FiaNari
Because really N(fill in the blanks) is supposed to mean ignorant or something like that, not really be directed towards a minority.

It's a rarity that the intention of the creater be taken into account pertaining somethings use, is it not?

It's basicly reffering to something of a lesser standing, yes, however nowadays its reffering to the black community in a negative fashion.

Now it means that or is taken in such way. But a lot of slurs are distortions of a nickname or abbreviation, however since I don't want to offend I won't analyze that in depth.

Analyse away if you feel the need, there aren't really any restrictions to be honest as long as you can justify you're use of a word.

Ok:
WOP: Slur for Italian, came from WithOut Papers, a lot of immigrants into America without papers tended to be Italian so this slur stayed.
w*****k: Used to demean Mexicans, it refers to the river that separates Mexico and the States, in other words it's the assumption that they are illegal immigrants again. ThusaMexican to cross borders must have gotten his back wet, so this is how this slur was born.
Gringo: As crazy it may seem, Gringo in the hispanoamerican world has come to mean from "American", to "foreigner", to "white", to "non hispanic". Actually it is meant only for Americans. It comes from when the Mexicans and Americans were at war long time ago. The Mexicans knew very little English, save for "green"for their uniforms and "go". So this got combined to mean "invader leave", at the time, and has taken 1,000,000 new meanings. Usually referring to North Americans and Europeans.
There are several other examples I could go into. Some I don't know to well, but I know a lot get developed during wars too.

Oh I thought "green go" referred to the colour of the dollar, paid to leave...
