They were weak, and they had much to learn, but they weren't as foolish as she once assumed. In just a few days, they had grown to understand something of great importance to the clan. It was more than she ever could have asked from them.
After all of the students made their decisions, the priestess acknowledged them with a gracious bow, and exited the room without a word. Ylaria, however, had a few parting words.
"I am pleased to have taught you, and hope that you will continue to consider all that you have learned. May all be well in your future endeavors."
With that, she dismissed them for a final time.
Those who kept their jewelry would find the FEAR within the gems fading - completely dulled by the time they left the island. Those who sacrificed their jewelry might feel enlightened, inspired, or just a little more optimistic about their stay.
