OUTSIDE xxx ENTERANCE xxxEXAMINATION ROOM

It may look like a zoo, but do not be fooled. This is the most well organized and well run pet shop on the whole island. We sell, buy, breed and fix animals with the utmost professionalism and perfection. Your only job is to show up.

There isn't usually a lot of candy in the front - unless you're an animal. Then there is absolutely any type of treat or accessory imaginable. To be honest, most childern first took the store it as a candy shop and ended up very disappointed.

On a more formal note, the only thing that you need to be aware of are the four main rooms: the enterance for perchases and three examination rooms where the vets do their work.

It was a late monday morning for Ian. He had been up since the early hours of dawn dreading over the first day. So many things could go wrong and so much more money could be lost; however, when Ian entered into the clinic, he pushed all these thoughts aside. He would just have to do his job well and hope to do well. There was nothing else to be done with the human population being so fickle.

Slowly, Ian unlocked the front door and entered into his shop, turning over the front door sign to 'open', although he doubted anyone would come in so early. Still, Ian went to work, feeling each of the pets they had available for purchase. Sure, he had employees to do this, but he had yet to trust them. Better safe than sorry when it came to animal life since people won't pay for anything but perfection.

Sothen Viniva

Making sure to put out his cigarette before entering the colorful realm of the pet shop, Sothen had to do a slight double take to make sure this was a place for animals, and not little kids. If it wasn't for the unmistakeable smell of animal and pet food, the man would have turned right back around and walked out the store. And if that had been the case, his only hope would be to find a stray dog wandering the streets, or some farmer's dog having a litter. He wouldn't have minded a stray; they tended to be strong and a little scrappy. Seeing the poor things wandering around alone tended to remind him of himself, and he sorely missed the one stray he picked up as a young child. And as he recalled his old companion, Sothen clenched his fist; some b*****d had the nerve to capture his dog and use it in a fight! Nonetheless, it was a poor memory for Sothen, and it only strengthened his desire for a dog.

Well, it was best to move on, and what better way than getting a nice companion? He persuaded Priscilla to allow him to keep his dog on her property for the time being, and that was certainly a challenge in itself: she was not fond of animals. "Hello?' Sothen said gruffly, not quite seeing anybody immediately around. "I would like to purchase a dog." He added quietly, trying to hide his accent as best he could as he ran his fingers nervously through his hair. He wasn't sure whether anybody was around to hear him or not, but he figured it didn't hurt to try. To occupy his time, he poked quietly around, looking at every treat imaginable in the shelves; he wasn't even sure if he has ever seen such a variety for humans before! Dogs didn't really need all this colorful fanfare did they? Picking up a bright red ball, Sothen couldn't help but smile a bit; he supposed he could understand the allure of spoiling pets. Still, the farmer placed the ball quickly back down out of habit, he didn't want to be caught holding something he wasn't going to purchase.

Ian was laying down some pelts for a collection of hamsters when he heard a voice call. Swiftly he closed the cage and locked it, laying the food beside the table. His hands took to a white vet's coat that he managed to wrap around himself before exiting into the main enterance.

"I'm sorry, can I help you?" He strolled slowly towards the young man. To get things moving he felt it best to move off of what he had vaguly caught: buying a dog. "Oh, a dog. Yes, any prefered gender, age, type? We have a few in the back if you'd like. Of course I'll need proof that you have a home to keep them in, but we'll save that for after you find one you like." He gave him his most friendly grin he could, which pertained of a modest smile while maintaining his cold and serious eyes. His eyes glanced at a clock and he felt that wasting time making ideal chitter would be useless. Instead, Ian trudged over to the back door of the enterance and opened it for the young man, guesturing him to come through it. If he did, the man would find himself in a room of cages where numerous dogs were kept safe and sound.

Sothen Viniva

Sothen's eyes quickly glanced up towards the direction of the voice, seeing a serious man approaching him. The vet, he presumed, had been busy in the back room doing whatever vets did. He tried not to let himself analyze the appearance of the vet too much, but it was hard not to notice the vet's smile was the only pleased looking thing on his face. Keeping his own face unreadable, he closed the gap between the two men in a few strides, hiding his eagerness to see the dogs. "A medium sized dog would be best." Rubbing his chin, he mulled over the proof he would need to show he had a home to keep the dog in. Sothen didn't have a deed to the house, and he wasn't sure how to prove anything to the man. Priscilla might not be too happy with an uninvited guest, and Sothen was already pushing his luck with her with this dog. "And a dog that doesn't bark too much." He added quietly, quickly walking through the door that was so kindly opened for him.

