SOLO Just another day
It was hard to ignore, but that feeling was always there. That feeling that... there was something out there, a feeling that she didn't fully understand. Grass tickled at her cheeks as Pan gazed up into the blue of sky. Fluffy clouds wafted lazily across her vision every now and then. A sheep, a giraffe, a flock of penguins...
Hermes chirped in her ear and she sighed.
"Alright I get it, dinner time soon," she muttered with a roll of her eyes, but made no move to leave whatsoever. It was nice here, and dinner wasn't going to run away.
An elephant marched across the sky, and Pan wondered vaguely if there were aliens beyond those clouds. She cocked her head to the side. The elephant looked like an owl now...
But aliens didn't exist, right? No one's ever seen one? And anyway even if there were aliens...
Nah. Aliens were about as possible as her finding her true parents.
A moment of heaviness settled on her chest on that thought. She was happy, she truly was, but there was always this... nagging, this piece of loose-end thread hanging from the sleeve of her otherwise perfect jumper that simply would not go away despite her attempts to cut it.
Hermes twittered again, and hopped onto her face. The girl giggled and tried to blow the minute owl away, without much success.
"Alright alright we'll go home now, okay?" she laughed as she brushed stray grass off her skirt. Hermes crooned his approval as he settled on her shoulder, and Pan made her way home, leaving behind on the little patch of grass that was her cushion her worries and thoughts about aliens and parentage for the day.
