Satoshi listened to the other mononke, smiling soflty. "Yea, I'm jealous of the windows. I'd love to put my kiddie pool right in the corner and just swim all day in it. I got a room with a large window, but it's on the wrong side of the school so I don't get a lot of sun." The koi frowned a bit, but shrugged at the small tidbit of knowledge. "Maybe I can relocated later when other students graduate. But for now I’m content in that room. It's nicely styled."
"In a way, I'm jealous of you." Satoshi said as he glanced at Saphiros again, smirking at the boy. "You have mobility when you shift, you can go anywhere and see anything... I'm limited to water. And boy does it get boring. I'd love to get in a river and just swim somewhere, but in town I'm stuck with my bathtub or my kiddie pool." He chuckled softly at his own expense, "Back home we had a large pond that I could swim around in all day and sun bathe, but I don't feel comfortable doing that here. I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I tried swimming in a pond in the park, someone stole me and I ended up naked downtown in a pet store!"
Yea, he already forgot the whole point of coming to Saphiros's room. The teenager slid off the bed and grinned at the lizard boy. "So, you got any games or something fun to do? We can pig out first and have some fun, then worry about our potion."
Procrastinator to the capital P, he really didn't plan on starting it unless provoked by Saphiros. Really, he just planned to leave everything there for Saphiros... the lizard had to be more responsible than him, right? Surely he'd try the potion out without him. But he'd have to remember to leave some fish scales behind in his escape from responsibility!

"Jealous of me?" Saphi found himself asked of the fish, listening as he explained his mobility issues, "Hrm... I bet if you played up the 'fish out of water' thing you could someone cute to save you... though you might also get pounced by a kitty..." That might go badly, perhaps shifting into a flopping fish just to get sympathy and to get himself saved wasn't really the best of plans now was it? Making a face he said, I have the worst problems with birds... they seem to want nothing else to have a nice, tasty lizard snack whenever I shift. If I could learn some sort of... of... anti-bird magic that would make my day." Though that meant a whole lot of work in looking for such spells, learning them, practicing them, he supposed he could just continue to dodge them instead, right? He tilted his head to one side in a thoughtful manner, "There are some rather nice places out in the woods that you can go swimming, I can show you sometime if you want. I went to a rather nice stream with this druid I met in the woods not that long ago." He said, tail swishing from side to side, excited just remembering that day since it had so much fun that day! He rather wanted to go out again in hopes of finding that same person. He was a big fan of druids, even it was a biased love since he'd only ever met one of them. It did make him want to see out more of them though if the first one was an indication it might be difficult since they seemed to all live in the woods. At the mention that swimming in the park pond got a person stolen and given to a pet shop naked his eyes got wide, "Wow... that must have been a... strange experience." Worse even then being stolen by birds since the best defense against that was turning back and dragging the birds down with his normal form and size, "Why naked?" He found himself asking, wondering what had happened to Satoshi's pants. "Eh? Games? Sure! I have a few! And a couple decks of cards too." He said, going over to shelves that were to one side of the room, looking at the mess of things stacked up there, "I figure it wouldn't hurt to play a bit while we eat, then we can concentrate completely on the potion." Satoshi gave them a way to put the work off for a bit so Saphi was all for taking it. (( word count recorded to here ))

"I've tried that." He stated bluntly. "The fish out of water thing. I nearly suffocated one time, and another time I was dropped into a disgusting puddle of water. So I tend to avoid that situation now. But even swimming in places where people can find me is dangerous at times. If someone, or some thing, removes me from the water I have no way of escaping. I just have to pray my human instincts kick in and I can transform back before I end up in another pet store." He explained, then listened to Saphiros talk about the birds. Yea, that must be annoying to deal with. And he nodded to the suggestion of a secluded area to swim.
"I was naked because, well... let me start at the beginning quickly. I found this pond while walking and it was hot. So I made sure no one was around and stripped down to nothing. I hid my clothes in a near by bush and dove into the water to relax and swim. You see, if I transform with my clothes on my clothes get wet. So usually I remove them and wear a pair of swim trunks. But on this particular day I wasn't wearing any. I didn't want to walk home soaking wet. So I took them off. Well, that a*****e comes around and kidnaps me and when my senses finally kicked over I transformed and emerged rather naked from a pet store indoor pond. I punched the guy in the nose and used some kind of pet blanket as a towel and went back for my clothes. I have to say, it wasn't very fun."
At the mention of games, Satoshi got up to take a look. He scanned over the names of several games before he perked up. "Cards? Let's just play with cards. As dorky as it is, I do like that game go fish... for obvious reasons." He had a cheeky little grin as he moved to sit on the bed once again, drawing his legs up Indian style while smoothing the blanket out in front of him. "A few of my relatives are fish Mononoke, so the game is one of our favorites."✖

