The clouds loom over, dark as they’ve been so long.
Long distant is any memory of a time when light could break through.
Some times you can just watch those clouds and accept their shadows.
Other times you know it must rain.
The rain always starts slow at first, as the clouds collect their moistures.
But without much doubt the first drop always falls soon after.
The first droplet hit’s the ground without a splash as he’s absorbed into the dry ground.
Time passes before the next drop, you can still see the moisture build before it falls again.
The next droplet falls close to his brother still dry, still relatively alone.
The storm slowly picks up forcing more drops to fall in a slow but steady form.
You can see the drops on the ground slowly forming patterns as droplets start to land in familiar spots.
You look at the cloud and ask it to open more as you start to feel the known comfort.
The droplets start to hit a steady stream and you notice there is finally enough wetness on the ground for minor splashes.
The rain starts to embrace you, allowing you to turn face away from those clouds and ignore how they initially formed.
The rain hardens now the clouds have opened as far as you will allow.
The droplets disappear into a now steady stream of water as you feel your body being washed over.
The rain isn’t pure but its still cleaner that the water you’ve been drinking every day.
Time soon comes as the rain reaches a level when you start to relax into a feeling of surrender.
You lay down and relax into the puddle now undistinguished from those first few drops.
You close your eyes and fall asleep into natures hand.
The rains starts to succumb as your conscious is not left to fight it.
The floods are yet to come.

Crimson rain
Attempt 2
Dont like the tempo...but.
The clouds loom over, dark as they’ve been so long.
Long distant is any memory of a time when light could break through.
Sometimes you just watch those clouds, accepting their shadows.
Other times you know it must rain.
The rain always starts slow at first, as the clouds collect their moistures.
But without doubt the first drop falls soon after.
That first droplet hit’s the ground without a splash as he’s absorbed into the dry ground.
Time passes before the next drop, letting you see moisture patiently build.
That next droplet plummets towards his brother, dry and still relatively alone.
The storm picks up, forcing more drops in a slow but steady form.
They hit the ground forming patterns as they find familiar ground.
The clouds splits further as your reach a known comfort.
The droplets increase to a steady stream, the ground now wet enough for light splashes.
The rain gives embrace, allowing a path from those clouds causation.
The rain hardens, those clouds torn beyond what you can handle.
The droplets disappear into a steady flow as you feel your body being washed over.
Although rain lacks purity, it still runs cleaner than your daily hydrations.
The rain reaches a pinnacle where you can to relax into surrender.
You nestle into the puddle now undistinguished from those early drops.
And eyelids meet as natures hand pulls you into sleep.
The rains succumb coagulated as your conscious has lost its fight.
The clouds empty, their contents surrounding.
Failing to dissolve completely .
The floods are yet to come.
