Ignatius will retire.
How and when, like I said, can be with or without this meta involved. Totally willing to help and/or offer his resignation as a plot device. But I am equally fine just having him resign independent of the meta. Completely up to you.

I do have to question this, how does a leader retire? I mean, they have a wing of demon and angel, the pack leaders trademark if you will, do they just vanish or something more fun involved like ripping them off him and making him scream in pain? twisted
Alright, yes, I am kidding about the last bit, still though, what does happen to the wings?

I have to admit, when I first considered this several years ago, I imagined the wing(s) being physically removed, probably in a painful way. So I pictured Iggy missing one or both wings, and a big scar in place of the other one.
I think I remember someone saying that the wings would remain.

The wings will remain, because the magical power that comes with being an Alpha/Beta is from the guidance of a spirit animal, even if they were never directly involved with your leader. Ergo, they shall remain as proof your anthro had been chosen once by the spirits, even if now they step down.
This is why I hoped to have some kind of challenge system. For even if a character kicked the crap out of an alpha, they might not be chosen by the spirits to allow them to gain their wings and powers.
I imagine if one was to challenge you and win, ripping off the wings would certainly be one way to proove your worth though, but i'd say that as up to the characters involved (and ooc consent)
You can also voluntarily remove your wings or find some other way to symbolise your resignation.

Hello!
Hey... I happen to be in ownership of one of the original Alpha's myself and I... can't say I am particularly happy with this whole thing.
I lost the information of my old account a while back so I never received any message or information about this and frankly... considering I paid for an Alpha and a character with a prominent leadership role within his community I'm really not okay with that character being stripped of his rank.
I spent a while waiting for the shop to inform me how to go about using my character, but things never really picked up and eventually I had to pull away from Gaia for RL reasons and when I returned I had lost my account information due to having a new computer.
I will tell you right now I have no intention of letting my character be stripped of his rank... even if I have to do some serious roleplaying in order to keep that established. Since the Meta seems to have been put on pause I believe there is still time for us to figure something out so I ask that whoever is in charge of doing all this send me a PM so we can discuss this and hash out details.
I'm sorry for this, but like I said... I paid for a character who wasn't just for show but had a prominent role in rp and taking that away is not fair in the slightest given the fact that the Alpha/Beta stuff was never really established.
