today people mostly take classes for money making reasons it seems, but i am considering a noncredit cooking class.

so therefore, wouldst thou ever consider taking a class just because?

and if so what sort would it mayhap be?

I'd take cooking or tech classes for fun. Definitely.

If classes were free, I would take every class. I love learning, but I do not like debt. I would take...Maybe like...sign language first. That sounds fun. Is that a credit class? I don't know anything about college.

Sign language is usually a credit course counts as a humanities credit like any other language course

Then...I would take storytelling.

Usually all you have to do is e-mail the prof and be like, can I just sit in and not take-take the class? and a lot of times they will be nice and say yes.

I'm taking a survey of Asian Art class this coming quarter without paying for it by doing that.

If education were a free thing I would take every class just because I wanted to know what that class was teaching, but instead I am paying 50k a year and taking classes because I have to in order to earn my degree and then make enough money to afford the investment of an education. s**t sucks man.

i heart storytelling!

what i most got out of my class were two things. one was getting to listen to wondrous stories from other students (and steal them of course, that is part of the "folk tradition:.) ; the other was having deadlines for work. i never finish the stories i start, so having to meet a deadline or else flunk was marvelously motivating.

and then i just need to write a story about starting fires with my mind...hmm....
