Houndoom:
Your brother is such a pain in the neck. You, being the older one, have more "responsibilities," and it's always "do this," and "do that." You can never catch a break.
Yet that little snob you call your brother. He can just laze around, not having to worry about anything because "he's still young and doesn't know anything."
Ugh, yah right. He knows plenty well how to annoy you. He complains when you eat more (you're BIGGER, ok?), when you try to comfort him (whining about a thorn in his paw. HOW TRAGIC), and when you do just about, well, anything.
Even during training, when he asks you to help him, he ends up whining and throws a fit when you attack him a just a little bit too hard, the pansy. You've just about had it with him!

Houndour:
Ughhhhhhhhhh, you've had it with your sister. Just because she's bigger and older, she thinks she can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. She always treats like a little pup, taking your food and patting your head (rather forcefully), and she always makes fun of you when you try doing something "grown-up", according to her. And training... you don't even wanna talk about it. She always ends up using you as a punching bag, and when you try to stand up to her, she ends up beating you to a pulp. You can barely stand her anymore!

Prompt:
These siblings are nearing their breaking point, but it's up to you to decide what happens! Describe an important event that occurs in their lives, and how it affects whether they choose to stay together and work on their differences or split apart, to never see each other once more, except in battle.

(The houndour/doom can be played as either gender, regardless of what the above uses.
You can control both characters in your response. However, please note that the winner of the second pet does not have to change his or her pet to match your story, and vice versa. Please work together to the best of your abilities to settle on a history that works for the both of you.)

Have fun!

Response: She doesn't get it, she just doesn't understand! Little Sabola doesn't like training with his sister. She's much too rough and she's always too busy to listen to when he tries to explain it to her.

One day he was out on a walk alone when suddenly he was attacked by a great big snake! Sabola fought bravely though he was loosing embarassingly quickly. He couldn't react fast enough to the quick strikes of the snake.

As he lay infront of his enemy as it rose to kill him... A shadow leaped over Sabola, knocked the snake into the bushes and chased after it. Sabola blacked out, but not before catching the sight of his sister chasing that snake away.

As time went on they still fought endlessly, but sometimes they actually got along. Because of that they tried to work out their differences in a long uphill battle.

Name: Smoke
Gender: Female

Response: "Come on!" Smoke glared at her whiny little brother after using a weak ember attack, "I wasn't even trying," she slowly approaches the little Houndour. "If that hurts, HOW would you be able to survive alone? There are stronger Pokemon out there, ready to pick on weaklings like you." she turns around, still give her brother a piercing gaze.

"Liar!" the Houndour ran up to his sister, "You're trying! I'm training, not battling!" he then stopped a few feet behind her, realizing she's ignoring him. "Fine! If your not going to help me train... I'll go train by myself!"

"Hah! Good luck with that." Smoke nonchalantly walked back to their cave, pretty confident Houndour will return home.

"Grrr..." He growled at his older sister, "Smoke, you're the worst sister ever!" Houndour ran off into the forest, trying to hold back tears.

"Hmm..." Smoke is pacing back and forth near the entrance of the cave they live in a few hours after the argument, "Where is he..." she was slightly worried. She looked around the forest; then, a sudden flicker of a flame was coming from somewhere near the lake. "What has he gotten himself into..." Smoke quickly ran to the location of the flame. When she arrived, she saw something horrible; two Golducks were picking on Houndour! She leaped into action, "YOU TWO STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" she growled angrily at the water-types.

"What are you doing here?" Houdour asked, fear could be heard in his voice. The little Pokemon was covered in scratches.

"Saving you, that's what." Houdoom quickly replied before a shield appeared before the two, stopping an aqua tail.

"What was that move?" Hourdour stared at the shield,

"It's protect. I could've taught you that move if you didn't always whine." When the Golduck landed after using an aqua tail; Smoke grinned. Her fangs where charged with electricity, then she ran up to one of the Golducks and bit his arm.

"Oh! I know that!" Houdour's fangs also were charged with electricity before he pounced the bitten Golduck and gives him a second electrical bite.

"You're doing great so far!" Smoke praised her little brother after releasing the Golduck from her powerful jaws. The Golduck couldn't take the attacks anymore; he jumped into the lake before they paralyze him. Smoke then glared at the other Golduck, "Hmm... What will you do? Run away likr your friend, or become our dinner for tonight?" she teased.

"Uhhh..." The Golduck looked around, then he dove into the lake.

