Well, Weapons did mean fighting, Rho guessed. Holding the nunchucks, he did a practice twirl before stopping as one of the girls got closer. Iota clear on her arm.
His arm came around Iota's shoulders, pulling her tight to his side. "Baby, with me around, you got nothing to worry about. I'll make sure all you have to do is uh...beat the dead horse or something." His masked gaze went to Tau next. "What she said, I mean damn girl." He wasn't sure if that was cheerfully morbid, or because he didn't find it odd she spoke that way, that it was just a normal occurance to STAB someone in the KIDNEYS...when they were DOWN.
Yeah totally normal.
"Guess we'll find out when we start this...game yeah?" He kept Iota close still. "Then we'll see who stays at the top here...."

"Okay," Iota said, her body language relaxing as the others spoke, even though Tau's cheerful propensity for violence surprised her. "I'm really glad to have someone to help me," she went on brightly, not objecting at all to Rho's arm over her shoulders. "I feel better." She held the club up and studied it through the red lenses of her mask. "Kneecaps," she mused. "I guess I can do that." She'd just leave the stabbing to Tau. Tau seemed to be looking forward to it.

Tau bobbed her head several times, pleased that Iota was alright with the plan and that (of all things) she had elicited a curse from Rho. His casualness about it also seemed to bolster her morale. "Great! Okay. We'll be a super team~" Tau decided with a smile in her voice, coming to Rho's other side. Well Iota was doing it at any rate, so that meant his other arm was open right? The flirting aspect appeared lost on her as she tugged the guy's free arm about her shoulders.
"But, uh . . . I'm no good at hand-to-hand. I think." She peered down at her feet for a moment, thinking. "...Yeah, getting nothing. I think I'd be squashed first 'cause I'm short. You guys mind being the distraction if we face a big guy? I think kidneys are in the back of the body anyway . . . Or is it the liver?" She tapped her mask thoughtfully, tilting her head up to the ceiling. "Spleen? Well something's gotta be back there, unless they have that disease that shifts organs around in your body. There's a disease like that, right?"

At their side something vibrated and all at once the air was filled with nearly a dozen phones playing the same ringtone at once. The message was hardly reassuring, but did reinforce their very distinct goal in the: survive. The candidtates weren't given much time to contemplate or plan, as moments after, the tide receeded and a massive wave formed and twisted into a massivewatery hand that struck out at them. Hand of WaterHP: 50 Auto Damage: 4 (hit or miss) Escape: roll 2d10, 10 or higher means your hunter escapes and leaves the base area/thread, failures cause 4 auto damage! The OOC PVP IS ON! If you have not yet filled in your post, your hunter receives 4 damage right away for not being fully awake yet! If you die, go here! Exiting this thread: All you need to do is escape the hand, then you may enter into a prp/solo/orp Available rp locations: - cornfields - beach - lighthouse - abandoned town - jungle To exit one area and enter another: you need to travel, which takes time in addition to dealing with lots of hidden dangers. When you want to leave one area and enter another (with the exception of this one time) you need to roll a d100 two separate times and deal with what comes your way. Multiple people can battle one creature. 1-25: Nothing Happens 26-50: Quote: Something seems to stir in the fog, and then leaps towards you! HP: 3 Auto Damage: 3 Quote: 51-75: Something seems to stir in the fog, and then leaps towards you! HP: 4 Auto Damage: 4 Quote: 76-100: Something seems to stir in the fog, and then leaps towards you! HP: 5 Auto Damage: 5

As Omega found her bearings thoughts started to coalesce into something more than simply rampant bloody chaos. Some subconscious thread decided that she was female. This much she knew based on the shape of her body, running hands across the vague curves under the suit. She was female and therefore on some levels she knew there were ways she should act. She should be cunning and slimy and clingy and more catty than a sack of kittens.
Yes, that sounded about right. The red lady.
She listened intensely to what the others said as they chatted. Rho seemed like a good strong man, already giving out battle tips, he'd maybe be able to protect her, the other women though, she wasn't sure what to make of them. She almost wished she had a weapon already.
The texts went off and she eyed her phone. Only five make it off eh? Well then. She'd be sure to fight tooth and nail to be in those final five but to get there she'd need very male help, she was only a woman after all, she couldn't do these things alone.
Just as she was about to go and see about talking one of the men around to her way of thinking, they were attacked. She had no weapon. She decided the first test of today would be finding a man that survived this attack. And to do that, she had to get out of there too. It wasn't as easy as it looked, the massive watery hand didn't want to seem to let her go.
"Help, help! Won't somebody save me?" she tried sounding like she was in peril in the hopes this upped her chances

Alpha was staring at her phone. She'd been staring at it for a good minute now. The text they had all received made her sick to her stomach. Were they.. like.. supposed to kill each other? Or maybe, maybe they were just supposed to survive, until all but five remained?
Yeah, she assured herself as she put the phone away quickly and headed out of the tent. That's what they mean. The world was a harsh place, and things were going to try to kill them. They just needed.. to.. survive.
As if the hand of God came down from the heavens to pimp slap the naivety out of her, she felt herself swept up by the water, and struggled violently to get out. She heard someone calling for help, but her last train of thought was still heavy in her mind. Survive.. survive.. she had to make it out of here alive before she could help anybody else.
Thrashing against the wave, she barely managed to budge herself, and it was all she could do to keep her head above the chilling water that tried to pull her in.

