• Welcome to the Etrua Region

Hello and welcome to the Etrua region. Here you will find a whole new world with excitement around every corner just waiting to be discovered. A brand new journey starting with a basic Pokémon and working your way through the entire region. You will battle tough trainers, collect eight badges, destroy the evil team Celestia, and fight your way to the very top to become the true champion of Etrua.


Let me begin by giving you a tour of the majestic region itself.

Blyse City - This glorious city is found near the seaside where trainers like to gather and battle. Its most famous attraction is the Battle Cruise which runs day and night from Blyse to Port Riplye. Many beginning trainers gather here to level up their Pokémon as they take a luxurious cruise and enjoy the view. Blyse City is also the holder of the biggest poke-mart in all of Etrua. Standing at an incredible thirty stories tall, this place has it all.

Following Blyse City I take you to the Gabron Ruins. Here trainers spend countless hours digging for fossils and other items to help them on their quest. The Gabron Ruins are run by the Blyse City gym leader and only the holders of the Aero Badge are allowed in.

The Battle Cruise from Blyse City follows a beautiful Sea Route 01 to Port Riplye. There's not much here but a farmer's market where people can sell their items to other trainers, some which they have dug up themselves. Port Riplye is a good place for people to walk the dock and watch the tide come in and out from the ocean. It's also a great place to surf around and explore. There may be unknown things hidden within the waters.

The next place on our tour is the pretty little village called Flawna Village. These people live very close to the forest and enjoy collecting exotic flowers, including the rare Gracidea, which they put out for happy Shaymin to find. Some Shaymin have been seen within the boundaries of the forest but no one has been able to get close enough to this cute Pokémon to catch it.

The Icunga Forest is next to Flawna Village. It is very easy to get lost in as it is a huge circle but if you can find the correct path it can take you to Fort Ammoa, Asude City, or Mosnia Valley. There have been reports of some legendary Pokémon spotted here.

The easiest path out of the forest will take you to Fort Ammoa. This place was built many years ago to protect the Etrua region from attacks. Fort Ammoa is surrounded by a great stone wall, much like a castle. Atop the wall are several cannons people used to fire at the enemy long ago. Now days is is a famous attraction. In the middle of the Fort is a fortress where the gym leader Izayah can be found. Trainers challenge him to win the Bullet Badge.

Route 8 leads out of Ammoa to another strange town called Addobe. Addobe Town is a dry place next to the desert. The houses in Addobe are made out of dry mud and though they may not look like much, they can handle even the toughest sandstorms that sometime come through the town. Aside from the gym, Addobe's most famous attraction is the contest hall, where trainers can compete for cool prizes and rare Pokémon. Addobe's gym is you guessed it Ground type. Trainers try to defeat the gym leader to earn the Brick Badge.

A little ways away from Addobe there are two famous lakes of the Etrua region, Lake Adema and Asemmo. These lakes are found on either side of Emmoco Village. Emmoco Village is for trainers to relax and take a break from all their hard training. It's a vacation resort with plenty of fun things to do such as water sports and a luxurious Pokémon spa. Pokémon and trainers both walk away feeling happier and much more refreshed than they were when they arrived.

Beside Lake Asemmo there lies quite an eerie city, it is called Asude. Here people come to lay down their lost Pokémon in the graveyard. Most people found here are sad for their losses and tend to keep to themselves. Found within Asude is also the nasty Team Celestia's base. They keep a look out for trainers trying to get to Mount Somia, the entrance to Victory Road. There have been a couple sightings of a black Pokémon with glowing red eyes that pass by the graveyard on nights of a new moon.

Let's get away from that creepy place and go to a much happier place called Mosnia Valley. Mosnia is found next to the Icunga Forest and lies in the valley of Mount Somia and Mount Fros. Trainers gather here to prepare for the hike up the freezing Mountain of Fros. Some trainers however prefer not to walk so instead they take the train up the mountain to Iclea Town. The train is an advanced version of the Battle Cruise found in Blyse City. Advanced trainers battle here on their way up the mountain. Entrance to the train however is denied until the Jade Badge is obtained by the Mosnia gym leader.

