Cimmerians, descendents from Atlantis, if they somehow managed to take over the world (which kinda goes against their character, they generally don't leave their lands (Conan the obvious exception.) They are a rough race, that seem somewhat half breed from the Picts (who barbaric in Hyborea were quite noble when Bran Mak Morn ruled them.) and the people from Asgard. (In the first written Conan tale Prospero tells Conan that he is unlike other Cimmerians in that he had never seen another Cimmerian drink anything but water and that they never smile.) I am pretty sure they would most likely just melt into society, the Germanic/Celt/Nordic tribes all kinda meshed into society, and being that Conan became King of Aquilonia (France) i just think that most likely Cimmeria would fade away....

Now a Tyrannical Stygian nation... that would be intense.

Anything will work with enough elbow grease. I mean we can be creative. I have read every conan story by Robert E Howard, nobody elses though, I hear L. Sprague Camp is good, just prefer the original. The fact is, in the original tales, you never see inside Cimmeria. That whole revenge for the death of his father thing someone pulled out of their a**. Conan left Cimmeria becase he felt like it. And in all the tales, you never see another Cimmerian, because they rarely leave.

I mean we could say a barbarian cheif put the lust for war into them and they conqured the Hyborean world. Anythimg is possible, I was just rambling. Robert E. Howard is my hero, so I tend to spew out random stuff, much of it speculative...
