I like Nords, particularly because Ginger, the character I recreate in every Bethesda RPG, is a Nord. But Skyrim successfully made me love all of the races, even the Orcs. Before, I thought that the Kajiit were kinda silly, but with the way they look in Skyrim, I can take them seriously.
I've always liked Argonians, too. Although I didn't like what Bethesda did with them in Oblivion.

This time around, I found myself liking Bretons as a fantastic default race. They get a decent amount magic stat bonuses so training in any build, you at least have some magic skills to try out or dabble in, especially restoration. Their racial bonus gives 25% magic resist. Put on some heavy armor, go swing some swords, and you never have to worry about major damage early game. Pick up The Lord Stone for an extra 50 armor and 25% magic resist and you take half damage from everything. Alteration has the Magic Resistance perks or you can enchant items for the rest of the resistance but it's not necessary. On top of all of that, a daily power for 50% spell absorb on top of that 50%+ magic resist just shuts down mages. I feel they are the most defensive race in the game and great for new players and anyone who has a problem with mages.

BlackBird Major my favorit would be Dark elves all day and redguard because its the only black race forreal It's the only default black race, to be exact. You can change your skin tone on all races, and the humans all have the option to be white or black, you just need to adjust the slider properly. I like running the Redguard, though I make him look more like the default nord in terms of skin tone and facial structure. My recent one because my saves self-deleated, has a facial structure of someone with upper teeth that are protruding outwards, which I can't seem to get right.

Bethesda probably didn't think that through, very well. I'm not a particular fan of any of the hair styles. I first used one that was pushed back with a few braids in it. Then on my second main character, I went with even more braids. Now, I just went with the one that is kind of like a comb over, but still pushed back.

I LOVE Bretons! Compact, limitless power! Like a miniature black hole; so destructive and nearly invincible when struck with magic. I use them constantly to build Ice Mages and Sith Lords (LOLZ, lightning and conjuration). BUT I also like a race that not many play with enthusiasm. Imperials! They can talk their way through almost anything and can wield a sword quite well. So when things can't be talked out I guess my sword will have to do the rest of the talking.

I click best with the Altmer/High Elves, as you may have already guessed. In my experience they actually make excellent assassins, because I have a large pool of magica to fall back on when I need it in a tough battle which acts as a confidence boost. Combine that with wicked sneak, blade, and conjuration or destruction skills and you've got a nasty offense.
Once I get to sneaking and stabbing like a pro as an Altmer, there's really no stopping me.

I use Bretons, I'm not a magic user entirely, I usually play as Breton mixture, implementing Stealth, Combat and Magic into my characters. I enjoy their Magicka resistance, and their boost. I find they work well with the Atronach sign.

If you live in a hot/dry/sunny location, your skin gets darker like Africa or Hammerfell. Likewise, cold/less sunny locations like Skyrim can be like Russia and result in lighter skin tones. Taking into consideration being outside or inside all of the time can effect it. If we assume the dragonborn has spend at least 90% of its life in Skyrim, having a dark skinned nord wouldn't make much sense. Regardless, more skin tones or even more aging features would have been nice. Everyone seems beat to hell.

Well I am a little torn here.
I love Argonians because of there water breathing and there horns (In fact on my first playthrough of Skyrim where I got to level 53 I was one of these lizardy folk)
I also love Nords and Dark Elves (Nords because Of cold resistance and style and Dark Elves because I have found that they are second only to Kajit for making a thief).

Nord because they have 50% frost resistance and a lot of people like Nords in Skyrim.
