For those who may not have heard, Nintendo Power is going to seize production sad I was never a fan of it but it's still an ancient gaming magazine and it was awesome, it's kind of sad that it died sad

yeah, it seems the publisher or something is discontinuing it and Nintendo is not interested in either renewing the contract nor thinking of other formats like digital or something, they also don't want to publish it themselves.

Sad to see it go, but it's not very surprising. Between the growing number of systems, the... less-than-stellar reception of the Wii and the fact that most games are cross-system titles (that Wii gets rarely gets sooner than months after their initial release), it's not really surprising that it came to this; a magazine - already a threatened medium - dedicated to a single system is already a tough sell. One dedicated to a company that seems to be falling behind is financial suicide.
It's too bad; I used to read Nintendo Power all the time, but I'd take a lot of other magazines over it, now.

I loved Nintendo Power.
Sure, it was pretty bias,
but magazines like GameInderper have the whole "NINTENDO SUX" attitude, and that miffs me.
I dunno.
I haven't had mych time for gaming these days anyway,
otherwise I'd probably subscribe to Edge....

Game Informer's alright, but I don't love it. sweatdrop I guess I love it enough to subscribe to it.
