Satoshi had grown up an orphan in the Land of Water under the tutorage of his Uncle who was a retired shinobi skilled in the arts of Genjutsu since before he could remember. His parents had been killed in an accident involving a fire and a large explosion which Satoshi survived due to his mother's sacrifice of throwing him out the door of their home before it was consumed in a great conflaguration. If asked to remember his parents, he sees no faces, just flames and the tortured screams as they burned to death. It was unknown to him what caused the fire, but hidden reports show that they were developing a massive explosive to be used to punch a hole in strong walls of other Villages like Sunagakure and the famed Konohagakure, it just backfired...or was sabatoged, the report isnt clear about how the experiment went wrong.
Upon growing up and coming of age by graduating the academy, he was sent to live on his own with provisonary funds from his Uncle who wished him luck with these last few words. "This is the start of your journey, kiddo... Make it worth it." When he said that to Satoshi, he was really showing his affections as he felt a fatherly love for him. Now Satoshi lives in the Hidden Village of the Mist, training and growing as he awaits the day when he will finally undertake his first real mission and work his way up the ladder to eventually become as great as his Uncle once was, and to discover the truth about his fiery past, and uncover the real reason behind the death of his parents.
