2012 appears to be the year that big business tries to pass many laws that almost make it. Laws that would threaten Gaia's existence and legality. I don't want to be deeply involved if one of them passes.

May as well stay involved...The internet isn't the only place that people will be trying to change. There is a huge amount of potential for instability in 2012, not just in the US, but around the world. For now we at least have free speech on the internet, and what better way to fight injustices than by communicating?

And now America has a presidential candidate whom wants to ban hard-core pornography. Wouldn't it be so much easier just to outright say "I quit" and get it over with? rolleyes

I think you guys need to remember that you have to pay more attention to who you vote into congress. the president can only sign or veto a bill but congress actually makes the bills and at times, can makes them into laws.

^ exactly.
In the grand scheme of things, it's actually congress that does more damage than the president, but people only focus on who's going to be president and not so much "lesser" positions like congress and senate. The president often ends up being the fall guy for all the horrible things that congress does.