Houndour lets out a small giggle, then turned to his sister, "Speaking of dinner... What's for dinner tonight?"

Smoke looks in the direction their cave is, "Lets come home and find out. I'll even let you have seconds tonight."

"Really!?" Houndour happily jumped around his sister, then something he realized something, "Don't you always have more than me?"

"Consider it a prize for finally learning how to use thunder fang."

"Oh, okay!"

The two then walked back to their cave and ate. A few hours later, Houdour started to whine, "Too... Much.. Food... My tummy hurts!"

"Now you know why I always have more," Smoke took her brother's leftovers, "I have a bigger stomach."

"Oh..." Houdour finally understood why she always ate more. He crawled tiredly off to his rock, "Good night..." he tiredly said then dozed off into a deep sleep.

Smoke smiled; maybe her brother wasn't that bad after all? She shrugged and continue to eat her dinner.

Additional Notes: I'm terrible at names. XD
Alternate Ending (Just for fun XD)

Smoke smiled; maybe her brother wasn't that bad after all? She shrugged and continue to eat her dinner. Once she finished her dinner, she walked outside the cave, there were two Golducks. The two who attacked her littler brother. "Hey there," she greeted the two, "Thanks for helping me teach my brother. I apologize for the harsh attacks. It had to look convincing."

"No problem..." the bitten Golduck replied, he was really hurt.

"Here, have some berries." Smoke walked into the cave and carried a bag full of berries when she returned. "Now hurry; leave before Houndour wakes-up." The Golducks nodded and carried the bag of berries back to the lake. Luckily, Houndour was still sleeping, snoring very loudly too.

Pokémon: Houndour
Name: Hakon
Gender: Male
Response:
Life as a houndour pup was blissfully as playful as Hakon thought it would be as soon as he could breathe fire and the like. Granted, it was still weak, but he thought it was the coolest thing in the world. His totally childish attitude of acting like an adult got on his older sister's nerves. He did not care, he got off of a lot of things he did in his daily life and hated with a passion that Tekla, his sister, stole food and used him cruelly. He appealed to his parents, but it was not successful, despite his cute act. He thought intently on how to draw attention towards himself, and not just being his sister's little brother.

On the day of their sibling training sessions, Hakon thought he'd pull a prank before it occurred once more. The cruel, session beatings by Tekla. He came up with the plan of doing something against something his sister valued, making it less valuable in his opinion. As he entered her room, he searched for her most precious object, charring it pretty badly. He fled the scene, going to their normal training grounds. Tekla entered her room, instantly smelling her bother was there at one point, although briefly. She glanced around, noticing one of her things charred pretty badly. She sniffed at it, debating what it was for a few minutes to confirm her gut feeling. A mass of fury entered her heart, easily seen in her eyes. She quickened her pace to go to the training grounds to find Hakon already there.

The young pup gulped a bit, his fear was higher than previous times they fought together under the pretext of "training." He could clearly see she found out about his stupid prank. On guard, he prepared for the worst and was not disappointed to find his sister using the most harsh attacks to begin with. A moment passed after the first attack, she growled lowly, "Why must you always act like a spoiled brat?!" He grew instantly irritated that she was looking down on him like some little pup still, "And I could say the same to you! You always do things that bother me." Tekla growled lowly, attacking without mercy again, her brother unable to guard properly so he took the full damage. She snorted, "If you don't like it, why don't we just settle things after ten days. You can practice as much as your puppy body can handle and I'll be off on my own." Hakon did not have to think long about this, agreeing with Tekla, "Fine. Then at the rocky cliffs a few miles from here, ten days from now." He limped off, a bit weakened by his sister's attack. He was helpless most of the times against her, but this time was more intense as far as pain was concerned. As she watched the injured pup go off on his own into the wilderness, she regretted very slightly in her heart that she went so far against him. However, she denied herself to fully feel the regret by covering it up with excuses.

Tekla moved to a slightly rocky area, located near a small, clear pond; it took two days to get there full dash. The first day she had, she worked on building herself a shelter and finding bits of meat to chew on while she was on her break, which she took quite often. The houndoom felt really pleased with this lifestyle since she could eat all she wanted to and no one was going to complain aside from her stomach from binge eating. Another day passed, Tekla decided to build some targets and post them around in varied locations, to improve her agility while attacking. Finding it slightly difficult to produce good quality targets was slightly not what she had in mind, but assumed they'd work best.

