“Yes I’m afraid I do. I do love flying though so it’s not quite as bad as it seems. You see my chosen lives in a small little village and runs a shop. From time to time I carry letters and small packages for her.” Alu-lote stopped to take a long drink of water before heading out of the shallows. Her fetlocks were soaked but she was feeling good. Her mane was wet where it had dragged along the surface of the water when she bend to drink. She wondered if perhaps she shouldn’t at least pretend to be worried that her white legs would end up muddied. In truth it never bothered her and she never minded getting dirty.

Dante stepped out of the water and methodically kicked the moisture off each leg one by one. He hid a snort as he watched her blithely ignore the dirt. She was lucky she was only stepping through sand there, so there wouldn't be mud everywhere. But he blinked upon hearing Alu-lote's comments. A village? A Chosen? Packages? He didn't know what any of that was. Apparently there was a lot about the world that he didn't know. "Ah.. chosen?" he ventured carefully, hoping he didn't come off as slow. "What is that?"

Alu-lote’s head turned fast enough that a small pop could be heard. “You don’t know?” She blinked and searched his face for a moment before deciding that he really didn’t know. “A chosen is a human that one agrees to bond to. This bond is …. Incredible.” Alu-lote’s voice was breathless as she mentioned the last word. “An Azrein and their chosen help one another. My chosen runs a shop I help her by traveling to deliver messages where it would take her weeks.. she ah doesn’t like heights. So she won’t go flying with me to deliver things. ” Alu-lote blushed and looked down pawing at the ground with a hoof.

Dante raised an eyebrow. This chosen thing sounded rather intense. It also sounded like dependance. Maybe it was just because he was so used to being on his own, but he was a bit wary on depending so completely upon someone else. At the same time, perhaps it would be nice to have someone else who would always be there. He closed his eyes, silent for a moment, thinking. Then he looked back at Alu-lote. "Why would this Chosen of yours dislike flying so? There's nothing better then flying."

Alu-lote giggled thinking of her odd chosen. “Well she’s a human. They don’t have wings as we do. While she was quite young she had a horrible experience falling out of a tree. While she can still climb on things she tends to become scared and end up stuck where ever she is until someone can convince her that it is alright to climb down and they will catch her if she falls. I’m afraid she would be quite helpless without me.” Alu-lote thought about it more. “Though I must admit the fact she takes such good care of me to make certain I always have food and a place to sleep out of the rain is rather nice trade off to my own benefit.” The mare’s ears flicked as she thought about how much her chosen did for her. “I suppose we take care of each other to the point we are both quite spoiled.”

((I'm so, so sorry about how long this took. T.T A few IRL issues, like my computer trying to die on me. Also, how far do you want to go with this? I'm a little unsure what to do next.)) Dante snorted. He couldn't help it. The thought of a creature that didn't like flying because of a tree - why, it was ludicrous! The trees in the area didn't look very large at all, it couldn't possibly have been a large drop. Seemed as though Alu-lote would have to be brave enough for both her and her Chosen, which didn't sound like much of a trade-off; it wasn't hard to find a cave to stay out of the weather. Or to eat the lovely grass that was as far as the eye could see. But obviously she saw nothing wrong with the arrangement, because she sounded quite content and even happy with it. "I think I may be too independent for something like that," he said instead.

(Tis fine. RL is kickin my butt too. We can stop her or carry this on latter if you would like. They are enough posts we could enter them for a fling breeding if you want. And there is a set up for any further RP you want to do. Friendship or whatnot. ) Alu-lote sighed. “I see you don’t understand humans well. They often do strange things like that. Watching them is a near endless source of amusement and joy. That and sugar cubes and other treats she gives make my human well worth all her little quirks.” Alu-lote stretched her wings. If you would like perhaps one day you could stop by my chosen’s home and I could introduce her to you. I’m certain she would find you as dashing as I do.” A slight blush tinted Alu-lote’s cheeks at her bold exclamation. This would give Dante time to explore and learn more of human’s with other experiences before introducing him to her own slightly spazzy bonded. Perhaps he would not wish to meet Reo, but at least Alu-lote was giving him an option to do so if he became curios in the future. “Perhaps if you stumble across our village one day I’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.” She smiled at him.

((A breeding fling could be cool. ^^ And even if nothing else came of it, they could stay friends.)) Dante's eyes widened a bit. Dashing? Him? "Well," he said, willing his voice not to stammer or stumble, "I've never met humans before. And I've never really been around other Azrein, either. It would be.. nice." He smiled back. She was the first adult Azrein who'd ever looked at him in such a way, it made him warm inside in a way he wasn't used to.

(The kiss on the cheek was a friendly one, not overly romantic. She thinks he's cute and a bit naive. As such in need of encouragement and praise. Yep a fling is fine with me. I'll toss them in the breeding agreement so that you can enter them in the current breeding up if you want. *nods* Yeah they would be good friends which is really nice.) Dante’s voice seemed a bit muffled but he must be thinking things over. It was a rather enduring quality she thought. He had such a lovely smile too. She really hoped that he might one day she could introduce him to her bonded and show him that bonding with a human didn’t mean giving up one’s independence. Rather it meant gaining a love that was unyielding and always accepting. “Alright then.” Alu-lote took a few steps back and gave Dante a graceful bow. “Well, I look forward to being your guide in the little village I live in then. Still I suppose I should continue my flight back home. As wonderful as meeting you has been I do have other tasks to attend to at home. I hope you’ll excuse my rudeness.” With her good bye said she stood up moved forward and gave Dante a gentle kiss on the side of his face before backing up once more and spinning around so she could leave. Dante was sweet Azrein. Even though he didn’t know many other Azrein he had been open and honest with her. It was a wonderful thing to Alu-lote. She looked back at him with a smile. “I hope to see you again.” She started trotting forward away from Dante so she could take off without kicking up dust in Dante’s face.

((This will be last post then. smile I've entered them into Sesshy's breeding. Let me know when you wanna do this again, haha, I'll try to be more prompt!)) Dante nodded. With his eyes never leaving her, he bowed his head down in return, not trusting himself to speak. The spot she'd kissed him felt like it had been scalded by hot water. He definitely looked foreword to the next time they met, to see what came of it. As Alu-lote backed away and she began her pre-flight flaps, he carefully marked the direction she was headed, then started his own slow walk around the edges of the lake. He didn't want to follow, at least not immediately. He had a lot to think about before he chased her down. But oh, what a glorious chase that would be.
