Those would be specialties, and the elements should be pretty basic to prevent confusion, though I do appreciate the thinking on that.

This stuff sounds pretty reasonable but if this becomes too much like D&D I gotta warn you, I joined this sort of thing because it was less nitpicky than D&D. I felt too lazy to calculate all the stats.

Quick example using a lost character. This what people have in mind?
Ioder Hendelfson
Human
This historian carries a lot of explosives and a radar to detect viruses. Also is carrying a number of data disks and a portable reader.

Possessions: 15 grenades, 4 mines, 3 cluster bombs, radar, data library, backpack.
Abilities: toss explosive, scan stuff with radar, will to live, Immunity to reploid viruses, can swim provided water is reasonable temperature. Is skilled at remembering historical things.
Weaknesses: pretty much anything that isn't a reploid virus or robot mind control.

Total lifespan is all of about 4 bars of health not counting will to live.

Canon villains get a +15 to Just Won't Die Already.

Oh my god, thank you. I was hoping that the stats would just be a guideline and stuff. I don't want to be in something super nitpicky. No dice rolling or number generating. Just creative writing with some numbers to give an idea of where you stand.

So i guess were all in agreement that there are trees in which our characters flourish with stats traits and abilities, i know i'm not the only one that thinks the characters should just be a giant rock paper and scissors game...also lions...has your ps3 made a strange vibrating noise that sounds like its going to blow up? >_> i can't figure out why mines being a spazz.

The most you'd have to do is basic math. That's it. No dice. And no it hasn't. Not that I'm aware of. Maybe your ps3 IS just a spaz?

I dunno... I hate to be the odd one out, but I don't think I like this.

For me, Forum RPing has always been about creative writing, in both interaction and battles, and I'm not really okay with the thought of my creativity being roped down by numbers and math. Stuff that's so concrete like that really gets in the way of one's ability to creatively manipulate the situation so that everything is sorta fresh and unexpected. I'm okay with stats to use as a rough guide to gage a characters power, and even going into a fight with an idea of who will probably win, but we can't really treat something based of one's creativity like theoretical probablity, which is based off nothing but numbers and logic. I understand a fairness factor being an issue, but consider which one you would rather. Would you prefer to be stuck in a boring loop of logic, never really feeling like you've been wronged, but also never experiencing the feeling of being able to express an idea in a creative manner. Or would you rather prefer to experience a few unfair moments in exchange for a very creative and unique output in the situation as a whole. Especially since life isn't fair, It doesn't make sense to take a retelling of one's life and twist it so that it's always fair 24/7.

PLUS I HATE MATH.

Gee, you could have just said all that in those three words. "I hate math."

I think that's what everybody was thinking of too, the general guideline thingy. And that we hate math.

Have you checked the air vents for dust in your ps3 EoJ? Otherwise, that's a really bad sign. Hair in the fan or something like it.

i dusted the thing out, didn't help. it's been off for about 10 hours now so ill check it again later. And toad brought up a great point....MATH SUCKS! >:I .
i would like to keep my childrens card games and my megaman roleplay seperate to avoid. I attack with Aster!, enemy chains block, aster chains Stop Defense, enemy chains solemn judgement, aster chains dark bribe and so on and so forth

What do all of those attacks do?

Oh heck, I'm straying into general discussion. I think we know now what the class system is going to look like and what we don't want it to be. What else do we need to discuss?

Well, since the majority seems against it, I'll drop the class system idea. However, I do not want to see any complaining about how someone rps in a fight. That was the whole point of implementing a class system. One hint of complaining, and I'll restart the class system, and intertwine it into the guild's workings.
