(this is alright with you almighty goddess?) in dq8 I beat the game and started the dragovian trials. I found a set of liquid metal armor (hell yeah!) but I got to the outer part (where you see the sky) and by that time yangus is the only guy alive and hero and angelo are dead with no Yggdrasil leaves. What is recommended for equipment before tackling this again. (I plan on buying as many yggdrasil leaves as I can damn argonia one leaf only rule) I have hero with: hero spear, metal king shield yangus: really powerful scythe looks like its made of rock forgot the name Jessica: miracle sword Angelo: mercury's rapier also i need a grotto locator for dq 9. (don't smite me almighty goddess)

Do you have Yangus trained in Axes at all? In general, Axe are more powerful than scythes, I believe, and Axes yield the skills Hatchet Man and Executioner, both of which are good for Metal King Slime hunting.
And wait, Jessica has a miracle sword? But Jessica can't use swords...

I haven't beaten the game myself, but I do believe I have a nice set-up that may or may not help. For me, I had the Hero with lances, as I endorse diversity. I think I had the Hero Lance. For Yangus, I gave him axes, as Roto said, the special abilities axes offer are just too good not to have, as well as the strength. I did something weird, and made him the miscellaneous item user, such as the Sage Stone and whatnot, as Jessica was busy spamming the Timbrel of Tension, Angelo healing, and Hero buffing himself up for brutal assaults. Jessica, I gave her whips for enemy swarm control mainly, but don't spend too much time and resources upgrading her weapons, as realistically, for scary bosses, for me at least, she was usually buffing the guys up, or casting offensive spells. Lastly, Angelo, the meat and potatoes of everything for me. He had the Shamshir of Light for lol offence, if he was free to attack (as in the allies were healthy), backed people up with spells, and was my healer naturally. I'm not sure if it's suggested to rely on Angelo as much as I do, but at Endgame, without a Game Over for me yet, it seems to be working quite well. Regarding IX: Dragon's Den has pretty much ANY DQ resource that you'll ever need. Just scroll down the menu on the right, you'll find it.

I think I've mentioned this before, but have you ever been to Howlwind hill, A.K.A. Slime hill? It's a separate area near Arcadia that you can get to by flying. You are more likely to find metal, liquid metal, and metal king slimes there than most other places. It' good for at least a little training.

Only king cureslimes and dark Slimes Don't worry, they are there. Also normal metal slimes. There are also liquid metal slimes there. To get the timbrel of tension (Wow, good show beating the game without one) you need a skull helm. You can get one out of a chest near the light-world version of the Godbird's Nest dungeon. Then you put it in the alchemy pot to get a Sun Crown. Now put that in the pot with a Magic Beast Hide and a Tough Guy Tattoo, and you got yourself a timbrel of tension: game breaker extraordinaire. The Shamshir of Light is Shimmering Dress + Rune Staff + Light Shield. To get a Shimmering Dress, you need a Spangled Dress + Ruby of Protection + Gold Bracer. Hope this helps!

How unfortunate for me. One of my ps2s doesn't read the disc for 8 and the other doesn't work with my tv apparently. Even though I played for 3 hours when I made this forum.
EDit: oroblem solved turns out it works better with the converter plugged in gonk

Also I beat the labyrinth now and am dead in the Dias.
