxed completely content with where she was even she slipped him one of her darker smiles as her hands caressed his cheek the pad of her thumb sliding gently over Z'fer slightly chapped lips before she slowly let her hand fall away.

[Carltis]

They did have one? Carltis brightened, but tried not to look too enthused. The harp, when it appeared, was a pretty thing; simple, no fancy frills. It might not be masterwork but the sound the older Harper got out of it was lovely all the same, a mellower tone than his old harp which had possessed a bright sort of a sound. Carltis frowned thoughtfully – the expression was twisted slightly by the fresh scar running down his face – and took the instrument, his large hands acting with surprising delicacy.

“Mmmmh....”

Having mostly forgotten that there were other people about he checked the sound of each string individuals and picked out a simple little tune. It was a nice little harp, and it was sturdy, and for one and a half marks it was a good deal; he could afford to get himself other things too.

“Yes, alright,” Carltis nodded, “I’ll take it.” Placing it back on the stall he reached into his purse for the correct money, happy enough with the price not to try haggling. Then looking down at Rochelle he grinned. “Looks like it really is my lucky day. Where now? Looks like those traders over there have got a big mixed bag of stuff, or there’s the smiths or the tanners?”

-------------
Marks: 3 and one half.
Purchases: harp
++++++++++++

[Xan]

“Thanks then; hope the rest of your day is good!” Xan grinned, passed over the marks and tucked her purchase under her arm as it was handed to her. Now then, where to next...?

-------------
Marks: 3 and 9/8ths.
Purchases: Small journeyman rug
++++++++++++

[Kleos]

The weaver took her measurements swiftly and professionally; with no complaints there or anywhere else Kleos handed over her money with a small smile. “Thank you; I look forward to seeing the finished work.”

Then turning to Cai she shook her head. “I think I shall walk around some more, perhaps try to meet with some friends, but I have no more real business. Please, if you have things to attend to don’t feel obligated to join me; it’s a rather aimless plan.” Cai had expressed something of a dislike for Gathers; she didn’t want to keep the young woman in a situation she found either discomforting or tiresome.

-------------
Marks: 5 and 9/8ths
Purchases: Feline skin, linen pants

N'mol

N'mol cast a cursory gaze over the blades the Smith hadn't selected, comparing blade length (all looked sturdy, as the man had promised) and the wood grain of the handles. He then took the Smith's choices into consideration, trusting that the man knew what he was doing based on his age and rank. Still, he said these were better for carving, and that was a chance for N'mol to pick up a little knowledge. He could see the difference in the hilts from the others. These were a bit more plain and the wood grain was not as apparent, so any shallow carvings would not be lost. He checked both blades as well as their hilts and then tapped the more honey-colored of the two handles. The blade work was good, and it was a good half-inch longer than the other premium choice. "This one."

He would have to consider picking up a knife frog from the tanners before he met up with Kindra again, but that would be his last stop. He couldn't afford to keep trusting that she was so distracted with shopping that she had forgotten about him.

Cetalese

"No, it fits perfectly," Cetalese said, knowing it was unlikely she would change weight enough for it to matter at any point in the near future. "If you would take off the extra 1/4 mark, I'll purchase the belt and the pouch, too." She lifted the slightly larger one she had been touching, turning it over and inspecting it very briefly. Goods were expensive in general, even here it seemed, but this was a purchase Ceta could get behind. If Eliza hadn't wandered off to look at shiny baubles, she probably would have made some kind of comment and tried to force Cetalese to buy the women's vest, too.

Cetalese did cast a quick eye over it, but really, she was a rider now. She hadn't even chosen to wear Gather garb today, but had come in her usual rider shirt, pants, and knots. The thought to dress for Gather had occurred to her, but... well, there was always another time. The vest would likely not get nearly as much use as the creator intended.

"Is that a fair deal for you?" she asked, returning her gaze to him.
