Vinteren the Ermine Mononoke Name: Vinteren Nicknames: Vin, Weasel Age: 24 Sex: Male Preference: Bisexual (though he hasn't actually DATED anyone)Race: Human Position: Ermine Mononoke Rank: Witch Likes: the quiet of the forest, fresh snow fall, full moons, the quiet company of friends. Dislikes: Very loud people, people who make fun of his appearance, being hot, people touching his ears. Hobbies: Vin collects small shiney bits and bobbles to make necklaces. He's popular with the small girls around his apartment because he's "the cool boy who makes pretty necklaces." During the winter, Vin is also an amazing ice sculpter. He practices with soft marble during the spring and summer. PersonalityVin enjoys cooler weather, getting overheated quickly during the summer. He prefers staying indoors when it is too hot, venturing out during the night until fall and winter arrives. In fact he adores the night-time since he can move through the streets without too many people staring at his very white appearance. He becomes sensitive when the topic is brought up; having a very low opinion of himself. His appearance is more beastial that he would like and feels as if he will become more monstrous as he gains more power. This can make him rather depressed and seek solitude. He has a love for shiny things which he likes to make into necklaces, he always has one with him. His small apartment near the school has shelves filled with different things he's found while walking around or in shops. Vin normally has a very neutral look upon the world at large, seeing both sides of an argument and attempting to reach a mutual agreement. Jarren had taught him that everything has a consequence in nature so one must always look for an answer that benefits both sides. He is an excellent arbitrator when it comes to disputes and will not take sides lightly. Even if he does he will attempt to be a voice of reason and agreement. This leads to more than a few people saying he always tries to weasel out of an argument by giving up something to get something else. No matter what they say he believes in the balance of nature, that all things should benefit each other in ways sometimes not even seen. But deep down there is one thing that Vin cannot and will not make an excuse for or find balance in understand. He hates witch eaters with an absolute passion. The memories of his parents' deaths, seeing his mother killed by one, is still living in his memories. Sometimes it comes back to him in a nightmare. This is the only time Vin will speak very negatively about anything. He will attack them on sight, with no reservations, and with a blood thirsty zeal to it. He wants them to suffer and they will die. He doesn't care how big or powerful they are, witch eaters deserve nothing but death. He hides this part of himself from almost everyone, refusing to even talk about the subject unless forced. Magical Concentration/Theme: Vin is a winter warrior. He uses ice and snow magic. History Vin was the only child of a magical family who lived close to the forest edge. His father was a wood-cutter who used transmutation power and his mother was a weaver with enchantment abilities. They lived a simple but happy life, looking forward to the day their son would discover his magical talents, each hoping he showed talent in one of theirs. But sadly they would never see their son's talent. It was the dead of winter and Vin had been to town to buy some supplies. Upon returning home , Vin discovered his parents' home ablaze. His father lay dead at the front of the house. He heard a horrible scream come from around the back, his mother's voice crying out. He ran around to see a horrible witch eater, like some monstrous creature devour his mother's witch heart then kill her. The witch eater turned and saw the small boy, then smiled malevolently. Vin was at first frozen to the spot, fear swimming his heart. He felt like he was getting smaller and smaller as the witch eater approached. That's when he realised he WAS getting smaller. The witch eater was momentarily surprised by the sudden change in his target. Sleek and fast, Vin had become a snow white stoat with a black tipped tail. It was this realization that made him move and move fast. He ran for the forest, the only place he could think of to hide from his pursuer. He found a small tunnel and curled up inside it until the witch eater gave up and moved on. Vin came back out, the sudden fear and sadness of suddenly being alone made him cry. But his cries were heard by a druid whom had lived alone in the forest for years. He had avoided the family, seeking solitude. But the appearance of the witch eater had drawn him out to make sure his forest was safe. It was he, Jarren, that found little Vin curled up by his father's body crying. At first the druid was confused as to why a weasel would cry so, then Vin transformed back into his small boy form. Though now his ears and tail were quite prominent and it seemed his nails were now sharp claws. Jarren would have just taken him into town and dropped him off to let them deal with him but the boy's affinity for shapeshifting gave him pause. He hadn't seen a shapeshifter that took so much of the animal's shape with him when in human form. Even the boy's skin was now as white as the stoat's coat. He offered to take Vin to live with him in the forest until he was old enough to enter the academy. Having no one else to go to, Vin agreed. The two lived alone in the forest, with Vin only visiting town when he had to get some things for Jarren. He showed promise in magic but the druid was unable to help him learn more beyond the basics. Finally Vin was old enough to enter the academy and passed with flying colors. But there he saw others who had been hurt by the witch eaters, a hatred began to burn in him despite the neutral teachings of Jarren. It was after graduating that he resolved to become a reaper.

List of Spells This is wear I will list most of Vin's spells. WeakSnowball: Exactly like it sounds, Vin creates a snowball. It is an excellent surprise weapon as well as distracting once the cold sets in. Deep Freeze: Vin touches a small body of water and instantly turns it into ice. This makes a very slippery trap. Ice Dagger: Vin creates small but sharp daggers of ice. He can stab or throw them to cause damage. MediumIce Fist: Vin incases his fist in a block of ice and hits you with it. This hurts like getting hit with stone but can be broken. Ice Breath: With some concentration Vin can let out an icey breath that can freeze water and burn skin. It's like freezer burn. It is an excellent defense when blown into an opponant's face. Cold Armor: Vin incases his vital areas in ice, protecting him. This is not as strong as real metal armor, it is weak against smashing weapons but strong against blades. StrongWinter Storm: Concentrating Vin can create a small snowstorm. It's easier in the winter for him to make a bigger storm. In the summer he can barely muster enough and it drains him. Ice Spike: Vin hits the ground and concentrates his energy through it, making large spikes of ice shot up from the ground.

Plot Ideas Bromance: Vin needs a guy friend he can do....guy stuff....with. But he will also ask for social advice, specifically about dating and girls. Being raised by a hermit has it's draw backs. Beauty to his Beast: With Vin's idea that he is monstrous he needs a nice someone who will be his beauty and look past it. This can lead to romance or unrequited love on his part! Angst is fun! And he has no preference for male or female. Motherly Influence: Vin still has nightmares of seeing his mother murdered. So I'd like him to find someone who could be like a surrogate mom to him. Valley Girl Friend: Ah yes, I love torturing him. Vin needs a friend who will basically drag him out into social situations like shopping and parties. He will always go, if nothing else than to protect his friend but it will be.....uncomfortable. Especially if that person dresses him XD Mentor: Vin needs someone to channel his energy and anger into proper training. His adoptive parent is too neutral so he needs someone to take him under their wing and give him a goal.
