The sight of red made her taking in a breath of relief, only to start coughing as sand shot up her tentacles. The coughs were an audible sound, which did not deter her thoughts as she beelined for Malodore. Sorry I'm late. I didn't want to leave Death without a chance at seeing everything. It wasn't worth it. But at least there, she could breathe - though the smell of iron had been uncomfortable, the sand here was doing a number on her breathing tubes.
She looked around, trying to find any sort of interesting sight in the tunnels dug into the ground, but it wasn't easy. So, this is Famine?
She did not sound impressed.
The noises coming from below were starting to catch her attention, though.

Malodore turned with a smile, amused at the sudden tiny tentacle-coughs. "Si, this is Famine - or part of it, at least. It seems my favorite rooms are not open for us to view. Ah, you would love the greenhouses, and the comfort of the cavern we spent our days in as a dormitory... the fascination of our instructors, who carry bugs in their bellies and know the secrets of creation and destruction."
... Clearly Famine had a fanboil fanghoul fan.
Malodore tilted its head, though, as it too began to detect the sounds from below. It frowned - was that where the glyph had been, below? The horrible thing that had pulled them all in? Its gaze flicked to where the door had been located that fateful day. "Do you hear that, mia cara?" it added, quietly.
Malodore is investigating~

I do. Riley murmured, taking hold of Malodore's hand and pulling the plague doctor close. Do me a favor, and stay by me, all right? Her hand tremored slightly as she felt that FEAR, and located it's source - the corner of the door that wasn't very easy to see unless you knew what you were looking for.
When I was on the Isle of War, there was this one room..

Shehk's ears perked up at the sound of some rather familiar individuals moving through the tunnels, the Pricolici breaking from the group to backtrack and see who it was. She wouldn't really have been the best for stealth in the dark, but as a flashlight?
Perfect.
"Well! A pair of lovely and familiar faces over here I see!" she greeted to both Malodore and Riley, moving to half-drape herself on the mindflayer, her tail wagging. She was somewhat damp and covered in sand from her experience with the Kelpie-plant that had attempted to drown her, looking up at Riley sadly.
There's way too much sand. her eyes seemed to say.

"-perhaps one that tried to siphon your FEAR?" Malodore interrupted Riley, nodding. "There is such a room underneath here as well. I assume the Horsemen are down there, perhaps..." It hesitated. "There is, ah, also. Something else." It turned its head to look at Shehk, its tone turning sober and serious. "If you might, ah, relay for me, Riley..." This information was too sensitive to speak aloud, but it opened its memory to her and revealed the room deep below, with the caged and broken humans. Real humans. This is what they are doing. It is... if it were our kind they were doing this to, I would be utterly repulsed. As it is, I am not certain what to think... Carried along with the image was Malodore's emotional unease. Hunters would have to die, no question... but it was far, far less certain when it came to non-combatants.

As the students investigate further, they notice a cloaked figure walking into the room. They suddenly freeze, turning around: and run into the tunnel. Generally, one did not follow cloaked figures and lived to tell the tale.
That's what Fallow had always heard at least.
Oh well.
His tail swished to and fro though, and without thinking, he rumbled and followed the glowing Pricolici, hoping Dev and Bon would at least help back him up.
He was probably going to get himself killed. But wasn't that part of the fun of it? Maybe, maybe not.

Mercy entered the den to see a small handful of students already there. They were checking things out, much like she was. She went to sit at one of the tables, noticing it was a natural mound of stone. "Oh." Her attention was diverted when she saw a cloaked figure. Oddly enough she stood up, and ran into the tunnel.

Although Yaya had found a little slice of something familiar over on conquest, she had ultimately decided to return to the isle of Famine. Why? Where Conquest had held the elegance and nobility she had grown up with, Famine's landscape did more to set the djinn at ease. So when they'd been turned away at the portal, Hadiyya had taken her belongs and returned to the first place she'd visited so far on her trip.
For a short time things seemed to be carrying on in a normal fashion, people went about their business as they had the last two weeks, minus the classes of course, and the demon ghoul was actually enjoying herself.
It was when she'd sat down in the den along with some of her fellow students that she noticed something was a little off. A feeling in the air, or just a nagging sense. It was confirmed as a cloaked figure captured the attention of her classmates, and like the majority of them, she got up as well to follow.
