Had it not been for the warm sun, Prajna’s beautiful music, and the alcohol, perhaps Namini would have noticed the odd glances between Shepard and Vivi, however, she didn’t and remained blissfully ignorant of what she had implied with her asking of “parenthood.” Getting quite used to the bubbly, light burning taste of the wine, Namini took another small sip, a pinkness slowly building in her cheeks, before responding to Shepard’s question, “I have been with Prajna for a few years actually. I think three? Wow… the time really goes by. And…”
The young nurse-to-be turned to Vivi and smiled softly, perhaps a bit romantically, and further explained “Prajna… is actually a really devilish soul. So maybe that’s where all the time has gone – keeping up with Prajna hehe.” She ended in an adorable hiccup and immediately covered her mouth with her hand!
As Prajna dragged its bow gracefully against the cords, its left hand pressing them down in swift, calculating motions, it looked up once, twice, noting Cesc’s admiring gaze. He kept… looking and it did not help the Star get the young stag off of its mind. The blush remained on the androgynous Frei’s cheeks until the end of the song, where Prajna released a small sigh, a breath it did not even realize it was holding. Upon conclusion, all of Prajna’s partially formed body relaxed. Its hands ached, having not played a full piece in so long, and under such great pressure.
Looking at the bottom of Cesc’s ribbon, a bit skeptical and hesitant, the Star asked shyly, “Was it good, Cesc? …I tried… for you.” This pink haired golden boy! Prajna felt like it could just not stop the stupid from leaving its mouth!

Perhaps it was the warm sun, the beautiful music, and the alcohol -- or, more likely, it was just because Namini was Namini -- but Vivi was beyond charmed with the girl. She was so polite and good-natured, humble and sweet and just adorable that the Frenchwoman could not stop smiling at her. Already the alcohol was giving Namini a blush, and Vivi could not help but think to herself how very becoming it was for her.
"A devilish soul, my, my! You would not know it!" breathed Vivi with a shake of her head, watching the frei wrap up the piece. Prajna looked quite composed and beautiful behind the cello and with the bow in hand, and when it opened those beautiful eyes and looked not-at-Cesc, she could not help thinking there was a sweet vulnerability lingering somewhere within the devil's chest.
"Beautiful," Rhedefre said quietly as the piece finished, and applauded with a broad smile. As Prajna did not look at him, he inclined his head and then floated lower, a playful gesture meant only to draw the star's gaze. There was no artifice in his smile or his delight. "I wish I had another word for it, but I cannot think one -- you play quite beautiful. Have you learned long?"

Namini twirled a finger around a stray amber curl as she breathed a proud sigh, noting that Prajna did not lose its composition or even miss a note throughout its performance. Though the young girl had not witnessed many of Prajna’s cello practices, she knew the Star studied diligently in its spare time, even though it lacked a proper instructor. On a few occasions Namini had woken in the middle of the night to hear Prajna playing softly in the apartment’s balcony or, even more oddly, cramped within their small bathroom. She was happy to witness the fruit of Prajna’s hard work first hand.
“Yes… Prajna’s a handful, but I honestly can say it’s been worth every second. I mean, Prajna is a bit tricky to get used to, I won’t lie, but I think that tough exterior is just to protect its feelings and pride. Overall” Namini stopped to giggle. “Overall, I believe Prajna is actually very sensitive.”
As the stag breathed life into the simple adjective, Prajna tried to regain its indifferent composure despite all the adrenaline. It was odd, the feeling of butterflies in a phantom stomach and a partially developed chest. Perhaps it was the playing as well, but Prajna felt a light tingling, a kind of electricity coursing through its fingertips as well.
“But but… of course Prajna.. plays well. And no. Not forever long, just long enough” Prajna snorted, still attempting to avoid Cesc’s gaze. Out of the corner of its eye, the Star imagined it saw one of the stag’s ears flicker playfully. Curious, the redhead redirected its attention. It placed its bow down and, without asking, reached out and rubbed the soft ear cautiously between its finger. The blush deepened. Cesc was so soft…

Shepard nodded as Namini spoke, having busied himself putting food on paper plates and now began to hand them 'round. Vivi, leaning forward on one arm, listened with great interest as the young woman spoke, curious about the experiences of other guardians with their freis. No two Raevans were alike, insofar as those Vivi had met, and Prajna still shined as something special -- she was eager to hear more.
As lunch continued, she would press Namini for more stories and questions, curious about what the frei was made from and what their family life was like. By the end of the afternoon, she would press their business card into the girl's hand and absolutely insist that the two come visit in the future.
For Cesc's part, he was happy to be in Prajna's presence, completely unaware that he had given rise to any feelings within the star frei but perhaps the possibility for friendship, which had seemed nearly impossible at the unfortunate start of their meeting. The blush he assumed was a thing the star did often, and perhaps to all, but made sure he told the other frei that the look was fetching...
To compliment Prajna, he decided, was a terribly necessary and enjoyable thing to do.
And he hoped to do it more in the future.
