I suck at it. And every time I try a new recipe I make myself sick.
I just tried stir fry yesterday, and it was delicious, but all day today my insides have been in pain.
I can't tell if it's because of the stir fry or the seaweed and shiracha sauce I had for dinner.

Significant other is a chef, I get stuck with all the clean up. XD His food is amazing though and thanks to him, I make an incredible risotto. heart
I'm going to guess the overall combination with the main offended being the shiracha sauce. >>

Your poll made me think of this. Also, I enjoy cooking, and unless I'm nervous about something, I have good fortitude; food doesn't make me sick.

here's what we had last night:
parboil a split chicken breast with enough for everybody
halve some white peaches
make a sweet-sour sauce; i used wine and ginger and a little raspberry jam
boil a pound of green beans with some salt 20 minutes. add 8 ounces of whole grain pasta and boil another ten minutes.
while that's boiling, braise the chickens with the peaches and sauce until the fruit is soft and hot and the chickens are browned.
toss the beans and pasta with olive oil, whole leaf oregano, grated papper and parmesan.
enjoy!

Mouthwatering! But a little more difficult than frying a bunch of eggs and sticking them on toast. I just came back from this thing where one of the guys slaughtered a cow and then cooked it up on his chuck wagon for us. Some of the most delicious steak I've ever had.

yes, lea; this will sound very barbaric and un-vegan, but the freshest meat is always the best.
that is why the only place to enjoy a "shore dinner" is really at the shore, or near the lobster pots or clam flats.
here is a simple taste treat for August: heat the oven to 350 degrees F, slice a big zucchini in half lenghtwise, scoop out the seedy part, rub the inside with salt, fill it with spaghetti sauce and bits of mushroom and sausage, and cook for 30 minute (a baking dish will prevent mess).
then sprinkle it with shredded cheeses and let it bake another 5 minutes.
I like to spike mine with a little tabasco or powdered cayenne, but individual tastes may vary.
