so there's this guy i've been snuggling with for the past two nights
he's pretty awesome, like really smart and pretty talented and i dunno, i just feel like he's really easy to talk to. we connect on similar things. he makes me feel smart :)
BUT he is seriously like the most disgusting creature. he lives like a pig and he smells like s**t!! he's not much of a looker... but i feel like that'd change if he was actually hygienic for a full month...
honestly i never thought i'd be this shallow :( i feel bad but like if he just looked cleaner and had his s**t together i feel like i'd be all over him. but the thought of even kissing him is kind of revolting D: so rude i know im so sorry

one of my boyfriends had bad hygiene (not brushing teeth, greasy hair...) but of course I didn't realize until after we started dating, LOL. neutral
If you guys are hanging out, then it must not be a big deal but I agree with you, I wouldn't want to date someone knowing they're gross. If things ever look like they might get serious, I would just explain that I'm sensitive to bodily smells and the like.

yeah. i dunno where this guy wants to take this, but if it's going to be physical at all, i don't think i can do it. D: he is seriously gross. i don't know if i could tell him.. unless he really wants to know. i can tell he likes me a little bit though. but eh this'll all probably pass.

I sometimes feel like women people in general were dropped on their heads as infants, and the part of their brain that can ascertain whether or not someone is into them gets traumatized to the point of non-function.
I also feel this way about myself, so don't yell at me.

And without reading anything else I knew that not only was he really into you, but he probably thinks that you're really into him as well.
Based solely off of that sentence.
You know what platonic friends of opposite genders don't do?
Snuggle with each other for two nights on end.
Not unless one of them is gay, or they are both drunk, or for some reason they will freeze to death if they don't.
He wants you, and he most likely thinks you want him. If you're interested in being friends with this guy at all in the future I strongly suggest you let him know NOW that you aren't interested in him and STOP having sleepovers in the same bed or whatever. Otherwise you're just going to crush him.

Xahmen or they are both drunk, or for some reason they will freeze to death if they don't. lol this the first time we were snuggling was because we were just really drunk and we both were unable to sleep. we were up all night chatting away on the couch. the second time, we were laying out on a field smoking a spliff and it was really really cold so we snuggled under his jacket together. after we left the field, he invited me back to his place but i said no because i didn't want to like.. open that door. i'm into him and i think he's cool, but he's so very seriously disgusting that it's hard to wrap my head around being with him. i like spending time and being around him and being close with him, but i dunno, i'm just like shut down sexually. it'ssssssssss a personal problem.

I don't think not being attracted to a gross guy counts as being "shut down sexually", by the way.
And I guess the rest of my post still applies.
If you want to be friends with this guy, you have to knock that behavior off because it WILL send him the wrong idea about what you want.

I don't think it's shallow at all. A lot of our attraction actually comes from the scent of our partner.
I wish there was an easy way you could get him to take care of himself (that I can think of) :c

I'm kidding of course, but I do think you should maybe tell him. It might or might not hurt his feelings...it's a risk but I think that honesty is the best way to go about things.
He might not be able to smell.
My hubby doesn't have any sense of smell due to nasal polyps. It's a huge stretch, but it could be a possibility.

i ended up hooking up with him a little bit and it's not aaaaas bad as i thought, though he does still kinda gross me out sometimes. i really like him, though. being around him makes me feel really good.
but there's a very jealous girl i know who saw us kissing and she literally told like as many people as we mutually know, so now everyone knows about us :/ problems dude. we were trying to keep it low, too. jees.
