User ImageName: Calleigh Victoria Wilson (nicknamed Cal, Pepper, or Red)
Codename: Scorpio
Age: 21 (November 11, 1990)
Power: Shapeshifting (emperor scorpion), control of the exoskeletal plates on her body, produces a compound in scorpion sting that temporarily suppresses the mutation gene
Bio: Cal was born into a "normal" American family of two married parents and a little brother following 4 years later. When she was 9 years old, spots started appearing on the back of her neck and spread into black exoskeletal plates. By the time she was 14, the plates ran from the back of her neck to the small of her back. She also began to notice her eyes turning black and shining like bug eyes. One night, she fully turned into an emperor scorpion and - in terror - skittered under her bed.
She was found there three days later by Natalie Graves, the 15-year-old leader of the Zodiac. After somehow shifting back into a human form, Cal was spirited away to Ireland, where she trained with the Zodiac for five years. Her life there was tragically cut short when the estate on which they lived burned to the ground, resulting in the death of their hacker and computer genius Nadia. The Zodiac disbanded, and Cal returned to the United States.
Through a series of - to her - bizarre events, Cal found herself at 20 the head of the Brotherhood. Just after turning 21, she entered into a relationship with 27-year-old Gambit, and this is where her story picks up.

[Not X-men, but Big O. It's all I can offer as proof for now]

Under the cover of darkness, Zayne keyed off the security alarm and quietly retracted the deadbolt. Her every breath seemed to echo throughout the house, and more than once, she froze, imagining a step on the stair that would correspond to her father or her mother. Though Roger and Yin were generally heavy sleepers once they dozed off, the nineteen-year-old girl often ventured out without their consent. This was one of those sojourns. Zayne slipped quietly out the front door and closed and locked it behind her.

Slipping her key into the pocket of her tattered jeans, Zayne pulled her thin jacket off her shoulders and tucked it securely between the outer and inner doors. That done, she removed the ponytail from her thick blank hair and set off at a run away from the brightly-lit dome to the east. Her heeled boots clacked loudly on the pavement and echoed between the buildings that began to decay as she ran. Like watching a movie in fast-forward, by the time she was well and truly out of her neighborhood, most buildings showed the presence of the megadeus Big O. Of course she knew how it happened, and it saddened her a bit to see that so little mattered to Paradigm Corp out here.

She burst into a shaft of silver moonlight and slowed to a walk, barely panting. Like her mother, she was lithe, and very little wore her out. Of course, she had a two-year-old goddaughter, and Adelina was one of the few things that could actually drop her on her well-toned butt. Zayne smiled to herself, thinking of Erin Carter's little girl. Erin had been her best friend since they entered junior high, and they had made for high school gossip when Zayne was the only one to stick by Erin when she got pregnant. Erin was also the one who had gotten Zayne addicted to outer dome concerts.

That was where she was headed, dressed in tattered jeans, brown boots, brown belt, and silver corset. Her father would have had a stroke to see her dressed so provocatively. Oh well, didn't all teens live for the thrill of upsetting their parents? Though her relationship with Roger and Yin was perfectly healthy, Zayne was susceptible to the pressure to shock them as all girls were. She paused in a shaft of moonlight to look around and recapture her bearings. It wasn't the currently-used warehouse district, but the gargantuan frames bespoke of warehouses and storage units. She was looking for E725. Allowing her eyes to adjust to the light, she read the nearest building. A249. She had a ways yet to go.