His back now turned to the vet, Sothen faced rows upon rows of cages containing the canines. A slight smile crept onto his face; who didn't like being in a room full of energetic dogs? He quickly crouched down in front of a cage containing a spirited terrier that instantly tried to gnaw on his index finger. Mumbling a few words in Arabic to the dog, he smiled before looking to the other cages. It would be devastating by this point to walk out of the pet store without a dog in his hands. He was so close..."The age does not matter either; just as long as it is healthy." Sothen said, finally turning back to face the solemn man. He figured the puppies would be snatched up first by people, and it might be best to give an older dog a chance, but not too old. He didn't want to buy a dog and have it die a week later. Or expensive vet bills; he had heard of a few sneaky vets who made the dogs look healthy to trick people into buying them, only having to return every few weeks for expensive treatments and medicine. Hopefully this man will not be the same? Still, Sothen did not show any suspicion in his face as he held out his hand to the dark-haired man. "اعتذار I apologize, I...am Sothen Viniva." He said in a thick accent, stumbling over his words slightly in his embarrassment for not introducing himself earlier. Sothen was often scolded for his lack of social skills, but at least he remembered, and besides, this man didn't really appear to be the talkative type either.

Ian nodded to the man's request with a straight face. He asked for something quite broad which the man was sure he could help with. He hated to judge a man by appearance; however, Ian assumed the man was looking for a pretty sturdy dog. Something that could take a hit or two and keep going. He strolled over to the cages after the man spoke and calmly answered, "Ian Valhal. I'm sure I can find you something." He walked for a moment before stopping before a dog. His black eyes looking into the small cage before looking to Sothen.stu

"Just note that most of our older dogs do come with names. Hard to train a dog without a name, yes? Well this one is Trace. He's three years old. Known to be a bit stubborn if not hardy. His last owner trained him for shows; however, they had to move and couldn't bring him." Ian watched as the stout dog glared out of his cage. Ian had forgotten to walk him for the last couple of days and he just knew that the dog would he hell if he did today. Maybe he would make Sam take him.

The man didn't care to wait for the man. He could see them all he wanted, to Ian moved onto another cage a few feet away. "Now this is Terry. She's four. Very calm and collected but very protective. She was trained to be a guard dog by us here at the center. It's really unfortunate she hadn't found a home yet, but that's life." He waited a few moments to allow the man to move on. He did really like Terry and it would be bitter-sweet goodbye. Ian would miss her but he happy to see her go somewhere good for her.

The last dog was the oldest of the bunch. He had heard a lot of good things from his past owners which Ian felt was good to share, "And this one is shadow. He used to belong to an elderly couple who just couldn't care for him anymore. He's around six and a half. Pretty good shape though and he has a love for food like no other." This is where Ian stopped to await for the man's reaction. There were more dogs if needed but these were a good start at least - or so Ian felt.

Sothen Viniva

"Thank you." Sothen said with a slight nod, following Ian to the first cage, trying to hide his smile as he watched the grumpy looking dog. A nice stubborn canine, Sothen liked him, and better yet, the dog was trained. Although he hoped most of the older dogs would be trained already, as it definitely would make life easier, a little personality with the animal would be great. As soon as he glanced up, the vet had already moved on, and he quickened his pace to keep up. This one, Terry, looked calmer, and had a beautiful coat. Priscilla would like this one, if only for the dog's guard training. Now for the last of the first three. And just like the previous two, Sothen crouched down, and quietly looked at Shadow, listening to what Ian had to say; it seemed he kept good tabs on all the dogs, but then again, that was his job, wasn't it?

Returning to his standing position, he went back a few feet to look at the light colored dog, Trace, again. Something about this dog drew Sothen to him, or perhaps Ian already knew Sothen too well. Was he really that easy to read? He liked to think not, but it didn't really matter, especially in this circumstance. Even though Trace looked sour, Sothen was eager to open the cage and pet the short-haired dog, perhaps his future companion. He wasn't afraid of some dog biting him. "How does the whole, proof of a home work?" He finally said, looking back towards Ian, ready to seal the deal. He had many questions to ask the serious man, but he kept his mouth shut, thinking it was best to not overwhelm him, and that Ian would probably explain everything if he gave him the chance to.

Ian was growing weary of this moment. As the question of a house came up, the vet simply shrugged. "You know what, bring the back dog every once in a while for a check-up, and he's yours. I fear he may not get a home so it simply makes sense to trust you with him. If you cannot make those dates; however, expect an unfriendly visit. Fair?" He looked to the man with a sly smile. It would save him time, and time was very important.
