I'm sure everyone knows that at the Second Anniversary Ball the other day, the admins surprised everyone by re-releasing the G Pins from the previous year, albeit in smaller amounts, making them less common than the V Pins and other new items. But still, re-releasing an item, something which many people had thought the admins had said they would never do, has turned more than a few heads.
Jakobo (I believe it was him) cleared some things up by explaining that the G Pins were exactly the same as last year's, so the new ones were no less valuable than their older counterpart, and he also informed us that the admins would not be re-releasing any donation items for certain, but event items were up to the given storyline; the G Pins were brought back because Gambino wanted to give them out, and who could argue with Gambino? xp
Now I haven't been Exchange whoring as much the past few months as I once did, and I don't trust the Marketplace prices any farther than I could throw them (don't try and act like that doesn't make sense), but I have been perusing the Q&F, and I've noticed multiple threads on the topic of G Pins.
One guy said that he had been upset because he was hoarding G Pins for his DJs quest (which he said he had been questing for for over a year) and that now he had been crushed because his pin collective had dropped in value by 500k.
Another thread said that the increase in pins was slight enough to not screw over the economic standing of the pins, and that now more people were aware of them, making them in higher demand, and that in his eyes, the prices had "skyrocketed". But then another Gaian posted in that topic saying they had watched the Exchange, and that the increase in pin prices was not the case at all, although that was pretty much all they had to say on the subject.
In short, most people seem annoyed, others seem to see it differently, and I'm not really certain about the prices one way or another, because I never watched their prices in the first place. blaugh
So my question is, what do we all think about this situation? Have the prices fluctuated greatly one way or another? Do you think this is hurtful to the Gaian economy at all? Do you really care either way? I'm curious to hear some input from people whose opinions I actually take seriously. xd

Finally. I've waited for someone to present this topic intelligently. whee
I've observed the G-pin's price before, during, and after the event. Right before, the price went up a couple k because of the anniversary hype. It was like that for a few weeks or so. Okay, a couple months maybe.
During the event, (before the Market closed) the pins went a little haywire. Few actually bought them because the difference between the new and old ones was not widely known. Once it was known, it was eliminated. xp
Now, the prices have dropped about 2 or 3k. But that really puts them back where they were a couple months ago.
I see it as a setback. They aren't being given out anymore, the event is over. Now there are more G-pins, but as we have seen before limited items only go UP after the initial drop.
So the pins get two drops in their lifetime. Stop complaining. They were FREE. Personally, I won't sell free items for more than a couple hundred g. Not like I did anything to get them.

To me the G-pins were worthless unless Gambino himself gave it to me...even though it wasn't really Gambino...I really think it's a waist of money to buy such a thing really. PA is right they were free and to pay like 100, 000 k for a tiny peice of not that stylish propaganda (still kinda cute though) that was worth nothing in the first place (accept hours and hours of being online 'till like 5 or 6 in the morning...yes I did that...yes i was desperate..leave me alone stare ) is crazy and sad. Though I am a supporter of Gambino, I'm sure there are other and more better ways to promote him. For example.
"VIVA LA RESISTANCE!!! Down with the Von Helsing vampires. Gambino will rule agian!"
"GAMBINO! GAMBINO! GAMBINO!"
Effective, Supportive, and FREE! Not to mention it gets ya some mooooneh too if ya post it every where (if spamming were aloud in where ever you were posting that is). xd
