Mitzi took another stab at her own dummy, doing a bit more damage this time. But her knife lost a noticeable piece, dulling the edge. She clearly didn't know how to use small blades well. Which wasn't entirely surprising, given that all her practice at a scareling had been with scythes, and once she had manifested her own weapon she had focused on using that. Still, it was a bit frustrating, that she was doing so poorly with her gorgeous knife.

Another light hit, and a little more damage to the knife. Wood appeared to work as well as the stone had. Whisper found it hard to believe, but she couldn't deny the results. She was pretty consistently surprised by what she was learning.

This time Mitzi was more careful not to damage her blade, but in doing so she did almost no damage to the dummy. She was all right with that, though. She was getting a little worried about her knife, which seemed to be taking a lot of wear, and she didn't really want to break it.

Now distinctly nervous at how chipped and damaged her knife was starting to look, Mitzi was being a lot more cautious. The dummy wasn't taking much damage, but then, neither was her knife. From the look of the horsewoman presiding over the students, though, it didn't look like the ghoul was allowed to consider herself finished yet.

This time, with the horsewoman keeping a close eye on her, Mitzi didn't feel like she could take a half-hearted swing at the dummy. So she did her best this time to hit it hard, and actually managed a nice cut... before her knife snapped.
She was distinctly disappointed. As damaged as it had been, she'd still been hoping to keep it. Instead she took the pieces up to the front of the room, and deposited them in the bin for the broken knives, letting go with more than a little wistfulness. Still, it was already broken, and as nice of a knife as she had made she still hadn't given all that great of a showing against the dummies. So she didn't really have any right to ask for special treatment.
