Alright! I need some awkward questions answered, for plot usage and background knowledge, et cetera. I'll check out google later. I want to see how many people know the answers to these.

question when were medical needles first invented/used? heart

question when was the first clock/watch invented?

question When did people in Europe start using the days of the week?

question did people use the terms "hours" and minutes" before clocks were invented? and if not, what are some other words that were used instead?

question when did the term "witch" first appear in Europe? was the Pentagram used then? heart

question when were cannonballs/small "bombs" first used?

question what type of flint was used in medieval times?

question what era did people start upholstering furniture?

question when were doorknobs (not latches, the acutal knobs) first used by all normal households?

question did people in this era use "spectacles", "glasses" "eyepieces" or
"monocales"?

question when did the term "doctors" (not counting witch doctor) take over "healers"? heart

Ok, that's about it. I'll add more as they come to me. If I find answers to any one of them, I'll post it here.
Thanks a bunch for reading this,

-- Lets see from what I remember needles were first used in the late 1700's and early 1800's
-- Which days of the week? The ones we know today? That would be in whatever year they instutited the calendar we use in their country. But remember not everywhere in the world uses our calendar and such divide the year up differently and probably have different names of the week. If I remember right for awhile Europe used two different systems ... the actual names for the days of the week come from Pagan gods if I remember correctly.
-- Most likely people didn't use hours and minutes because those were divisions that they didn't know, remember a watch was expensive for a long time. I think hours and minutes became more standard when railroads came into play (departure and arrival times). For other words, use a thesaurus to find them, remember life was slower before we used clocks so when you said you'd be by sometime that morning, that could be anywhere from sunup to about high noon, or even in the afternoon, it was more by the way of saying you'd be around sometime not an exact time.
-- Witch I know was used in and probably before 1400 which was when the Inqusition began taking witches seriously; pentagrams well have been used in the most ancient of cultures (we're talking four didgets BC), I won't go into details, but I'll point you at this website where they go into pretty good detail
-- As for the wearing of any sort of eyepiece, you'll have to give me a number or an approximate one before I can help.
-- Doctor was, if memory serves, originally a term used to denote someones educational level like professor, up until their were formal medicinal schools I doubt the term was used and instead you would go to see the old hag that lived in the hut just out of town, or to see a mid-wife. Remember people were very superstitious and relied on religion and old wives tales more then science

Hope that helps, but I'll make one suggestion, if you're going to search the web, be really critical of what you find, espeically on the occult. So many people have opened their own sites and are all full of propoganda. You're better off getting it out of a book (although many of those are no better). I've studied witchcraft, vampyrs, the occult, etc for nearly a decade now so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
