She padded through the grasses, and for the few seconds that he took to decide, she felt the same lonely ache rush through her system. It was when he called out that she all but jumped up, and turned her head towards the voice, a sign leaving her lips. She awaited for him to catch up and walked again, picking up the pace lightly for a slow padding, and smiling as he kept to her side.

"Curious?" She echoed after he finished speaking, "About what?" She looked to him as they went through the tall grasses, a sign of the water that was quite close. She never kept away from the water because of location. Disliking the heat even with her lightly colored pelt, she made sure to know just where to go when she needed something, and to be able to get there without a major effort.

"Would it be the water, or the pack?" She knew it might have been offensive, her voice speaking out softly as if she were speaking to a pup, but that is how she always was. It was something she did without thinking, and when she heard the tone, a cringe crossed her eyes for a spit second. It wouldn't be too good of an impression on Raka if she all but babied him.

Really, Raka didn't mind the mothering tone. He felt like such a pup anyways, what with the way he'd been so outcasted and away from others of his kind. He hadn't really grown up, to say the least, even though his body was quickly growing larger.

His large ears perked forward as he walked beside her and listened to her words. Her voice was so calm and serene that he couldn't help forgetting about everything for a few moments...

"Curious aboot teh pack. Why'd yew tell meh tha'?" he asked, voicing the same thoughts that had been running through his mind a mile a minute since she first mentioned it. He wasn't much of a pack person, now that he really thought about it. But perhaps a friend or two to keep him company would be nice...

"I dun be lookin' fer a pack."

Miremba faltered in one of her steps, a clear sign she had been caught by surprise from his last comment. Letting her tail shift lightly in the grasses, she turned her eyes back to him and swallowed.

"But you just said..." She whispered softly in response, before shaking her head and moving back to walk. They soon emerged from the grasses to a small watering hole, the silence from her last words following them as she stood back a moment.

"Go ahead..." She added after they stood a moment, and settled back on her haunces to look to the sun, trying to figure out how much time she had until sun set and when she would need to run back to her den. Though she loved the span of the lands, she dislikes the night, and never wished to be out past sun set.

Raka shook his head as well, trying to clear up some of the confusion that had been created with their miscommunication. Had he really said that he was looking for a pack? He didn't remember... he had said it was probably a good idea for some wild dogs to form a new pack, but he hadn't said he wanted to join one himself.

Shrugging it off mentally, he just continued on with the female. The silence was eerie, but he dared not break it. When they finally reached the watering hole, he opened his mouth to speak yet nothing came out but a small squeak.

Lowering his ears slightly, the male sat down after Miremba did. But his auds were forced forward when she said that he should drink first. "Naw, 's alright. La'ies first," he said softly, sinking down to his belly and resting his head on his large paws comfortably.

Raka tried to give off the impression that he was no threat... because really he wasnt.

Glancing out of the corner of her eye, she took note that he seemed to mimic her movements, and than went on to fully lie down. Confused once more, she felt her ears fall as he showed a poliet nature for one that had grown up so alone. It boggled her mind to no end, the idea that his nature was so calm, and she was only left to peice the puzzle together and set no arguements as she padded lightly towards the water.

Her tongue coming out to lightly lap at the liquid, she felt it sooth her parched throat, and soon she was pulling up with her lips moist but nothing else. Stepping back, she turned and nodded for Raka to take his turn, not speaking a word while doing so. For some reason, no words seemed to come to mind with the akward interaction the two were going through.

Raka smiled slightly as she moved forward and took a drink. But he didn't watch her the whole time, no. He felt that if his eyes were always on her he would seem like some stalker-ish creature. And he was definitely not that. So his gaze drifted all around his surroundings, taking in everything while his nose captured all of the scents.

When she seemed done and gave him the single that he could go now, he lifted his head from his paws and blinked at her for a moment. Then he crawled forward slightly on his belly until he could crane his neck and lap up the cool water. Like the wild dog before him, the water soothed his dry and raspy throught. The cool waters felt good.

When he was finished, he lifted his head once more to peer at her. He was curious and wanted an explanation, but wouldn't press her if she didn't feel like talking at the moment.

She felt her ears drop at the sight of him crawling, and quickly altered her gaze away to the grasses. The long, slender strands seemed to distract her enough that she did not catch his finish, nor his peering. It just seemed serene to watch the grasses move by the freedom of the wind, and slowly, a brighter smile crossed her maw. Forgetting all about her company, she let herself get lost in the memories of what once was, the reality slipping from her mind.

