I really hate the fact that it's by word count. If I was just told the pages, I'd be okay with it (since I'd probably go over). But now I'm just constantly looking at the little word count thing... emotion_donotwant

Exactly! That makes no sense. I think it's more depressing than having a page number to reach. You go hit your word count and realize that you're nowhere near where you have to be. gonk It's just way harder to figure out exactly where your destination is going to be. Not to mention the further up you go no one is going to say "write a paper with this many words". They're going to tell you how many pages to have.

Right! And then I have to exclude the title and all that jazz, which someone lowers the word count A LOT.

rofl I can so imagine that. "Awesome! I've reached max words! Oh, wait...forgot to take out the unusually long title that takes up four lines and the header containing my name, teachers name, date, class, teachers favorite thing to eat, the teachers pet, social security number, my parents names" and whatever else you could think to throw in there. xd

xd There's nothing wrong with having a long title. Scientific papers have long titles with big words. I don't even bother with the header or anything until I've come up with however many pages I need. People in the lower level classes would put their titles in bold and make them large in an effort to take up as much room as possible. That got put to a stop by everyone having to have a title page.

To be honest it is probably 1 or 2 pages without double spacing. More like 1 and a half lol

Yea, I was way off. I was thinking it would be half a page or maybe a little more but, not a whole page.
