The mare didn’t want him interested. She wanted him to disappear. To be gone from her peaceful life he rudely interrupted. Rather than shoot back words and insults she ignored him. Yes that’s what she will do. Lumi could ignore the male, let him talk to her with no response and pretend he doesn’t exist, since he was a parasite and wait until he finally lost interest. Yes that seemed like the best and only plan that could possibly be used. With that in mind the female increased her speed to leave him, still knowing he would tirelessly follow her like some annoying bug.

Kev smirked at Luminita. She didn’t respond. Either she didn’t care anymore or she was ignoring him. It had to be the latter than the former only because he once had a young sister who used to the do same to him and their older brother when they made her mad. Heaven rest their souls. Picking up his pace he followed the feisty yet frigid mare, speaking about endless nonsense about the weather, the trees, the rocks, the flowers, the bugs, the clouds, the sun, the dirt, the water and lastly for the author to list, before she runs mad with things to list, Kev spoke about her. He annoyed her constantly with his prattling, which would be noticed with her twitch every now and then.
It gave him some sort of pleasure to be annoying this cold Luminita with his presence and his talking. It was great fun to some extent. Kev finally quiet down when Luminita stopped to drink water at a pond. Looking at it he felt a great thirsty overcome him at the sight and drank to his heart’s content. He even made loud noises while in the process earning and quick slap from her long, soft tail. Pretending to have been harmed severely, he dropped to his side. Dead.

The mare found that being silent helped…A little. When they had reached the pond it was a great relief to drink some water after the somewhat long journey, especially with a chatterbox like Kev. Enjoying the silence of drinking it was interrupted by the rude noises from Kev while he drank the water. Twitching for the thousandth time over his annoyance she slapped him with her long tail. It wasn’t that hard of a slap it was just like a swat to stop him with is bad manners.
It was, however, highly unexpected for the male to react like a child and drop to his side as if she had injured him greatly. Blinking when he didn’t come up she stopped to look at Kev. Lumi leaned down to check if he was okay only to earn a lick to her face and a cheeky look with his blue eyes watching her with amusement. Pulling back she huffed and stomped away, running fast, even though she was…laughing….inwardly at the antic. No….Kev wasn’t supposed to be funny. At all.

Perhaps if this was another story with another male, it would have been insulting to be left behind. Yet Kev found it amusing and cute that Lumi thought him truly hurt and was startled by the lick. What could be said? Kev was like a large foal sometimes with his playfulness. Getting up he took one last sip of water before galloping after Lumi. All of this was just the very beginning of him getting her to come around and like him.
It was going to be a challenge but it was going to be worth it in the end. At least Kev thought so while slowly catching up to the fast female, calling out to her loudly. “Wait for me Lumi! Wait!” He earned another snap from the female who found him shortening her name was an offense. ”It’s Luminita you idiot! Say it right or don’t say it at all! Oh yeah, Kev was such a masochist in wanting to bring down her barriers with her snappish ways.

What would seem like an unlikely pairing has come to some sort of blooming friendship. After their first day of meeting Kev followed Luminita like a magnet or a moth to fire. The young mare couldn’t shake him off her tail and the male refused to be easily shaken off. Yet over the course of a few days, ever so slowly, like pulling teeth that was hard to do, Kev managed to get Lumi to speak to him. Of course with his persistence wouldn’t you talk to him just to get it to stop at least for one breathing moment? By no means is Kev an annoying brute, no, no, no! Kev wanted to chip a bit of her barrier to get some sort of communication going. Even if it meant talking about her and her some more.
Lumi on the other hand was slowly giving in to Kev. At least speaking wise. There were moments where Kev showed he was truly charming until he directed his charm towards her and something else that couldn’t be described. Was she starting to like him? No. Well…Maybe a tiny bit. Like itty, bitty tiny bit. Yet all her reactions were held behind a perfect façade of indifference. Luminita tried to not show any liking to the male because she didn’t want to encourage him to stay around. Lumi wanted to discourage him and hope that at some point he would leave. It would not be so sadly.
A few more days passed when it became…normal to listen to Kev speak. There were moments when Luminita would participate into the conversation though would otherwise stay quiet with a sincere look of listening and attentiveness. There were moments where once they stopped at a small location they would…Stand close yet not too close to keep warm in the cool night. Deep down, Kev liked being close to Lumi even if it was only for a moment. Something about this female that called out to him yet….There couldn’t be. Even Lumi was softening up a bit more, starting to enjoy Kev’s presence and listening to his rich chocolaty voice.
However there came a point where they found themselves traveling a bit far in the span of two weeks at the most, with one as the least. It was raining heavily and they needed shelter to keep them warm from the night, the cold and the soaking wet rain above them. With the stage set for these two, where will they end up with their blossoming relationship