The sun was shining down in her day dream just like it was for them, but this time the soft calling of another dog filled the air. She had been running through the grasses, and just turned her head to respond with her own cheery calling, eyes twinkling as all shadows seemed to be missing. His form than appeared from the distance, another Wild Dog with a darker pelt, one as brown as the earth with ebony markings. Yet, as soon as he made way to join her, the winds pushing past their furs, she felt the dream fade, and blinked back to reality.

She had been starring off for quite a long time, and she knew it.

Raka, though he had been quite anxious and curious to learn of what the other had to tell him, didn't even bother to shake the female from her dreaming. Instead, he focused his attention elsewhere.

Soft eyes traveled all around his surroundings, taking in every detail and the whereabouts of every creature that lurked nearby as well as the location of this particular water spot lest he go dehydrated next time he happened to be in this general vacinity.

A smooth tongue ran over the young male's lips as his ears perked forward and took in all of the sounds of the day. It really was quite peaceful, this place. It was no wonder she had decided to settle in around here. Yet he didn't know whether she actually lived here or not, so he was merely assuming.

A soft sigh escaped his tan lips as he rested his head on his large paws once more. Life was good...

The sigh broke the silence and caused her soft eyes to settle back onto his form. It seemed weird, to have company once more, and again she found a failure to bring up any words as the silence pushed down on her form like a solid mass. Ears falling lightly at the feeling, she too settled head on her paws, in efforts however to control the weight. It even was hard to lift her tail.

Yet all of this was mentally in her head, and indeed as soon as she spoke, the weight was gone.

"Raka," She spoke out slowly, "Do you have any plans for the future here in the lands?" Not know why she asked that question, she wondered if it was merely to start a talk, or was it something deeper. In her mind, she choose the former, but deep in her heart, there were other intentions. This was her first shot at making a friend, and her heart wanted to make sure that she didn't lose this opertunity that might be the last.

Raka had begun to doze off slightly. The heat of the day was starting to get to him and relax all of his muscles. Eyelids became droopy as he took in a deep breath then completely relaxed. Her voice, however, broke that state and caused him to bring up his head sharply, sending a shearing pain through his neck at moving it too fast.

"Plans?" he echoed, his voice terribly rough compared to her lovely one. Then he thought for a moment. Did he really have any plans? Hm... not at this particular point in time. He had no family, no real friends, and so he just wandered.

Shaking his head, he voiced these thoughts going through his mind. "No, no plans fer me. I jus' go where ev' I please. I 'ave no plans fer settlin' down 'r 'nything." Raka had no idea what his plans had to do with whatever it was she was going to tell him, but he went along with it just the same, to be polite mostly.

She felt her heart skip as he snapped his head up, and she turned her gaze away as humilation and regret filled her eyes. Ears falling lightly, Miremba settled her maw on her paws once more as she continued to avoid his gaze, feeling bad for awakening his mind when he was so serene. All she could do was listen to his responce with her lowered ears, taking it in slowly as he spoke and just watching the dirt and waters in front of her.

"You sound like me," She said soon after his answer, her tone light hearted, "There is nothing for me to move towards, so I only search these lands for life...for others. The wind is my only companion in my travels as I move through the grasses." She took a moment before letting out a light whisp of a laugh, and turned back to Raka.

"You are as refreshing as the wind," Of course she was referring to him as company, so she said it in such a soft tone that it hardly move from where the two sat. Letting it settle, she dropped her eyes again, looking away from his form with guilt pushing down upon her shoulders.

Raka blinked at the female, wondering why she suddenly looked away in embarassment. Had he done something wrong that had set off a wrong reaction in the female? Surely it hadn't been anything he had said, for he hadn't spoken a word in quite a bit of time. Confused, he merely watched her, bright eyes ever alert.

A slight frown overcame his rough features. It seemed that there were too many rogues out there nowadays. Most of the animals on the plains were pack or pride animals, and yet they wandered alone, forever doomed to suffer whatever pains Nature threw at them. How sad.

"Company is good," he mused, pondering over her words. She seemed to feel the same way that he did, but was it just the yearning for some socialization that brought the two together, or was it something more, something mysterious and something that almost nobody quite understood?

"But is it healthy?" What Raka was talking about, not even he quite knew.
