THE LAST DRINK
[ Bar ]
Theme Music
(This Role-Play is only for role-playing in or outside of the bar.)

The Last Drink is set along the river just off of the main River Road. It's a large, be it flat one story building. With an old wooden stair case leading from the river shore into the ground. Though it seems like a floods best dream, it's never had a problem at all. The door leading into the bar is heavy dark cherry wood with a black door handle.

Inside the bar is a cozy, dim lit room. Nothing more. With booths and tables spread amongst the worn wooden floor, a juke box in the corner, and a large wooden bar with simple cushioned stools. Behind the bar is a door that leads to the back, where a kitchen and store room sits.

The Last Drink was the first neutral establishment. It caters to everyone, no matter what. However you will never see a barroom brawl in this place, in fact it's impossible to have a negative emotion as soon as you've walked in the door.

Owner(s):
Annaleese and Rownan McShane are both the owners and siblings. Annaleese was once a Gray Ash Child but she lost both her legs and one of her arms in a terrible sacrifice gone wrong. Afterwards she left in good standing with both the Gray Ash Children and The Unseen Eye Detective Agency. Her brother Rownan then moved to the city to take care of her and helped her to open the bar.

They're fae born or at least mostly fae. With their charms and powers they can influence the emotions of the people who enter the bar. No matter who they are pretty much. Annaleese stays out of sight most of the time, only socializing after midnight, but before ten in the morning. Rownan keeps the bar open twenty four hours, leaving it to be tended by a stand in barkeep and his sister only for six hours.

Rownan carried the large crate with ease. He set it on the floor and pried it open. Revealing the top class rum from the Caribbean. He took pride in the quality of all the drinks and brands they had. This was one of his favorites. It had such a heavy and sweet flavor. The spice was perfect. It was almost impossible to get. However thanks to a deal with Tears of Heaven, they each got a fair shipment of it to their establishments. It was a fair trade in all honesty. They both paid for it and went half and half on it.

He restocked the bottles before he heard the soft treading of wheels on plush carpet. Annaleese was checking up on the bar again. She'd been having troubles sleeping and seemed worried about something. Rownan had tried to ask, but she wouldn't speak to him about it. He finished his chore before looking out to the main room. There she was, sitting at a table with her head lolled to the side and those all too wide eyes staring at space.

Annaleese should have been gruesome. Pitiable even! Never. She was radiant. Her charm was in her pale skin. In her long white hair. Her soft features. She was beautiful. Even crippled and in her wheelchair. She was desirable just by her spicy scent! Even as a fellow fae; and her brother, he found the allure stronger then he'd ever admit.

"Anna..." He announced himself and slid his strong arms around her shoulders softly. He nuzzled her neck and took in that warm fall scent. She didn't move or speak. She was the most beautiful corpse you'd ever see. "Shouldn't you be resting?" Rownan inquired and caressed her cheek lightly. She gently touched his hand and shook her head finally supporting it with the strength in her neck. She looked at him in a daze and kissed his cheek. "Can I help?" Her voice was strong and warm. It didn't fit her frail exterior.

Rownan was the opposite of his sister. He was tall, broad, muscular, and resembled a thin polar bear. His laugh shook the room and his eyes were sweet ember. He nuzzled his sisters cheek playfully and nodded. "Of course you can. As long as you promise not to over do it." She didn't argue with him.

Annaleese took over instructing him in the proper organization for the shelves that day and took up station behind the bar incase a customer should arrive while Rownan cleaned up. There were only a few calm stragglers right now. Nothing rowdy or unkempt.

A man walked into the bar. He was dressed in a tailored black suit and hat with a deep red shirt. He clearly looked like he had money, yet he carried himself with a sense of confidence and power that made would-be muggers think twice before trying anything. He took a seat at the bar, smiled at Annaleese and ordered his usual whiskey.

When he took off his hat someone who looked closely might be able to notice an oddity about his hair. Nestled the slicked back strands were horns curved to match the hair. The man was Klim'sarul and he was a demon.

He wasn't just any demon. Klim, to his friends, had lived for longer than anyone could remember, himself included, and been in more battles than he could count. He had tormented mortals. He had slain angels. He had risen to be one of Hells generals and once even led Hell itself, for an ever so brief time.

And then he had grown tired. The war with Heaven never ended. Tides shifted. Victories were won. Defeats were suffered. But in the end nothing changed. What was won today was lost tomorrow and the war continued with neither side any closer to victory. In fact he could remember how the map looked when he first joined the war so many millennia ago. It looked much the same as it did now.

So he left.

Now he was a negotiator. Seeking to bring some respite from the conflict if only for a little while at a time. Having everyone want him dead, Heaven for what he had been and Hell for leaving, put him in the unique position of being oddly trusted by both sides.

He often used The Last Drink for his meetings. He still considered stumbling upon it his greatest stroke of luck. It made an ideal location when dealing with people who despised each other. But today he wasn't expecting anyone for a few hours so he could sit and enjoy his drink.

we go forth tirelessly
like both of us are empty
he only sees what once was,
and I'm the mockingbird
I must live for her

Tap. Tap. Boom. Tap. Tap...
This rhythmic sound continued as if counting off a beat to a song. The soft tapping led by a loud explosion of air. The sounds approached the large black door of the bar. A muffle moment of voices followed by a finally release of pressured air and then just soft whirring. The door opened and a young woman held it for another.

Her hair colorful appearance the loudest thing in the bar. Her backpack with what appeared to be wires and tubes. The strange green liquid glowing softly. All these wires and tubes seemed connected to the young girl. A silver moon bounced at the end of her hat as she smiled and giggled. "Come on! I wanna eat!" She whined to the companion coming down the stairs.

Jhama parked his car to the side of the building that held the Last Drink. "Alright before we go in you should..." the passenger's door slammed shut and he looked at the now empty seat. A small twitch of his eyebrow and an annoyed sneer. "She's gone." He took a deep breath and counted to ten. Making her wait would be punishment enough. The girl couldn't sit still to save her life.

Leaving the car he whistled and the colorful girl stopped at the entrance. He sauntered over and told her to turn off her backpack for no and switch to mobile energy. He was glad she listened to him. Jhama still wasn't used to the demon-droid. He'd just been assigned her a week ago after all.

She whined and held the door for him. "I'm coming. You need to learn patience." He chastised and walked past her. As soon as he did he noticed the mellow feel that seemed to surround him. The rumors were true. It was subtle but he figured that this kind of atmosphere was the fae charm at work. He headed to the bar and ordered himself a white Russian. "Urabe? What do you want? I'll pay." He offered to her with a flash of his normal dazzling charm.