Mt. Fros is the coldest place in all Etrua. Reaching an insane temperature of -10 degrees this challenging mountain is the only other way to reach the small town of Iclea. Rumors have it there is a Pokémon that likes to wreak havoc and cause maniacal blizzards within Fros Mountain.

Whether you choose the battle train or the treacherous mountain path you will eventually reach Iclea Town. There is no gym here but a contest hall where a lottery is held as well as other types of contests. Many writers gather here to enjoy the cool breezy air and clear their thoughts to produce stories and other types of writing. Found here is a small café where people can express their feelings through poetry and/or song lyrics.

For trainers who prefer a slightly warmer environment why not skip the mountain and head over to the ferry which will take you to Zidoa Island. Zidoa is a small island in the middle of Lake Claire. It's home to the holder of the Intuitive Badge. A special gym leader that specializes in both Water and Psychic types. Zidoa also has a contest hall that holds random contests. If you like weirdness Zidoa is the place to be.

Taking the ferry out of Zidoa and following Route 7 will take you to one of two sister cities. They are called Deres and Braitto. The residents of these cities have a very strong hatred for each other. Deres is the darkest place found in all Etrua. Gothic people love to come here to check out the gothic fashion contest held by the famous Gothitelle. Deres has many attractions, the fashion hall being only one of them. In the middle of Deres is a casino where trainers gamble their luck until they're left with nothing. Some trainers never leave. Inside the casino is also the Pokémon gym. Walk away with the Obscure Badge, I dare you.

Another of Deres' attractions is the bar where trainers come to take a load off. Try a Blue Alteria or a Cherubi Bomb to get you feeling frisky and party all night long.

The sister city of Deres is Braitto. Just like Deres it too is busy all day and all night long. There's much to do in this city starting with the Pokémon theatre. Trainers come here to watch Pokémon perform spectacular performances. Some other attractions of Braitto are the Pokémon club which just like the bar in Deres people can unwind and dance all night and day until they pass out. Also found here is the Pokémon fashions hall where people come to dress their Pokémon in many adorable outfits and show them off. Braitto's gym is located in the middle of the city. Battles here are televised for all to see. Walking away with the Voltaire Badge will be no easy task.

Finally, we reach the final stop on our tour, Genesia. Genesia is a very artistic city where many art galleries and art shops can be found. Trainers come here to show off their work for others to see. Also located here is the Genesia Museum that tells all about the history of the Etrua Region. If trainers have all other of the seven badges they can begin their final battle for the Genesis Badge. Once this is obtained they may travel back down the road to Asude to begin the climb to Victory Road and try their hand at the Pokémon League.

This is an introduction to all of the crew in Etrua along with each one's individual duties. Generally all the crew members should stick to whatever they're assigned to do unless a ToS violation is being committed or the appropriate member is unable or incapable of dealing with the problem. At this point in time all active crew members are the nameless, faceless rangers and referees of battles.

Professor Valerian Aide - Active guild mule. He will be taking on all of Valerian's duties until Miss_D_White or Danali_Black come back from hiatus. He will hand out new Pokémon to beginning Trainers and will hand out the final verdict on tough decisions that require anonymity.

• o Guild Rules

1. Follow all Gaia T.o.S. and Rules and Guidelines.

2. No god modding. You're also not hot stuff unless the game masters and everyone in the guild says you are.

3. No cheating the post counts for leveling. Put a post count on each post just to help you remember. You will be expected to keep up with your levels truthfully. If you are caught cheating once your levels of all Pokémon are reduced by ten, and the second offense is a ban.

