C'rci & Bolth -
Attempting to - Stitch
List passed sections here - (3)(4)(4)

Unrolling the bandages and being careful to wipe the numbweed off of her lifemate's side, deciding to go back to doing some more stitching once she had freed Bolth C'rci picked up the hide once more.

Don't forget to squirm love. C'rci reminded the steely blue as Bolth flopped over onto his side as she draped the hide on him and began her stitching. It was only a quick shift and a steady hand that kept C'rci's needle from slipping as Bolth growing bored rolled onto his back his little wings spread and neck stretched out.

Am I squirming enough Mine? I can squirm more if you like? Bolth replied always one aiming to please, his enthusiastic shifting drawing a chuckle from C'rci.

You're a very wibbly wobbly wriggly squiggly dragon dear heart of Mine. She answered her chuckle lifting into a light hearted laugh as she felt Bolth swell with pride at his rider's praise.

Oh! Hello Adamanth friend! Mine is doing quite well with the threading and the wrapping and the putting of the sticks on ones tail. How is your two-legged wingless one doing in his task? The string seems to be giving him some trouble, but I'm sure with practice he'll get better! Mine is very good with the string. She is Queen two-legger of string! I'm sure she'd lend aid to yours if asked? Mine is very good at making things right. Bolth chirruped chipperly back at Adamanth practically vibrating with glee at the chance for an interesting conversation.

From C'rci's shoulder Fasha peered from Bolth to Adamanth before trilling down at the steely blue. Wasn't he supposed to be squirming?

This accompanied with a light nudge from his rider sent Bolth once more into a squirming fit where he lay on his back belly in the air looking at Adamanth upside down with his happily whirling blue and green eyes.

C'rci's stitches for all her blue's squirming had come out neat and tight. Not healer level and they would definitely leave a scar, but the work would hold and not likely need to be redone. Satisfied with the repair she tied it off and shifted her attention to another rip in the hide.

After Enyo had asked what else was to be done she noticed O'thor was struggling. Though she never spoken to the boy she still thought to help him. She then asked the teacher, "Ma'm, May I help him find a steady hand? Or is this a single activity and out side help not allowed?"

Jineth looked over to the silver and then his rider; she was hoping Enyo would be allowed to help and that she can get the silver's attention to help him not fight ageist his partner.

Mercy had been about to answer Enyo's question about the rest of the lesson when she switched topics and asked if she could help O'thor instead - cause the boy still seemed to be having trouble getting the hang of stitching. "Of course, I always encourage helping others there will be a day where you will all be depending on each other in the sky, learning to work together now will mean you will know how to work together later on" She pointed out with a smile.

It was nice to see helpful tendencies, although all in all she was quite pleased with how this lesson was going anyways - everyone was putting forth quite an effort. Well except for Morgaine - she still seemed to be sorting through her supplies but given her healing background Mercy wasn't to worried about that.

Rider & Dragon - Morgaine & Palooth
Attempting to - Bandage
List passed sections here - Bandage (rolled 2 +2 for background)

Now that the others had all done their lessons, most of the passing with only a few tries Morgaine finally settled in to work on her own. She had wanted to scope out the competition of the group before doing so. But also she kept checking over her supplies, perhaps far too many times in others minds, yet this was not a real emergency, there was no rush, no actual life to save in this test. So Morgaine was afforded the luxury of delay. Once she shifted through the supplies one more time she settled upon trying to bandaging first. It was a simple task, something she had learned some time ago but practice never hurt anyone.

In fact if she was truthful with herself Morgaine was downright thrilled the first part of these lessons dealt with her life's passion...or at least a part of it. Unrolling the bandage a bit Morgaine set to work. Palooth did a great job of playing an injured dragon. The black began to wiggle and move about, occasionally tossing an amused look at Morgaine. While others might be flustered by the movement and the difficulty it added to the test Morgaine tackled it without issue. Her hands moved with Palooth's movements, never letting the bandage go slack once. With a final tug she tied off the bandage and looked at her handy work. It was perfect and Morgaine smiled and rubbed Palooths head. "It is very good Mine." Yes, it was very good, but there were still two more tests to be. Leaving the bandage in place Morgaine glanced at the supplies wondering which to tackle next, splint or stitches?

Rider & Dragon - Morgaine & Palooth
Attempting to - Splint
List passed sections here - Bandage (rolled 2 +2 for background), Splint (rolled a 4)

Her fingers landed on the splint first and so that was the next test to tackle. "Let's see how well this works." She mumbled to Palooth and moved so that she knelt closer to his tail. "Try not to enjoy it too much." She told the black in an amused tone. This of course was not the first time she had practice healed on Palooth, there had been a time or two since the hatching that she had had Paooth pretend to be ill or injured so she had something to do when things were quiet. Palooth began to swish his tail about, making it hard to grab hold of it. "Palooth, you are supposed to be hurt, that is far too much movement for someone with a broke bone." The tail slowed, moving only a little now. "Sorry Mine".

