Oooh all really interesting choices but my vote is for the coffee shop. Small, quaint, romantic or mysterious... I could see this being versatile with limited need for research from those not familair with comics/manga....Though cosplaying does pose an alluring prospect as well... But defintely coffee shop!

I like the Comic Book Cafe the most. I don't think there has ever really been a comic book cafe, and it should be fun.

A Glass Passenger Sachie Whitby I like any of them except for the Comic Books and not just because the others seem like a good opportunity for me to make pixel food for you to sell and make money for the ball at the same time. I just think that the comic book appeal is more limited or more accurately, everyone has their favorites and isn't going to want to talk about a series they've never read. The last thing I finished reading was Bakuman and before that Beck. I'm currently reading Übel Blatt. I'll probably pick up either Amatsuki, Annarasumanara, Seven Shakespeares, or Bartender next. Okay, who has read any of those and wants to have a geeky conversation about comics with me? I watched Beck. Amazing. I've read the manga version or more accurately scanlations of the manga version that I saved and reread again recently. I really should pick up the actual volumes when I have more free cash.

Every time I've read it, I've felt like the manga books need to come with a soundtrack so that you can play that during all the concert scenes.

Another funny thing is that the dub is just as good, if not better than the original, and the music is much better in the dub.

Another funny thing is that the dub is just as good, if not better than the original, and the music is much better in the dub. I have no real aversions to dubbed anime. It's not the same to me as a dubbed version of a live action movie as frames of animation cells do not have voices of their own. If an animation is done right, they'll record all the voices first then animate so that the mouth and voice synch up.... but when you're dubbing to a different language, that is never going to be an option so the voice actor has to try to make what they're saying match lip movements and not sound unnatural thus would be more difficult. The last time I heard bad English dubbing was Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4. I still own DW3 as thankfully, there was a Japanese language option so that you can play the game in Japanese with English subtitles. [It would be more accurate to have them all speaking Mandarin as it takes place in Ancient China, but you cannot be too picking.] I ended up giving away DW4 and haven't tried playing any of the ones since. I swear that Koei "hires" is voice actors by just grabbing random people in the office and telling them to go overact. The dubbing for the Japanese version is probably equally bad, but I don't speak the language thus cannot tell.

BWAHAHA THIS WILL BE THE FIRST OF MANY HOST CLUB AFFILIATES. <3
Anyway, I think this is a great idea! I love pretty much all the themes. I couldn't really pick one, but for the record, I voted. Yep.
And, just to let you all know, I'm all for helping out. This honestly sounds so amazing. <3

Well, we did send out an announcement so hopefully most people have seen it and voted. I'd be okay with closing the poll tonight, if you were, if not then I'd give it only one more day. It'd be nice to have the thread open for the weekend (though that means getting graphics for it too.)
Good thing I have 4 days off to work on art for it!
Do you have a list of moderators in mind to keep an eye on the thread?
A Glass Passenger So, how long should the poll run?

Haha xD It could be anyone from the advertising committee (or others) that is going to hang out a lot in the thread and moderate it while you're away or offline. I'll be one ^__^