4. Respect other RPers, don't be unnecessarily rude.

5. Don't ever expect an automatic victory. The referees will be watching official battles to handle disputes. Victory must be won with creative battling. A higher level than your opponent just means you've got access to better attacks.

6. If you feel or see something unfair or against the rules then DO NOT spend pages battling it out over the forums and threads. Take it to a mod immediately.

7. All posts must be at least four sentences long. We'd prefer that you NOT make page long posts for battles.

8. Proper English required and demanded. We are semi-lit to highly-lit. Insert action posts will get you one warning and a repeat offense is a ban.

9. Use the standard Gaia font size, color, and text alignment. Standard Gaia font size is 12, black color is the color, left is the alignment. Some people have eye problems and no one should have to squint to read your posts. Please be courteous. If your post looks like this then fix it.

10. Space between each paragraph especially if you feel the uncontrollable urge to center your posts. It's very difficult to tell where a paragraph ends and begins when posts are centered and no spacing has been done between the paragraphs.

11. Do not use pictures any bigger than 500 pixels wide and 170 pixels high if you choose to decorate your posts. That is plenty big enough. Be courteous to the people who cannot handle pic/gif heavy threads.

12. Gym battles, E4 battles, and Champion challenges take place in the appropriately named forums.

13. Do not ask to be a Gym Leader/E4/Champion/Celestia Higher Up/Legendary. The crew as a whole will determine what makes one person better for a role than another.

14. Do NOT make a thread in the main forum unless you're a crew member.

15. Please read the stickies every so often. Updates to them may have been made and announcements for those updates may not have been made. We'll try to avoid updating stickies without announcing what's been done to them for everyone's sake.

16. Do NOT complain about there being too much to read. You're in a guild devoted to role plays, you're going to be reading a lot and if a mod tells you to go look something up or corrects you for something and it's already there then you have no right to moan about it.

17. We're running on the fifth generation's rules.

• Your Journey Begins

• o Your Pack – All Trainers good, evil, and indifferent, start out with the much of the same things in their packs. Here we have some specificity concerning each Trainer type.

• •  Gym Challengers – One Pokédex, six Pokéballs, six Potions, one standard Starter Pokémon.

• •  Team Celestia Members – The main bad guy of Etrua has many different levels to their organization and each level has a different number and type of items they're allowed to carry. All Celestia members are allowed to dig in the Ruins or the Orchard.

• • • • Boss – Six Pokéballs OR two Ultra Balls, two Super Potions OR one Hyper Potion, three Smoke Balls, allowed a full team of Pokémon levels forty and below. Must roll six 100-sided die to determine what Pokémon are on team. Pokémon must be level forty and below.

• • • • Admins – Six Pokéballs OR two Ultra Balls, six Potions OR three Super Potions, three Smoke Balls, allowed a full team of Pokémon levels thirty and lower. Must roll up to six 100-sided die to determine what Pokémon are on team.

• • • • Agents – Six Pokéballs OR three Great Balls, six Potions OR three Super Potions, three Smoke Balls, allowed to have a full team of Pokémon levels twenty or below. Must roll up to six 100-sided die to determine what Pokémon are on team.

• • • • Grunts – Six Pokéballs, six Potions, three Smoke Balls, one Celestia standard starter Pokémon and one Pokémon levels ten and below. Must roll one 100-sided die to determine what Pokémon will be on team.

• •  League Members – All members of the Pokémon League Staff have two teams (they are allowed to make more than that). One team is their personal team which they use outside of their respective duties, the second team is used for their duties, whatever they may be. The second team is NOT to be counted as part of the PC because they ARE NOT to be used outside of official events. The two teams can be perfect mirrors of one another but the first team can level up while the second team cannot. THEY ARE COUNTED AS BEING ON LOAN FROM THE LEAGUE SO THEY ARE NOT A PART OF YOUR PC. When in a battle with a Trainer for a badge or otherwise you DO NOT count your posts and your team DOES NOT level up. This means that if your gym battlers are always level 40 your personal use battlers are able to level up. Certain TMs in the Poké Mart are only available through the Gym Leaders. They are marked as unavailable.

