I am trying to find names for boys and girls in Japanese, Greek, and Italian for a set of storys that I am hoping to put togeather. I will be looking for more nameing patrens as the project progresses. Any way was dose it seem so hard to find names for boys! All of the web sights that I have looked at so far have an over aboundents in names for girls but are lacking in names for boys!

I generally do one of two things when I'm looking for a name. One is search the internet for them, ex Old English Boys Names and see what results I get. If I can't find any I like, I usually have found a hundred other names I do so I try to find out what my favorites out of that list mean and try to merge them together. The other thing is I go through history and myths of whatever language I'm looking for to try to find a hero or a god that I can name them after, and I always make a point of making sure that the personality of the character matches whatever/whoever I'm naming them after. To me a characters name should be a reflection of their personality so in my eyes just by reading their name I should know something about them. But usually if I do name them after something I try to explain where the name comes from. Hope that helps!
