Almost all who knew the dome had known Alnette. The long time veteran of the Battledome had fought often in the past, quickly making a name for herself. Though lately, she rarely fought, she still had popped in from time to time.
But no longer... Alnette had been slain.
Her cousin, the necromancer Rhea Byrne had been close to her cousin, and not far from the Battledome grounds, had erected a small memorial, for people to pay their respects. A single red rose was all that lay there at the moment, however.

crying
Oh, please don't feel guilty It was just my time to go. I see you are still feeling sad, And the tears just seem to flow. We all come to earth for our lifetime, And for some it's not many years I don't want you to keep crying You are shedding so many tears. I haven't really left you Even though it may seem so. I have just gone to my heavenly home, And I'm closer to you than you know. Just believe that when you say my name, I'm standing next to you, I know you long to see me, But there's nothing I can do. But I'll still send you messages And hope you understand, That when your time comes to “cross over,” I'll be there to take your hand.

An encumbered man stood over the memorial, the cross heavier than most would remember, inclusive to its bearer. Pensive silence, a ruminating gaze he could only commit his remaining eye to. A piercing lack of words cut into the better of an hour uncounted, until what some would have begun to assume a statue at last produced a familiar, spherical vial from his coat, long rid of its red vulnerary solution, replaced with water and a few crimson poppy flowers. A resettling of the dust among his gloved hands would keep the remembrance upright. His only eye settled among the memorial again, then turned to the next one, heavy march to pay his respects to an old friend.

Visher stood looking over the memorial with the Battle Dome to his back casting a heavy shadow this day, He quickly let out a punch into a nearby tree knocking the bark and a few leafs into the air.. ".. God damn it.. Alnette. I thought we agreed Immortal meant.." Not known for his wonderful work with words he stood thinking, of anything he could. ".. First Remus.. Now you? I would say something but I've had this kinda thing happen to me for longer then I care to remember, You and Remus.. and the Others. Why am I always the one to see them go? Why am I always the one left in the end.."
Visher kneeled down and thought to himself, Remembering the years gone by..
"The Heaven's have fallen with Mars and Remus, Hell has fallen with the Necropolis and Alnette, her Baroness.." He stood with a sad but proud look in his eye. ".. I stand here today to keep that Memory! To keep that History! To keep those years past of Love, Hate and Sorrow among us, To remember those who have fallen in this land. The Battle Dome stands with Me, not as a looming arena but as a Home and a Tribute to them!.. Maybe one day, I'll see ya again in the depths to make up for it.."
He grabbed one of his blades and impaled it into the ground next to the Memorial.
"Heh.. You'd think this to be the funnest thing ever, I met a Girl, An Immortal. A Reaper of all things. If ya meet her down there, I'll tell her who you are. I know you could handle yourself but it's the best I can do right now beside pay my respects. I'm sorry 'bout all the the things I've said in the past."
"The Immortal King, The Imperator Machine and The Succubus Queen.. Let their story be remembered this day and on!"

Drathi's cheerful mood from being able to visit for the first time since he arrived in Greenland disappeared when he saw the memorial. At first he was speechless; this had to be a joke. Last time he had spoken with Alnette, he said he was going to visit her, whenever he got the free time.
"...but not like this," he said with a frown. His hands trembled as he tried to find his strength. He thought he had buried his feelings for her a long time ago. He sat down in front of the memorial, the air growing colder around him. "I don't know what to say, Alnette."
He stood up, looking back with a solemn look on his face. "Goodbye, Alnette... I--" He shook his head. "I think you knew already." And with that Drathi began the long walk back to Greenland.

The Supreme Imperator waited for the others to leave. His face would not have been welcome among them. So, a few were still around. It was odd, it felt good to see familiar faces. Still, it was better not to let them see. His presence alone might be seen as a mockery to the recently deceased.
Once the other Domers had cleared out, Rom stepped up to the Baroness' memorial. He looked down at the stone, deep in thought for some time.
"Goodbye, Baroness. I regret that my brother Remus is not here to pay his respects. I suppose he'll meet you in whatever realm you go to after death."
Rom reached into his pocket and pulled out a gold insignia. Gold laurels with the letters SPQR at the base. They were once displayed proudly on Remus' chest along with several other medals. The Supreme Imperator flicked them upward and it landed perfectly among the other mementos people left behind.
"I shall be going now, Baroness. I doubt I will visit again." With a smart about-face, Romulus turned to leave.

