Shanna66 Socika Shanna66 Socika Yeah but all carnivore/omnivore mammals (that aren't rodents duhh) have the enlarged canines while ours are pretty much same size as all the other teeth, not yet at a horses level but it appears as if they're going in that direction. horse teeth are for eating small low to the ground plants like grasses, our teeth are for eating nearly anything, thats why we have so many different types Oh please we can't even outchew a squirel i thought you didnt want to talk about rodent teeth wink You said so many different types I meerely pointed out that our chooing ability is limited + your avi kinda reminds me of squirels I'd like to see you chew raw meat all the omnivores and carnivores can.

I prefer my meat cooked, but I have ate raw meat before. razz personally, aside form all the bacteria and such, I found it was bloody and messy. In our civilization it is looked down on if someone is messy and bloody.

Socika We also use teeth to look pretty but those are other uses, the primary use for the teeth is to chew, and ours are the only ones without the massive canines, that screams herbabore to me. Computer has other uses than looking pretty christmas tree doesn't. And my hair has other uses too, like scaring people away xD To you it scream herbivore, to me it screams.... omnivore. That meat isn't as important to us as them, but we still need it. As it contains protein. Protein made up of amino acids, they are an important substance, key to rebuilding and repairing, and growing. Animals that don't have those teeth, have to find amino acids in other ways. But, they still end up in a land fill after your done with them. It doesn't really mater, if it was a few weeks or 90 years down the line. They still go there.

Socika deadmanjay 83.55% of the people who use statistics in arguments are just making them up. You still are avoiding his argument of animals being killed to create farm land, to farm the ******** farms, and to protect the ******** vegetables on the hippy farms. What about all the bugs that are killed to protect the ******** plants. Are you pro-bug killing? Are you in the 83.55%? Farm land lets see if we didn't have to much future meat to feed we wouldn't need anymore farm land sence we'd alredy be creating 10 pounds of food per pound of meat made now, not to mention the space where all the animals meant for food are kept. So that takes the count down as well. I don't buy food sprayed with poison. I try not to kill bugs but I do feed my spider (who actually has no choice in his diet, we do) And my cat has vegeterian food and he loves it more than regular cat food! You actually going to pull out some proof for any of your claims or keep with the fallacies? I'll wait til you really decide. Edit: I just realized what the topic is supposed to be about so....

Now tell me, what do you think all those brown paddocks are? Dry grass? Nope, Crops of all kinds. Maize, Corn, Wheat, Barley, Hops, and I could go on and on... See, ALL of that would be brown, if everyone was a vegetarian... Every farm that used to farm livestock, would just switch over to Wheat, Barley, Hops, etc... And just used up that same farmland, and then demand will get higher, and then more trees will be cut down. It doesn't matter if it's Livestock, or Crops... or Orchids or Berry farms... They all take up land, and they all destroy trees and nature. I think being a vegetarian is worse then being an Omnivore... you are consuming a mixture of stuff, keeping a moderate diet and it should be healthy. Just do not Goat regularly... it gives you seizures.

Alright this topic has derailed enough. Everyone back on the original topic. Leave the posts that don't have to do with holidays alone. I thought my last pony pics got the message across but I guess it didn't let me post another pic to get the idea across. Now if you want to discuss any of this off topic stuff, start a new topic, otherwise get out the thread.

May I be the first? I just had one question before everything went sideways. What did you guys do with your tree? I know some of you said, your tree was fake. So, the answer was probably, tore it down and put it up for next year. That is what we did with ours.
In years past we had two trees. One real, one fake. The fake one was normally placed outside, and staked to the ground, as a habitation thingy so my mom could hang wild life feeders and such on them. The real one, we normally took to the lake so the fish could have a hiding spot. And a snagging location for lures. razz

Since I've been living on my own, I've been using a fake one. It's a pretty white and comes with pre-lit lights. Growing up I had a real tree cause my dad thought it looked nicer. I used to think that too but this little fake tree I have has kinda grown on me now. Don't have to worry as much clean up or the disposal stuff. Just pack it away and have it for next year.

We store our fake plastic thing that we have had for like 20 years (live at home... lol) away in a cupboard... but because my birthday is in November, we usually put it up first week of December and taken in down in like... first week of January. So it's only up for maybe five weeks.

we just got our tree this year. right now its back in its box in my reptile room until we get a proper floor in the storage shed. right now it leaks in there and everything gets wet and nasty
my husband and i are allergic to pine so we couldnt have a real one even if we wanted to. ive never had a real tree since my mother thought it was pointless to kill something just so you can have a holiday decoration, im a bit of the same mindset

When I was growing up, we always went tree hunting the weekend after Thanksgiving... It was a family /friend affair, and it was so much fun... We and the family that ours did EVERYTHING with would drive out to various tree farms until we found "THE PERFECT" tree...
Then for every tree we took, there was one planted, so it wasn't like we were raping the environment, and this was before the big hype about things like that.
Anyways... My family's home has an 18 foot ceiling, so we usually ended up with a tree that was about to get cut down anyway. We always got excited when the tree farmer told us that we got a tree that wouldn't have been there next year if someone didn't get it this year...
Then we would keep the tree until the second week of January and take it to the river for fish to spawn in. I would go back and check it out until periodically, until we would have enough rain to send it on down the river... It was cool to see all the little minnows and guppies darting around through the branches... It was like the tree traded needles for scales in the early spring. LOL
We still do the real tree thing for the parents house... but my house has a fake fiber optic tree that I got in 2004 and I will probably use that for another 7 or 8 years in not longer. It is really pretty...
