Some days my cats seem to enjoy me brushing them, and will even wait patiently while I clip their claws. Other days they will hide untill I put away the brush! Maybe I am catching them on a bad hair day? xp
Does anyone have any tips on cat grooming? Also, if anyone knows any names of good cat brushes that would be awsome.

my cats love being brushed. i just use a normal wire bristle brush, not sure of the brand.
as for tips, keeps treats around and always finish with either mealtime or the treats
claw clipping is something i still need to work on with my little lady cat

My cats are the same way! I agree with what Shanna said though, always keep treats around. I also use a regular wire brush. It seems better for me to brush them while they're calm, maybe during or after a good petting session. xD

I have a med hair and I do have to brush her alot because its spring and shes losing her winter undercoat. She has 3 brushes, ones a deshedder that she never liked (its good but the teeth are so close together and thin that I think it was poking her), a comb and a regural squishy brush. I usually have to brush her when shes laying down or half asleep because shes a very active kitty. Id like to get one of these. biggrin

My current cats love being brushed. Sweetie follows me into the bathroom almost every time I go to use it and stands on the sink until I brush her. She also likes to drink from the faucet. Mir used to be similarly fanatic about brushing, and could somehow sense whenever and wherever in the house I was brushing my own hair and would come running for her turn. Toy enjoys brushing, but he's not a fanatic about it like the girls. My two long-hairs Bug and Kit, now deceased, did not care much for brushing.
I use a natural boar-bristle brush from Nexxus.

The Oster deshedder works wonders on removing shed hair and undercoat. Just a few strokes on even my little short hair and the brush is full.

I use a nylon (I think) slicker on my medium-hair - with her coat it seems to work well.
She doesn't love brushing, but she doesn't hate it, either.