Amanes was next to walk up to the memorial though she wasn't the only one who ended up walking up with her. Most of the Nostros family had shown up. Helios had been surprised and sadden by the news. He was the one that knew Alnette the longest. He had enjoyed talking to her and the prank war that they had against each other.
Garlana had also had enjoyed talking to the Baroness and she was the one that actually introduce her to Discord when she was trying to figure out a way to make her machines more life like and act more like a living being. As for Amanes and Kaspar the two actually talk with her and Discord from time to time. It made for interesting discussions to say the least and the battles in the dome always turned interesting for whoever in the Nostros family was facing the Baroness.
Three magical people of the Nostros family started to speak in ancient elven. Soon flowers that represent friendship and peace sprung up around the memorial. The family hope that Alnette has a peaceful afterlife maybe one day they will meet her again in the next life.

Xiomara bent down to one knee at the memorial, a sign of loyalty at respect she wouldn't dream of doing for anyone else. Not willingly, at least. But she'd always respected Alnette. It had been awhile since they'd last spoken, but she'd always assumed the Baroness was busy with her own duties. Now, she was simply...
"Alnette, you could be vain, manipulative, and downright devious. You were also loyal, kind, smart. You really had guts. They can say anything about you, but they can't say you're forgettable or ordinary. It's a shame you had to go so soon."
With that, she stood up, nodded her head once in a sign of respect, and left.

(( crying Why? crying ))
A black shape crept quietly into the memorial, clinging to the shadows discreetly. A single, perfect drachm appeared next to the rose and other tokens visitors had left. The shadow smirked, recognizing who some of the gifts were from.
"For Charon," the shadow murmured. "He's an old a** if you don't pay your fee."
The shadow's violet eyes shimmered quietly. If Eris was said to have ever favored a fighter in the battledome, Alnette was one. They fought many a battle in the dome and the succubus had won the her respect. But the goddess of Chaos had no power over death, and so could only offer a safe passage as was allowed her.
"Such a pity," she spoke flatly, to anyone and no one. "The universe is going to be so much more dull now."

Zack had not seen Alnette in ages; he had been very busy and unable to go to the Battledome as often as he used to. His last visit there must have been a year ago, at the very least. But she was definitely one of those figures he could never forget. And now, before he knew it, she was gone.
He sat down beside the grave, and slung the guitar from over his back in front of him.
"Goodbye, Alnette."
The pyromancer began to pluck a few mournful notes on his guitar. Then, faster, and faster, louder and more intense, the dirge built up to a lamentation--against the heavens, against fate, against himself for not having visited sooner, who knew.
There were no lyrics. He could find none.
As that last harmonic squeals of his little tribute to her were swallowed by the evening air, he threw his pick onto her grave and walked away, his chest heavier than usual.

The aquamancer folded her hands quietly and stood dumbly in front of the memorial. She had brought no gift or token, as she had not expected this. In the dome, death is cheated so easily and so frequently, it seemed unfathomable that anyone there could have perished forever. Even now, she felt she could look among the mass of spectators and champions in the dome and she would certainly find the redhead. Her sword would be drawn, her dress would be ruffled, fine, and audacious and her voice challenging and clear. But Bonnie knew this was foolishness.
"I would have liked to have had... just one more battle," Bonnie sighed and shook her head. "For old times sake."
Alnette had always slightly terrified Bonnie, but they had dealt respectfully with each other, and the aquamancer had considered her a friend. It grieved her to know that she would never see the woman again.
"Goodbye..." Bonnie said, bowing slightly and backing away. "I won't forget you. This place...it's just not gonna be the same. For any of us."
Turning away, she passed her hand over her eyes and walked on. Above the memorial, clouds formed in the sky and it began to rain softly.
