Psychoholic Slag Just asking... It's not difficult to get a college education without ever stepping foot in a classroom or paying an inordinate amount of money. Just go down to your local library, look up some college-level books about the subject you want to learn about, and start reading. You won't have any tests, no homework, and best of all, you can do it on your own time! The only reason I'm going to college right now is so I can get the proper documentation so I can begin teaching. Yeah, I have more than three years worth of credits (I was planning on teaching, too), but I dropped out about a year and a half ago due to migraines--which were interfering with my grades. I'm working now, but I plan on taking night courses and/or online courses when I get a handle on my bills. And I read college level books a lot. xD Sociology and psychology, mostly. Some history. I should really start reading some science, but it's never been my favorite subject. I blame my high school for making science seem really boring. I do watch YouTube videos on evolution, though, and it's all very fascinating to me, so I think it's just that because creationism is essentially the dullest topic ever, I just have a deep-held disliking for reading science books now. What subject do you want to teach?

What subject do you want to teach? I want to teach sociology, possibly history as well. But that's where I'm torn, should I do world history or US history? Both subjects are fascinating to me. I could do psychology, but I really don't like Freud (at all!) and unfortunately, that's what high schools want to teach... But, I like sociology as a subject, as well. So I will stick with that, and I will just have to see where it goes from there. As far as bills, I can completely sympathise with you on that. I've got medical bills so bad that it's going to eat up a good majority of my school refund and any taxes I receive from work.

Ew, they still teach Freud? o.O I discovered sociology for the first time in college, and I liked it so much, I decided to minor in it. xD Yeah, medical bills? I gots 'em, too. Combination of my migraine issues and breaking my finger rather badly this past December.

Naw, its cool, just saiyan :3 Well, I don't know. I don't pretend to be a philosopher, or a theologist. I believe in Hell, I believe in Heaven, but I don't have any idea of what they're like in a material sense... From what I've gleaned, Hell is somewhere completely separate from God. And frankly, I quite like chillin' with Him. He's a dude, so I'm happy to be a Christian.
As for the feminism thing...well, you plainly haven't been around me when my hormones act up. wink Yes, guys are thoroughly affected by hormonal fluctuations - considering as how a single shouting session can increase testosterone, this is unsurprising - but for women the thing that messes us up hormonally isn't the fluctuations in their own volumes, its the power-battle that they have; the interaction with one another. I'm also angry at mine for the pain they bring, so I guess I'm a little prejudiced against them ;D
And in reference to feminism, I went to an all girls' school. I had 7 years of "YOU MUST WORK AND BE A FEMINIST, NEVER GET MARRIED, ALWAYS VIE FOR POWER AGAINST MEN, YOU ARE A STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN WHO DON'T NEED NO MAN", so - please forgive me sweatdrop - I've developed a bit of an anti-feminist side. Well, not anti-feminist. More like a cynicism towards feminism. I am down for equality, completely, don't get me wrong, and yes I get somewhat ptooey that some women still in the UK can get paid up to £4000 less than a man for the same job, but I'm content to chill. No offense (: Muchos gracias for the support :3 Stereotypes are totally lame. *le sigh* You know what they say though.

No offense (: I never got the "separate from God" thing, simply because it contradicts the typical claim of God being omnipresent, buuut I'm under the impression that the Bible never officially makes the claim of God having the trait of omnipresence, so who knows? I also never got the "God is male" thing either. If Adam and Eve were together made in the image of God, then doesn't it stand to reason God encompasses both genders? But I'm glad you enjoy and appreciate your religion. 3nodding Problem is I always take claims of PMS with a grain of salt because there have been studies done that show that women often misremember (or subconsciously alter) their experiences during the week or so leading up to their period simply because they believe they should have been PMSing. In one study they told half the women (they were all getting ready to have their periods and in the stage frequently associated with PMS) it was a study on PMS, and they told the other half it was a study on something else entirely. They were required to keep a journal on their emotions and behaviors during the time, and the half that knew it was a study on PMS described feeling it. The half who didn't didn't describe hardly any behavioral/emotional change--and in fact, some of them said they felt better than usual. Which isn't to say PMS doesn't exist at all! Our hormones do affect us--just not to the extent that popculture likes to imply. It's about the same it is for men, but you don't see judges accepting "my hormones were out of control, so I just couldn't think straight and I killed the b*****d" as an acceptable defense for men, and yet it's happened at least once that I know of for women. Some lady ran her ex over with a car, and she was found not-guilty (or maybe it was just a lesser sentence? not sure) because she claimed her PMS affected her ability to reason. And that kind of bullshit pisses me off. The human mind is very impressionable. xD That all girls school... o.O I agree with the last statement (being strong and independent and knowing you don't need a guy isn't the same thing as not having one wink ), but the rest sounds a bit over the top. Still, if you're for equality between the sexes, that by definition makes you a feminist--even if you have an aversion for the term. I don't really worry about the pay gap much. I figure there's already plenty of people campaigning for that, and since I have not been personally affected (as far as I know), it's hard to get my rage up, haha. I tend to concentrate more on the media's portrayal of women.

I figure there's already plenty of people campaigning for that, and since I have not been personally affected (as far as I know), it's hard to get my rage up, haha. I tend to concentrate more on the media's portrayal of women. In truth, neither do I, but I've been told I'm an "anti-cognitist" which means I believe that when it comes to things like God and certain parts of theology, humans physically cannot understand it all. And from my perspective, God is above gender, but He's so often (but not always) described with adjectives more commonly associated with men in the past, that the image has stuck. But for me, God is pure Spirit. Souls don't have genders, the bodies have genders. That's how I see it, in any case (: And yeah, we are all made in the image of God, thus God is circa 51% womanly attributes ;D
Really? That's quite interesting actually, but it doesn't surprise me :L Some women take it to an extreme, and that's just demeaning to the rest of us, because it means its that much harder to be taken seriously when we#'re genuinely aggrieved by someone else's behaviour. Sucks when that happens. But don't you worry, I won't go out stabbing people and defend myself with "Oh no, I am not hearing this, a woman has her time of month when she is not in control of herself". In fairness, I get angry very very very rarely, and when I get angry I cry, so my "PMS anger" isn't particularly destructive. I'd imagine if it was a lesser sentence she'd be charged with manslaughter, because she was in a situation beyond her control, or something like that.
Yep. It left its mark ;D (true, and in fairness I know that when I get a man, he will be at my beck and call, bless his cottons) Good education though. Much higher standards than all the schools in the same area. I'm a feminist? Cool! Although I'm not going to parade that, because I have a tendency to dream out loud, about a little housewifey fantasy I have. Its honestly nauseating, but half of me is all emotion_kirakira about the prospect. The rest of me is throwing up ;D
Bahaha, that's fair. And actually, I agree with you about that. One of the main reasons I focus on God's love rather than Hell is actually because of how the media's portrayal of women affected me in the past, and how God brought me out of it by showing me how beautiful I was emotion_yatta And then put it on my heart to get the message out to other girls who need to know it too. It doesn't matter how gorgeous you are, the world and the media will always tell you that you are ugly and you aren't good enough. Messed up, right?