• • • • Gym Leaders – In official, League battles, all Gym Leaders have two full restores that they are allowed to use. They do not carry these items outside of battle unless it's been dug up by themselves.

• • • ▲ Challenging the Gyms – Gym battles are just straightforward affairs. Trainer walks in, challenges leader, is defeated or defeats leader. Please PM the appropriate Gym Leader to schedule a match and remember that they're humans! Not computers at your beck and call!

• • • • Elite Four – In official, League battles, all Elite Four have two Full Restores that they are allowed to use. They do not carry these items outside of battle unless it's been dug up by themselves.

• • • • Champion – In official, League battles, the Champion has three Full Restores that they are allowed to use. They do not carry these items outside of battle unless it's been dug up by themselves. One Master Ball is given upon reaching this status.

• •  Trainer Companions – Six Pokéballs, six Potions OR three Super Potions, and you cannot start out with Pokémon above level twenty and may only have three Pokémon to start with. You must roll up to three 100-sided die to determine what Pokémon are on team. You cannot leave the area you've chosen to be in and you cannot level up until you are traveling with a Gym Challenger. You cannot challenge any gyms. If you decide to become a Gym Challenger then you must box your team and return to Blyse City to pick out a starter. You can only get your old team members back when you have the appropriate badges to control them.

• o Your Starter Pokémon – All Trainers registered to the Pokémon League start off with the same fifteen Pokémon and must be age ten to apply for a Gym Challenge license. For those who have started RPing already and have younger characters do not fret, you have been grandfathered in. If you are under the age of ten then you are allowed to catch and keep with you six Pokémon just the same as any other Trainer, challenge people to battles, and trade in Pokémon Centers. You are not allowed a Pokédex as that's a symbol of someone who's in the Gym Challenge circuit. You must be in the company of a League registered Trainer to do this because of your character's youth. You cannot join Team Celestia if you are under the age of ten. People who aren't challenging gyms but are traveling MUST be in the company of a Gym Challenger to move from their hometown.

• • • ▲ Starter Moves – Starter Pokémon from Valerian's Lab start off at level five and can have as many moves as the limit allows (four) provided that none of them are Egg Moves. Starter Pokémon given out to newbie members of Team Celestia start off at level ten and can also have as many moves as the limit allows provided that none of them are Egg Moves.

• o Wild Pokémon (Player Controlled) – Wild Pokémon controlled by humans cannot start off with Egg Moves and neither can Pokemon caught off the routes. It's not fair to anyone involved. To determine the level of your Pokémon RNG 5-20. The number you get will be your level. Adjust your moves according to that. All Legendary Pokémon start out at level fifty and are shiny blocked.

• • • ▲ Held Items – All wild Pokémon, player controlled and otherwise, have the possibility of holding a specific item when caught. Wild Pokémon controlled by players will have to RNG 1-100 (1-50 gets you nothing, 51-95 gets the item, 96-100 gets the rarer item if the Pokémon in question has more than one Held Item option) to determine if they get the item. The choice of items will not be any different from what they would normally hold in the games.

• o Leveling Up – Catching a Pokémon on the tenth post will not make it level up. You will have to wait until the next time your party levels up. This is because in the wild animals will generally avoid fighting one another if an easier path is available. Humans help Pokémon grow because they know how to help them play to their strengths. If injured they can be healed and back in good condition thanks to their caretakers. This takes care of the worry of crippling injury since medical help just isn't as easy to find in the middle of the woods as it is when in the care of a human. This is why many wild Pokémon will voluntarily battle a Trainer they feel is good enough for them. This furthers the ideal that human–Pokémon relationships are usually beneficial to both parties: humans gain companionship, responsibility, and money while Pokémon gains companionship, access to food/medical care, and strength. The exceptions to these relationships would be those foolish enough to harm wild animals that can wield lightening and fire.

