Well sometimes getting to know God can be like tuning a guitar to some people. If they don't like what is being said they just tune it till it sounds good to them. Anyways if he is the guy I think you're talking about he could be talking about how most people see him as the happy go lucky God that is like a bucket full of sunshine, yes he is love, but he is also a punisher (Like a father) Anyways that's my interpretation, it could be off the wall or off topic.

Saying that we worship a God we made up would be ignoring the teachings in the Bible, as well as putting God into a box. And yes, I do agree that some Christians do this. They shove God into a Box like the Israelite did in the old testament. Yet God is never changing. There is only one God, and we can learn about him in one place; The word, which is held in the bible.

I think the point being made here is that the bible isn't always right. I believe, for those who really want to know God, they should read the bible and they should know the scriptures, but they must learn to listen and speak with God themselves. It isn't like how I'm speaking to you right now, nor would it be if we were speaking in person, it's an internal thing. Perhaps easier for those who learn to meditate.

Of course not... it was first written in Greek and Hebrew, translations are sketchy, unless you're saying the teachings aren't always right which could be taken offensively. In my opinion you could be right both ways, but really it's all up to God. As for speaking to God, I agree, it's not something you can hear or see, it's internal.