The pair ran hard and fast through the cold rainstorm until they found a stable shelter within an empty cave. It was very dark and only lit up by the bright lightening over head. Kev entered first, motioning for Luminita to wait at the opening in case there was danger, to check the premises. The male horse walked every few steps into the cave when it was lit. Taking in the scents the Azrein determined that it was safe then moved back to check on Lumi. The poor dear was shivering from the cold and Kev walked over to her, motioning for Luminita to lay next to him to generate body heat until the rain stopped, or until the next day came which was most likely to happen.

Kev nuzzled Lumi gently, almost affectionately that was purely sincere than just putting on his smooth moves. Surprisingly enough the gold haired female leaned against the strong male. Having to smile a bit Kev relaxed feeling the warm of this beauty. Perhaps it was odd that he found himself enjoying this mare but it was hard not to. Although she was tough as nails the lady was slowly showing that there was something more to her than not. ”You surprise me Lumi.” The female looked up at him with beautiful purples eyes that had their own special glow.

Luminita shuddered from the cold while watching Kev valiantly search for any form of danger. When there was none he came back to her and they ended up cuddling close to keep each other warm from the cold rain. Sighing softly she found herself surprised that the large male nuzzled her affectionately and found it even more surprising that she accepted it. Maybe she was softening up to him. Yeah that was it. Letting him nuzzle her and letting herself be comfortable she was startled by his comment. Looking up she raised a brow, her gaze soft and open with emotion. ”How so?”

The male shrugged slightly and watched her. ”Your strong. Your beautiful. Your intelligent. Your….Brilliant.” There weren’t enough words to describe what he thought, maybe felt, about Luminita in the short time they’ve been together. It was funny how with all the other females this one stuck with him the most. Startled he just watched the female and brought her closer to him. It wasn’t supposed to be like that. He wasn’t supposed to feel anything more than lust or affection for another. No…Kev wasn’t ready for those big feelings yet here they were, developing. ”Luminita…Tell me the one thing you wish for the most in this life.” It was a random question but he honestly wanted to know what it was she wanted.

Blinking in surprise the female chuckled and shook her head, denying the compliments he was saying. Yet they touched a part of her that sparked at the sound of them and wanted them. She was even more surprised at the next statement Kev said. Silently she considered that. Ah but it was too easy on what she wanted. ”I want a family of my own. I want a mate and little ones to call our own…..I also want…” Love? Lumi couldn’t tell Kev that. ”Those are the only things I wish for…”

Love Luminita didn’t say it but it was there nonetheless. Kev smiled a bit and cuddled more with the female. ”That sounds lovely.” A family. He wanted a family too but it was hard to let go of the past and to really settled down easily with anyone when there was always something unfulfilled. At least in Kev’s life there was something he needed to do. Closing his eyes he envisioned what life would be like with Lumi. He could see foals and her, laughing and happy. Funny how it was easy to envision that life with this female than any other’s he had encountered. Opening his eyes he watched how Lumi was looking at him. There was something there that sparked and he wanted to fan it to full potential.

With that night being a cold one it turned into a smoldering heat wave between both mare and stallion. There was something building there between them that couldn’t have come from two others who were so opposite of the poles that it somehow worked. Yet there was only one problem…Kev couldn’t stay with Lumi for much longer no matter how much he liked her. He needed to continue his path and where it would lead before every settling down and although it might hurt Lumi perhaps there was something he could leave her with rather than just a beautiful memory of one night in giving in and many days full of true companionship.