• •  Trainer Companion Leveling Up – You cannot leave the area you've chosen to be in and you cannot level up until you are traveling with a Gym Challenger. You then follow the same rules as a Gym Challenger would for leveling up.

• •  Wild Leveling Up – ALL wild Pokémon need to make twenty posts to level up by ONE level. This changes when you decide to allow yourself to be "caught" by another player's character. It then drops to ten. You DO have to listen to them if they have the badges to make you do so but that doesn't mean you're going to become a mindless automaton devoted to doing whatever you're told on a whim. You are allowed to refuse to become a breeding slave. It's your dignity on the line after all and you don't know WHERE or WHO that Ditto's been with.

• o Evolution – We all know the saying "Evolution's the solution if you're gonna win." While I don't necessarily agree with that statement a lot of people do like to evolve their Pokémon. Pokémon evolution can be done one of six ways:

• • Level Evolution – Post until you reach the proper level. Yes Pokémon can evolve in the middle of battle but that will be up to you as a Trainer once you reach the level needed. The more you post the faster you will level up.

• •  Item Evolution – Many Pokémon evolve with the use of an item such as a stone or other evolution items. The only way to get your hands on many of these items is to dig around the Gabron Ruins, receive them from Gym Leaders, or through future events.

• •  Happiness Evolution Achieving maximum happiness is how certain species of Pokémon evolve. We don't have the same resources as GameFreak so after every level up you get five happiness points. When you get 100 points (twenty posts) your Pokémon can evolve. Your Pokémon must also be holding a Soothe Bell the entire time. Wild PC Pokémon do not need a Soothe Bell to evolve for reasons unexplained by science but they DO need forty posts to evolve.

• •  Time of Day Evolution – If your Pokémon needs to evolve at a certain time of day then you must state the time of day in the post in which you want your Pokémon to evolve. An Umbreon will not come from an Eevee in the middle of the day no matter what the situation or how high the friendship level might be just the same as you wouldn't get a Lucario from a Riolu at midnight.

• •  Area Evolution - Bring your Pokémon to an appropriate area and await the evolution inspired by that environment.

• • • ▲ Moss Rock - Moss Rock is located in the Icunga Forest Orchard.

• • • ▲ Ice Rock - Ice Rock is located in Mount Fros.

• • • ▲ Victory Road - This road allows those Pokémon that require a magnetic field to evolve to do so. A lot of static electricity is bouncing around in these caves for reasons that haven't been figured out yet.

• •  Trade Evolution - Every Pokémon Center has a special trade machine for two Trainers to use to trade a member of their beloved team to someone they trust to take good care of their partner. If a Pokémon evolves when traded then they will do so when put through this machine. Wild PC Pokémon will not be able to reach their final evolution without a Trainer. You must trade in the "canon" RP forums, not the OOC RP otherwise it DOES NOT COUNT. You can advertise your desire for a trade in the Chatterbox but the actual trade MUST HAPPEN IN THE RP FORUMS and in a Pokémon Center.

• o Pokémon Battles – A Pokémon's levels really don't mean much in this guild when you're RPing against another person. You just have access to better moves than someone else. Rather, creativity in battling and taking advantage of types and secondary move effects is more important. This doesn't mean write a page long post detailing exactly what you made your Pokémon do. If they dodged left and then charged at their opponent then say so. Just because you can write a page and a half long post doesn't mean you have to and it doesn't mean that you're any better a writer than someone who posts a simple and to the point four sentence post.

• •  Move Accuracy – Please use the accuracy values from the game to determine if a move hits or misses. If a move hits 75/100 and you RNG 74 the move will hit, if you RNG 76 then the move misses. The only time you have to do this is when you are against a wild PC Pokémon, in a battle with another Trainer, or if a battle has been determined too finicky to be left to anything but dice rolling. If a mod's attention is brought to battle because someone thinks it's unfair then this system will become MANDATORY for the duration of the match.