Now that Palooth's tail wasn't thrashing about like a happy puppies would Morgaine set to work. She had forgotten about the others around them, including Mercy her friend and instructor. A look of concentration came to her face as she carefully straightened the tail, while Palooth made sounds of pain, then holding the stick alongside it began to wrap a lenght of bandage around. Slowly the splint became more stable until she came to the end of the length of bandage and tied it off. Another excellent job. "It feels funny Mine." Palooth tried to wiggle his tail btu the splint restricted the movement.

Rider & Dragon - Morgaine & Palooth
Attempting to - Stitching
List passed sections here - Bandage (rolled 2 +2 for background), Splint (rolled a 4), Stitching (rolled a 4)

Well if Palooth said it felt funny then Morgaine would leave it there for a while longer. That should be a bit of punishment for what the dragon did the other day. Morgaine had not enjoyed the black knocking her notes and samples about in order to gain her attention which had been focusing on her research and not the black. "Just be glad it's not actually broken." She told the black and then reached for the hide that would serve as the base for her stitching. "Now roll onto your side." As Palooth complied Morgaine laid the hide on him before gathering the appropriate needle and thread.

Onec she was ready to begin Palooth started with wriggle and moan, much like he would if this was a real injury. Placing her hand down near the 'wound' Morgaine placed the needle against the hide and began her work. It was slow and steady process, as she paused her and there to make she the needle wouldn't prod Palooth due to his wiggling state. Poke and pull, poke and pull, Morgaine continued the pattern until she reached the end, trying it off it a clean knot. Satisfied she put the needle away and took a small step back to admire her work. The stitches were perfectly spaced even though Palooth had done his best to be an extremely wiggly patient. Now that the three tests were done Morgaines tunnel vision cleared and she remembered about the others around her. Glancing up Morgaine looked to Mercy, she did not needs the others approval or acceptance on her well done job, just that of her instructor.

Despite the trouble that some people had had in the end everyone had managed to do each task in a satisfactory manner. The next time Thread fell and they had wounded in the Weyr Mercy was sure that the added hands and experience gained here today would help and that was the least she could do since she wouldn't be allowed to fly thread herself. It was a guilt that rode heavily on her.

'We do what we can' Aerith told her lightly 'I could fly thread, I know I could - but others do not agree and so we do what we can to help elsewhere' The white pointed out logically. Mercy smiled slightly at her dragon, she had a feeling that not being allowed to fly thread stuck in the whites craw more then it did her own in the end but Aerith had always borne the restriction with grace. Of course now was not the time to dwell on such thoughts and she turned her attention back to the Weyrlings, some of them were still working and she noted that Morgaine had finished with her tasks.

Wandering over to her friend while the others still practiced she scratched Palooth on the head knowing that neither Morgaine nor the black would mind her attentions, something she refrained from doing with others without permission as some dragons and t did not like being touched by anyone but their's and some riders were touchy about it as well. "Well I knew you wouldn't have any trouble" She told her friend quietly with a slight laugh "But I'm glad you came, I was pretty sure I'd completely fail as a teacher - despite Aerith's confidence." She added in a conspiratorial whisper. It was true, she'd been more then a little bit nervous and knowing that her friend was here had lent her a bit more inner confidence.

Giving Palooth one more affectionate pat She turned back to the rest of the class "You've all done very well and while I hope the skills we practiced here today won't be needed all the often it's good to know you all know them for when they are" Making her way up to the the tables where she'd gotten the original supplies she pulled out one more small stack of cloth circles and started passing them out to everyone. "Just a small token to show that you've passed my first aid class" She told them "Your all dismissed although please..feel free to stay behind if you have any questions or come and visit me and Aerith any time if you need help with something we're always free" She invited them "The next class will deal with the care of leather - since your all going to be looking after a riding harness very soon!"

Glancing up as Mercy approached Morgaine smiled at her friend while Palooth crooned at the attention."Are you kidding, this is child play to what I can do." She said motioning to Palooth who was still bound with bandages and covered in the hide. He didn't seem too bothered by it so Morgaine chose to leave him like that while she spoke to Mercy. "Well I didn't have much of a choice." Morgaine joked, though honestly it was true, she was expected to show up to thee lessons, the fact that Mercy was her teacher just made them that much more pleasant to come to. "You're a good teacher." She told her friend, all joking aside now. "I'm glad it's you and not some stranger I have to deal with."

As Mercy walked away Morgaine glanced down at Palooth. "Do I have to stay like this much longer Mine?" Morgaine looked thoughtfully at the dragon for a few moments before answering. "No, I think you've been tied up long enough." Carefully she removed the hide, then the splint on his tail and finally the bandages. Now released from hsi confines Palooth rolled around on the ground crooning happily. "You just earned yourself a bath!" Darn Palooth always getting dirty. She would need to wash up as well, who know what she could have touched while out here.Gathering up the supplies Morgaine placed them back with the others, took the badge from Mercy and showed it to Palooth. "See, getting tied up is a good thing." Then she turned her attention back to Marcy. "When you have some spare time I'd like to talk to you." It wasn't anything important, just two friends catching up as they had both been busy as of late. "I'll be in my quarters."

Since they were done with the lessons and officially excused Morgaine led Palooth back to their room. The badge needed to be put somewhere safe before she set about cleaning herself and Palooth then they would wait and hope Mercy would come by.