Hakon went off into the forest and slumped next to a tree trunk for the majority of the second day, unable to move far from the spot he fought with his sister. As he rested, local pokemon gathered around the pup, picking him up cautiously after noticing he was injured. A furret slithered to put a bit of food together for the pup to recover his strength when he awoke. "Hnn.." the young houndour pup shifted in his sleep, his body unconsciously not use to the bed he was placed in. Slowly, Hakon opened his eyes to spot four looming pokemon over him. As a natural instinct towards his sister, he jolted up and ruffled a bit of his fur. The bayleaf chucked a bit as the cleffa zipped behind a pidgeotto, "Easy, it's okay. We've made you some food to recover from your wounds." As the bayleaf spoke, he calmed down, smelling the oran berries the furret brought over to him. Hakon, unable to turn down their offer since they did technically save him from any other horrible pokemon in the forest, ate the berries and stretched. Then, he sat and decided to ask them for him with his training, "My name is Hakon and I have a favor to ask." They all stared curiously at the pup, deciding to go along with it for now, the furret spoke up, "Well, what is it you need us to do?"

The furret's question slightly surprised Hakon, after-all, he did not intend for the fight with his sister to go on so deeply, "I have an older sister, a houndoom. And in a few days time, we are suppose to fight a settling match. We each have our own flaws.. But her's are definitely more so than mine." He said quickly, unable to admit that he had pretty big flaws inside of his character. The pidgeotto paused a few moments, sighing soft, "So it means to say, you want to train with us for this all important match?" The other pokemon stared at the bird quite curiously, always amazed on how he picked up on certain things. Hakon nodded at his words, muttering a small please.

With the group there to train him, Hakon's life style got pretty hectic; over the next few days he trained so intently with the group on for the sole purpose of defeating his sister. The night before he needed to leave for the location, he wondered what his life would be like after he succeeded in his strife. "Will I be able to eat all I want? But that would mean not getting so much attention from mom and dad.. And will sister finally acknowledge me as more than just some kid sibling? I do not want to lose that connection so easily..." his endless worries turned to doubts about his life. He had noticed changes in his everyday life-style without his sister. However, the fretting soon ceased as he fell asleep.

Tekla began to think of differences in her future life-style as well, all befitting if she would win. She wondered if Hakon would finally just stop acting like some bad impression of an adult. Or if he would stop pulling his pranks. Even to the point of wondering if he would stop whining and being a brat over food. A sharp pain inflicted her heart, unsure if she really wanted this anymore. Her worries over Hakon had been growing daily; her slumber uneasy with the last image she saw of him. "Surely he is alright... Right?" she asked herself, laying down in her make-shift bed to be well rested for the fight ahead; only being a day from the location anyways.

Hakon, being farther away of course, had to leave two days before the ten day time was up. He thanked his friends for all they've done for him and they packed him a few good bye gifts. As he began on his way with the small sack, he was unsure if he really had gotten stronger or not. Excitement began to overwhelm him as he ran with all his might. A day's time passed, the houndour about half way there. He took out only one of the berries from his pack and ate it, wanting to make sure he had enough for breakfast as well. He curled up in a dark tree trunk by the base of the cliffs, wanting to get proper rest before he had to climb. Tekla, on the other hand, made plans to leave that day and get there right on time; like she always was, of course.

As the siblings headed towards their self-proclaimed fated battle, the atmospheres between the two were as different as night and day. Tekla grew more scared and almost in a frenzy about the whole ordeal. Hakon's attitude was all cheerful and determined. As luck would have it, the two entered the cliff side from different sides. Tekla sighed a bit in relief that her brother was alright; however, Hakon took it as if his sister was provoking him and growled intensely. Regretting her slight slip of attitude, she took a stance quickly for his on-coming attack. It hit and was dealt proper damage to his sister; feeling proud of his own attack, he jumped back, nearing the edge pretty well. Tekla, embarrassed she let personal feelings within a match, decided to attack him back; although, she hesitated and the attack was not as powerful as it normally would have been. Her heart ached in pain just from the mere thought of hurting him more than intended, now and in the past.

The blow, while weak, still knocked Hakon off his feet, tumbling off the side of the cliff. The houndour, shocked at his common stupidity, flailed in the air, as helpless as any other small pokemon faced with a sudden turn of events. As soon as she spotted her sibling on a far cliff below, she breathed a sigh of relief to herself, having been shocked as well. "Stay there! Don't you dare move," her sharpness had returned, this time, for the protective need to rescue Hakon. Understanding, he shifted tighter around the rocks, having lamely hurt himself in the process of falling. He wagged his tail after seeing Tekla pick him up in her mouth and jump down to a few safe zones until they got to the pathway miles below their battle ground.