• •  Ability Effects – Abilities work in Etrua the same way they work in the game.

• • • ▲ Abilities Outside of Battle – Abilities outside of battle work in Etrua the same way they work in the game except where specified. Every ten posts you're allowed to RNG 1-100 to determine if your Pokemon picks up an item appropriate to their Ability and Level. Use this chart to help determine what you get.

• o Obtaining Badges – To obtain a badge you must be a registered member of the Pokémon League – a Gym Challenger. Members of Team Celestia and Trainer Companions cannot challenge Gym Leaders.

• •  Hidden and Technical Machines – Hidden Machines or HMs are generally moves that you make an HM slave learn because they carry you through the game. For this guild we're allowing you to let your Pokémon learn as many HMs they can but only two HMs are available: Fly and Surf. You cannot use these HMs in battle unless you want to take up a move slot – only four move slots are available. Hidden Machines are received whenever your Trainer beats a Gym Leader. Certain Technical Machines are only available by defeating a Gym Leader as well. Check the Pokémart to make sure of what you can and can't get.

• o Obtaining Items – Only Gym Challengers, Team Celestia, and those Trainer Companions that have a Gym Challenger friend can obtain items in this way. Trainer Companions do not need to be in the presence of their Gym Challenger friends to obtain items but they DO have to be traveling with them.

• •  The Gabron Ruins – You must RNG, not roll dice, in this thread to gain items. You must roll dice to encounter Pokémon here unless the 'mon in question is a player controlled 'mon. Then it's a mutual agreement between the involved parties.

• •  The Icunga Forest Orchard – You can obtain many different berries through RNG (not dice rolls) here along with Pokémon normally found in the forest. Player controlled Pokémon are welcome here as well. You must RNG in this thread to gain berries. You must roll dice to encounter Pokémon here unless the 'mon in question is a player controlled 'mon. Then it's a mutual agreement between the involved parties.

• o Obedience Without Badges – Equate Pokémon training to dog training. You show the dog YOU'RE the pack master, not them and they know to obey you. Gym badges do that for kids but adults are mostly in the bad guy teams. They know how to PROPERLY carry themselves as the pack masters because of LIFE EXPERIENCE. When there is no pack leader there is conflict and so they become confused and try to assume leadership by infighting.

Children, while confident, aren't AS confident with their Pokémon because let's face it, they can KILL them no matter WHAT level they're at. Adults know this but they also know that if they want to show that they're in charge they have to project that air of, "I'm the leader, I'm the master, I'm the one running this show and you will deal with it." The badges are a confidence builder for the kids. Only people who are not a part of the Pokémon League can walk around without badges and have their Pokémon obey them. If a Trainer Companion decides they want to enter the League then they must box all of their Pokémon, return to the beginning of the routes, pick a starter, and begin their journey the same way every other Gym Challengers does. They will not be able to pull their old team members from the PC until they have the appropriate badges to control those Pokémon. This is out of fairness for everyone.

Important: Only people who are not a part of the Pokémon League can walk around without badges and have their Pokémon obey them.

• The Pokémon League

• o Whittling Down the Challengers – At the end of your journey you will face one final contest against your peers before being allowed to move on to challenge the Elite Four and Champion. A four person tournament made up of whoever's cleared Victory Road first will take place. The winner will then be allowed to take on the Elite Four. If they defeat the Elite Four then the way is cleared to take on the Champion.

• o The Elite Four – The Elite Four don't need to be battled in any specific order. Each Elite Four member will have a team anywhere from the mid-sixties to the mid-seventies. They each carry two Full Restores on their person.

• o The Champion – The Champion is your final barrier to greatness. They will carry three Full Restores on their person. If you become the new Champion then you will receive a Master Ball as a sign of your achievement.