"Eesh, that sounds unfortunate." He said, feeling a little bad for Satoshi as he explained all the unlucky events that he'd gone through when he tried to fake needing aid when he was in his fish form. That really wasn't going to get him the girls if he got himself dumped into a puddle or just plain having to deal with suffocation, "And I thought I had it bad with all the birds trying to eat me, girls trying to stomp me, and the kids that play way to rough." He was going to concede defeat to the fish boy for real when it came to who had it harder when it came to their alternate form, especially given that nine times out of ten he had fun in his other form, using it to mooch food, get rides around on the backs of rather cool people, and otherwise getting into places he would normally get murdered for entering or thrown out of the moment he was noticed. When Satoshi explained the reasoning behind why it was that he was kidnapped whilst being naked he gave a slow nod of his head, seeming to better understand. Alright, he was a little confused there for a moment as to what string of events might land Satoshi naked in a pet shop. When it was explained to him in detail it didn't seem nearly as scandalous as it might have first sounded, "Ahhh, I see... I agree, that doesn't sound like much fun. When it comes to kidnapping the worst I've had to deal with is a Witch that was completely certain that I was to be her familiar. I found myself quickly done up with a ribbon around my neck and her calling be Bluebell. Nothing nearly as bad as what you went through though for sure." If it actually counted as being kidnapped he wasn't sure, more like humiliated for a bit before he'd found a chance to escape from her clutches before running like the worst monster out there was nipping at his scaly heels. When Satoshi picked cards, as well as wanting to play fish, Saphi couldn't help but to laugh a bit, "Playing go fish and you eat goldfish crackers, you are far too awesome." He said as he grabbed up a deck of cards and set about shuffling them as he plopped down on his bed across from Satoshi, deciding that he had to be the most appealing person he'd had on his bed before... then again he was the only one but still, it counted in the lizard's head. As he set to dealing the cards he asked, "You have relatives that are mononoke too? I seem to have been a bit of a random hiccup... I mean my mother can't even cast a single spell and yet here I am." He always did wonder where it came from, both his parents didn't seem to have any idea other then a possible great, great grandfather on his father's side that might have been mononoke if the stories were right. Needless to say it had made growing up more interesting for Saphi and more hectic for his magicless mother, "You can go first since you are my guest."

The koi smiled at the lizard across from him on the bed, nodding a bit. "I am awesome, if you hang out with me enough, you might be awesome too... kidding. You're pretty awesome yourself. In fact, we make a pretty awesome team!" Looking down to his hand of cards, he started to sort the numbers before the game started. He already had a few matches, which made the little fish grin.
"Aye, I got several mononoke relatives. My father is one, and two of my brothers and one of my sisters. Not all of my siblings can cast magic but I am jealous of the ones that can. Mom said I'm unique and I just need to grow into my magic... meaning, she has no idea how to help me so she shipped me off here." He chuckled a little, setting down three pairs of cards with a few left in his hand.
"Alright... let's see here," He glanced over the rim of his cards, eyeing Satoshi. "Got a three?"

Saphi rather liked the idea that the two of them made a good team though it seemed that they were best team when it came to slacking off together. Oh well, the lizard was having fun and he was always the sort to put things off so he didn't need all that much encouragement to do so. He figured that Satoshi was likely the same from the looks of it, "Well then we will need to hang out more I think." He said, giving a sage nod as he rearranged his cards to how he would like them, setting one set down as he listened to what the other was saying about all the mononoke in his family. That must be neat instead of being a random fluke like Saphiros felt like some days. "That's neat... man I wish I had so many mononoke in my family." He said, then gave a swish of his tail as Satoshi explained why he'd ended up here, that he needed to grow into his magic. He gave a bit of a laugh, "I kind of ended up here due to being so determined to follow in my dad's footsteps. A shame that the path is so complicated. Have you seen the things you need to go through just to get even the slightest chance to enter the Reapers? I don't know how my old man became a Blackheart.." He gave a half shrug, wondering if he would actually make it. He found school so boring, put off his assignments, and at times he was pretty certain that he had picked the most difficult path ever known... but his father had been so happy when he seemed to want to follow in his footsteps and he couldn't really back out now just due to being lazy, right? "Three? Yep! You aren't using any special fish powers to cheat at this, are you?" He asked jokingly as he held the card out to his friend before scanning his hand and asked, "Got any Kings?"