It took a moment before Tekla knocked him on his head, as payment for being stupidly worried about him. Hakon, understanding he was still a kid in some rights, muttered, "Sorry... I didn't want it to happen like this..." She sighed, smiling rather tenderly, "It's alright... I've also been thinking about how I've treated you, and I'm sorry." He perked up, rather pleased to hear her say such a thing to him. Tekla nuzzled him up upon her back as they headed home, each understanding a little bit more about their sibling.

The next day, despite what happened, Hakon returned to whining about Tekla eating his food all the time. "Seriously.. I just don't understand you!" he cried, dashing off to pull some childish prank to get her back. Tekla paused a moment, wondering why the turn of events did not change much between them. Her thoughts were interrupted by the smell of something burning, instantly she charged after where the houndour walked and began to bully him as she normally would, thinking to herself, "Ah well, he deserves it." The houndour struggled to get away from his sister, although the attempt was futile. The two siblings, while their love was twisted, they surely had a unique, fiery relationship.

Additional Notes: Sister's name was randomized. =x= Andddd... "This is madness!" 'Madness...? This is Spartaaa!' Took a long time to write. orz. /also didn't intend for it to be super long.
Sorry... ;x;

Pokémon: Houndoom
Name: Reaper
Gender: Male

Response: It was yet another one of their training sessions. Reaper rolled his eyes, as his little brother, the houndour, gnawed at and drooled all over one of his arms. He lifted the arm up, bringing his brother dangling with it. The brother's jaws slipped, and he fell to the ground.

"Hey! Why'd you do that for?" cried the little brother.

"To show you that what you call your 'bite attack' is more like a slobber attack." As if to illustrate, a particularly large wad of drool dripped off Reaper's arm.

"It's just because you're like a bazillion levels higher than me! How am I suppose to compete with you when you have stronger moves than me!" He pouted, as if that would cause his older brother to go easy on him.

"I train, so I can have strong moves! You know what, how about this-- we go and seek out another houndour around your level, so you can compare who's stronger without the level difference. I never brought this up before because I thought you can't handle an actual battle, but since you're so confident that you're strong--"

"Yeaaah! That's more like it! I'm going to beat them down before they even know it, you'll see!" He grinned.

They didn't have to go far for a worthy opponent, as they lived in the middle of a houndour/houndoom pack. Reaper chose a friendly looking female houndour, a bit smaller than his brother. The first houndour they sought out was more than happy to battle.

The little brother started off with howl. It was horribly off-key. Everyone nearby either ran away, or covered their ears. If Reaper wasn't afraid his little brother would be beaten with one attack, he would have ran too.

His opponent grimaced, "Ugh, what was that, a wailord call?"

"No! It's my--" The houndour had to stop talking, as the most disgusting fumes reached him. He gasped for fresh air, but all around him was that putrid smell. He ran around the grass, looking for a breath of fresh air. The running around worked to the little brother's advantage, as the female houndour's attacks missed when she was chasing after him and trying to attack at the same time.

"OH. GAWD. Did she just fart at me?!"

"Go attack her! You're in a battle!" Reaper groaned. If his brother couldn't keep focused on the battle, he was going to lose his first match.

"Oh, right!"

Reaper hid his muzzle in his paws and gave an exasperated sighed when his brother started biting the other houndour. Not this again.

She stopped in her tracks and stared in disbelief at her opponent. She wasn't quite sure whether it was an attack.

"Are you trying to eat me?" She bit him right back, hard.

The little houndour yelped and whimpered, "That hurts!"

"That's what you call a bite attack!" She was pleased with herself.

"Okay, I can't watch this any more," Reaper began trotting over to save his little brother from the scary girl. He stopped when his brother pounced on the girl. It seemed the battle was not over yet. The little houndour was biting her back, clearly out of anger this time, but he was doing damage!

She yelped. "Ah! Okay! I give! You win! Please, no more slobber. I have to go wash my fur out, now."

"I win?" That was the only word that restrained the little houndour from another bite. "Did you hear that, brother? I won my first match!"

Reaper smiled. Maybe there was hope for this one, after all. It just took a little help from a little girl. "You sure showed me! Remember that smog move that girl did? We'll work on that one, okay?"

"That move was horrible! I'd like to not be on the receiving end of that one next time." The houndour and houndoom returned home to practice stinky moves for the rest of the day.
