I heard that there are different ways of knitting and I'm curious as to which type people use. I'm aware of continental, english and mirror knitting. Which type do you use?
I use english style. Mostly because it is what I was taught first and I do live in England so most people here seem to use it.

I also use English style! I much prefer it. Continental and mirror are a little confusing for me to get down right.

Hello Kita I also use English style! I much prefer it. Continental and mirror are a little confusing for me to get down right. I've not actually tried Continental but I've watched mirror and it looked really confusing. Although equally someone picked it up in about ten minutes to show a technique to someone so maybe it just looks confusing.

I use English style knitting but am really interested in continental style knitting too. I saw a video on Russian knitting that was interesting. I could be wrong but it seemed like it was just knitting through the back loop?

I'm a lefty so I am a continental knitter. I just stink at continental purling.

OhNoesItsMiho I'm a lefty so I am a continental knitter. I just stink at continental purling. My cousin is a lefty too and asked me to teach her some knitting. Purling continental seems to be an issue for her too. I wonder why that is. I didn't have much of an issue but it was a little more awkward than the knit stitch for me.

Yes, continental purling is awkward, lol. I first learned how to knit using English style and I taught myself how to purl using the same method, but I switched to continental just recently. There's a video on knittinghelp.com that shows how to continental purl, but it's so weird

I mirror knit, or left handed, which is odd because I'm right handed normally...

I knit Continental. What's funny is that the books I used to teach myself were all done in the English style, but because I learned crochet first, I figured that the yarn was supposed to be in the left hand and that the film just got reversed on all the photos in the book! blaugh I've been holding the yarn in my left hand ever since.

I knit Continental, which is funny cuz my mom's an English knitter and I'm right-handed. Throwing the yarn in English knitting just slows me down. Also I hold my yarn strangely (not wrapped around my pinky, can't do it).