Orpheus Solon Sorry it took me so long. ;o; I've been sick. I still have my horrible cough. Satoshi paused in the shuffling of his cards to glance at Saphiros. Blackheart? Reaper? The young Mononoke frowned a bit as the two names were familiar to him. Although he hadn’t been a part of the kidnapping, even he heard the stories. In his eyes they were a bit of the bad guys and for a moment that disheartened the Koi. Could this new friend of his be so cruel and heartless in the future? Although, a lot of ignorance on Satoshi’s part was the cause of his prejudice. "Honestly, I’ve never thought about becoming a reaper or blackheart. I’m not really sure what path I’ll take, but learning magic is of course the first step. I suppose whatever has the easiest path, I’ll do. "
Dropping his pair to the mattress, the fish held over his only King. "And I don’t have any special fish powers. So don’t use your special lizard powers." He teased, looking across the bed to watch Saphiros curiously. Though, he was glad his back was to the wall. There was no reflective surface. Now if Saphiros was only a few more inches to the right, the Koi could have used the mirror to cheat… but he couldn’t ask his pal to move, that would be too suspicious! Maybe he could shift his own weight after a few more hands. Satoshi couldn’t help but snicker mentally at the idea of cheating… it was cards! He didn’t have to cheat.
"Let me see… Saphiros, do you have an eight?"

Saphi's tail swished behind him for a moment as Satoshi said that he wasn't sure of his path but that learning magic was the first step, "Yeah... it's that first step that is so difficult, not to mention a little boring." He said, sticking out tongue at the thought of it. He would rather do anything after all but go to class but he knew that it was a necessity. He wasn't going to be learning any magic, powerful or worthy of the Reapers, if he didn't first graduate from school. Until that happened, well he was going to have to continue dragging himself to class and keeping up with his assignments even if it felt rather mind numbing to do so, "Guess we will see one day soon enough what paths we actually end up on." He just hoped whatever he ended up doing would be enough to keep his father happy with him was all. Even if the man was as strict as Hell in most aspects of life it didn't make Saphi love him any less. A chuckle escaped from the lizard mononoke at the mention of 'special lizard powers' and he nodded, "Alright, I will stop smelling out the cards and which one is which." He said in as serious tone as he could muster up before flicking his tongue out at the other mononoke. Alright, so he couldn't really do that, all the cards smelled the same to him, but it was fun to joke about nevertheless. When it seemed there was no king to be hand he picked up one of them out of the pile, looked it over, and then laughed as he handed it to his fishy friend when the other asked for the eight that he had just picked up, "Lucky you!" He chirped, amused about Satoshi's timing. Looking his cards over closely he asked for a, "Queen if you have one?" He didn't have a king but maybe he'd have the king's wife? He wasn't exactly doing too super well at their current hand but he really didn't mind one way or the other, he was having a lot of fun after all and that was what mattered the most to him.

The fish boy smiled as he held out a Queen, watching as the card found a mate in Saphiros's hand. " You got any Jack's there Saphiros ol' buddy?" He asked, cocking his head to the side slightly. Honestly, he could cheat if he wanted to. The way Saphiros was sitting; all Satoshi had to do was lean to the side and catch a glimpse in the mirror. But he was better than that. There was no need to cheat in a friendly game of cards. " Ya know... I wonder why there is a Jack in a deck of cards. I mean, why not a prince or a princess?" Sure it was a little off topic and a shift from their magic discussion, but it was still an interesting question. The young boy had no real history on the cards and what exactly the Jack stood for. " Man, now I'm going to wonder about that all night. Ha! I'll have to actually stop off at the library on the way back to my dorm to find out, unless you know?" But what were the odds that Saphiros knew why they called that Jack a Jack, and what he stood for with the court of cards. " Anyway, enough of that card talk. It'll just give me a head ache if I keep thinking about it!" He laughed lightly at himself, passing cards back and forth for each round. " So, Saphiros... you got any one special in your life? There's a few hotties that I turn my head to look at. Specially when they walk around campus in those short skirts. Mmm... Though, all I do is look. This way I can look at them all and not have a jealous girlfriend on my arm! I'd hate the nagging of 'Oh my god did you just check out that other girl and I'm standing here with you? What, you think she's prettier than me don't you?'" His voice pitched when he mocked his imaginary fake girlfriend.