Hmm? Oh, something was vibrating against her hip. So they did let them have some form of tech . . . But only five could make it? Oh dear.
As Tau considered what that would entail, the soothing sound of the waves decidedly stopped. Blinking, the turned to watch the water form into a massive hand - and then yelped and staggered back as it crashed against two of her teammates. Of course the first thing they had to face didn't have kidneys to shiv. Or any internal organs.
Or did it? Squick.
"Upupupup!" Tau squeaked, darting to each member's fallen forms to try and help them up - rather, force them up with her haste. "This way, quick before it gets you again!"
And just like the the little, lithe figure fled through the tent flap.(( Exit! ))

She barely heard the voice yelling at her, but she tried to follow it, her muscles straining as she pulled herself free of the giant hand of water. She tumbled onto the sand, but as soon as she felt the solid ground underneath her, she pushed herself up and stumbled into a full force run. She wanted to get away from that thing as quickly as possible - and nothing was going to stop her from it. She hardly saw the streak of someone running away, and her instinct told herto follow them. Whoever it was, they clearly had the same idea she had. "H-hey, wait UP!" HP: 26 ((Exit!))

Helped to her feet, she staggered just a bit before that very intense desire for survival came back twofold.
"Thank you honey!" she called out after the retreating form before focusing on following them, scrabbling frantically away from the hand as it crashed to the ground behind her, just inches from her. This wouldn't ******** do - the ******** seemed oddly out of place in her panicked thoughts - this wouldn't do at all. She had to make it to the end, she'd come here for a reason right? She had to have.
Somehow she got clear, and got away from the dangerous thing as fast as possible.

Beta silently stared at the others. He appeared to have mild interest in the small group conversing, but the unimpressed scoff at Rho as he hit himself with his own pair of nunchucks suggested otherwise. Beta attempted to figure out how to properly use his weapon without making a fool of himself like the other candidate had.
Ughughughugh. All of a sudden there were ringing phones and it was so goddamn annoying. Sighing and grumbling incoherent words to himself, Beta pulled out his phone and stared at the message. Only five survivors? Only seven days? This was ******** bullshit. Someone remind him why he had agreed to this troublesome thing in the first place.
He couldn’t even begin to think of what to do next when he heard loud waves crashing together. The noise caught his attention, so Beta looked over just in time to see the water rise up to form a giant hand. What. The. ********? Was this for real? The hand was even reaching out toward him. Tightly clutching his weapon, Beta hightailed it out of there.

The message was both distracting and distressing. Iota stared at it for some time, fidgeting and leaning on Rho for support. She'd have to ask. Would Rho and Tau continue to be nice to her? Or was it a free-for all, everybody for themselves?
And then the question became rather less abstract, as the water became a HUGE HAND, which twisted and came lashing out at them. Two masked figures went down beneath its watery palm. Were they supposed to fight it? "B-but - it doesn't have kneecaps!" Iota yelped, sounding genuinely distressed.
Tau was running. Oh. Well, then, clearly that was what they were doing. Iota scuttled after Tau.

Well, that had definitely not been an encouraging message. His team? How could they expect them to act as a team with a message like that? Sooner or later they were going to have to turn on each other. Then again, after giving it some careful thought, a team wasn't such a bad plan after all. If you were caught on your own, the chances of survival were slim, but if you moved in say--a small group, the odds were definitely much better.
Keeping that in mind, Psi gripped his weapon and moved back, away from the boss. There was no need to fight something when you had the option to avoid it entirely. They were told to survive and that was exactly what Psi planned to do.

It was the synchronous collective of ringing phones that pulled her from her thoughts, back to the reality that was proving to make less and less sense. The others appeared to be answering their phones, and...she hesitated. What pleasant thing would possibly come from moving along with the herd? Just mediocrity. A bland demise. She hung back from the group, waited to ensure that nothing immediately came of the message, concluded that it seemed relatively safe.
And only then did she acknowledge it, eyes skimming over the dark text embedded within the red-tinted glow of the phone.
A smile crept across her face. Crooked and curious.
"A truly fascinating social experiment..." she mused quietly aloud, thumb ghosting almost affectionately over the screen just before she replaced the phone.
The situation that just could not have gotten more interesting did, in a very literal wave of intrigue. It swept over a couple of her fellow subjects, and her eyes were alight behind the thick lenses of the mask, gloved hand tightly gripping that measly little stake of a weapon. It was deceptively magical, but that was illogical and ridiculous...so how did it work?
She was drawn towards it, stepping into its sloshing wake, pausing to momentarily stare it down. What makes you tick, water thing?
But everyone else was running. The herd knew when it was in danger, at least, and she wasn't idiotic enough to pretend that the flight bit of that fight or flight instinct was not a viable option.
With a sidelong glance at the watery appendage, she ran.
