D'lin arched a brow slightly at the young women as she scooted ahead of them down the hallway, casting a slight sideways glance at Ceta as though to silently ask if she was always like this..but Ceta wasn't paying attention to him. Rather she seemed intent on mildly chastising her friend and the way she went about it made him think that this probably wasn't an unusual occurrence. For some reason D'lin found that funny..though he managed to keep from laughing out loud..which was both good and bad..because although she had caught him staring at her, it was an amused stare and so could be brushed off as a reaction to the circumstances...whereas laughing outright in her face. Probably not.
Still D'lin turned his gaze away from the quiet enigma of a women and returned it to the hallway they were walking down. "I'm not really privy to the higher ups in the Weyr I'm afraid. Plexith and I are just wingriders."
'Not for long.' Plexith butted in suddenly a conviction in his voice that made D'lin inwardly wince just a little bit. His dragon made no secret about his desire to move up in the rank's but D'lin..well he wasn't quite sure he really wanted to. "Though my dragon seems to think that's only temporary." He added with a weary sigh.

Eliza turned around so that she was walking backwards for a few steps and laughed slightly. "Everybody Gossips Ceta. Thats just how the Weyr works, if they didn't we'd never know anything that was happening." She stated confidently but..because her friend seemed to be more then just a little bit annoyed with her she added "But I'm sorry if it was too forward of me to ask." before turning around again and hoping that was enough to placate Ceta.
She really had no idea just how this bronzerider had happened along when he did but she wasn't going to complain. It could have been so much worse. As it were, things had gone down rather well she thought. They had saved face with the boys and they hadn't gotten in trouble. It was a good day. As long as Ceta wasn't mad at her - if she was there would be a lecture later on. Perhaps she ought to butter up to her a bit more. "We really are thankful though..for your help. Ceta didn't want to follow the guys...it was really all my doing." She told the bronzerider in the hopes that convincing him that Ceta was innocent of all blame would smooth whatever temper Ceta was hiding at the moment and save her a talking to later on.

Eliza's selfless decision to take all of the blame on herself-- though it was her fault-- soothed some of Ceta's annoyance with her friend. Eliza was always going to be Eliza. She meant well, in any case, even if she did manage to get herself into tight squeezes. Cetalese just didn't want to make it a habit of calling on Bronzeriders to help them out. For one thing, it would give them a bad reputation. For another, the next Bronzerider might not be as kind as D'lin.
"Then I wish you the best of luck at pursuing your rank," Cetalese said, returning her eyes to D'lin as Halith bounded down the road toward them. He was not looking at her this time, so she brushed off the earlier meeting of eyes as coincidence. At least he seemed more amused by the circumstances than angry, that made things much easier on both of them. It was pure luck, really, and Ceta was thankful for it. "If you ever need support, I hope you'll feel you can turn to Eliza or I. One good turn deserves another."
Cetalesemine! There you are! Where did those boys go? I will protect you. I am sorry that I let Plexith distract me. Did I tell you that yet?
Yes, dear, you told me. Bronzerider D'lin sent them away. Thank you. You did very well. Cetalese smiled as Halith bounced up to her rider. The dark-haired girl stopped walking and bent to give her Green a thorough scratching on one eye ridge. Halith crooned with pleasure, eyes whirling brightly at having done a good job and being rewarded for it.
