──────────────────────────────────── The Sonata family is a rather peculiar one, if only in the children they have produced. From the egotistical and eccentric Gaston, to the equally as eccentric but possibly even more egotistical Reinbach, to the entirely delusional Jessebelle (where did a southern accent from an Italian come from?), it's pretty well established that their parents spoiled them all rotten to the point of no return. It was hell on Sonata Town to have such people in power and they hardly ever will recover from it – well, alone, anyway. The arrival of Donatella Sonata was probably their only chance at ever appeasing the Goddess again or whatever these people believe destroyed them in the first place. The woman couldn't care less and probably will never as she had grown rather immune to having to clean up after her siblings. Donatella, as would be obvious with a look at her, was born from an affair with the pool-boy – but it wasn't as if her step-father was really torn up by it. He had done the same thing countless times to an obvious point – the pair had even begun scheduling when they were allowed to tempt the poor kid and it just so happened her mother had forgotten her birth control that Tuesday afternoon.
Oh, well, the mistake did save their family, in some odd twist of fate. Donatella was never really accepted by her father and her mother could hardly care less about her as she wasn't a son, while her grandmother was too busy paying attention to her older brother. Donatella was basically by herself, especially with the nannies being too busy running back and forth between the soon-to-be baby Reinbach and Jessebelle. However sad the neglect sounds to be, it was perhaps the best thing to ever happen to her as the girl honestly paid attention to her studies and came to respect more than just herself. When it came time for the grandfather to decide on a heir to the family business and they were all tested individually, Donatella was the only one to not utterly flunk the exams. In fact, she did it with a perfect score, impressing her grandfather into naming her as heir despite her origins. She gladly took over the family fast food business when her father died, what with her mother having too much fun marrying whoever walked by for a week.. or hour, depending on her mood. In any case, Donatella did astounding work on her new industry and, as the lard-filled chili fries fattened up thousands of Americans, Donatella took to maintaining her image by the occasional liposuction and tummy tucks.
As she got older and she had arrived to a funeral to find her brother had died of a heart attack, just as her grandfather and father had, the woman became alarmed. Even with the knowledge she wasn't related to the line of males, she still became grossly aware of the risk and went to health food and exercise instead – though, she's more than happy to get a facelift or some collagen before a press conference.. But, none of these really explain how the woman came to be mayor of Sonata Town, does it? Well, a month or so after the funeral had been held, a certain maid gave Donatella a call during a mental breakdown or.. something of that sort, telling the woman that chaos over who got the 'throne' of Sonata Town had broke out. Two of her nieces had mysteriously disappeared, as well as the wife of the man who had died. Some said Lulu had flown the coop and left with some of her children, while others who knew the Sonata to be a, well, Sonata, promptly ignored such a rumor and went on to accuse Reinbach of murder to get the throne. There were even people blaming Lilia, the remaining twin, for being a midget secret agent out to destroy the family – but Donatella hardly paid attention to such absurdities. What she did know was she had one niece left alone with an apparently stalker maid (she never did figure out how Jade got her number..) and her brother. Unwilling to leave such a mess to be, Donatella had flown back to the town, leaving her CEO in charge while she took care of the town and made sure an elephant wouldn't stampede over the town. ..Again..────────────────────────────────────

About: By a marvellous day, when both sun and moon where out, as the great bird of Summer flew over the azure and the lion cried in joy, somewhere, in the deepest part of the west wing of the Sonata Mansion, Donna Sonata was screaming in pain as she gave birth to the one true good thing to ever grace the earth: Reinbach Sonata.
Oh! What a wonderful day it was! A real God was born! Oh, and Reinbach knew exactly his place the moment a cold hair breese chilled his little pink buttuck. Every time he saw someone ugly, that is, who wasn't his mother, he would start screaming at them! Ah, yes, from a young age, little Reinbach already knew that he was special. So special, that he didn't even care to learn about the rest of his family as he grew up, preferring never to leave the west wing and have his hordes of servant do everything for him. Why do something when you can have a servant do it almost just as good? Because God forbid they ever do something better than what Reinbach would be able to do! He would have their heads! Literally. More than one servants had foudn their contracts.... preemptively terminated, but we don't think about those people, they were all NPCs, after all, barely worth mentioning.
Perhaps ue to his seclusion, perhaps due to him being self centred, Reinbach knew nothing of his other 3 siblings, not even that they existed, at least, not until his 24th birthday, when he receive a letter from his brother, Gaston, to be his best man at his wedding. Even without having met, Reinbach immediately felt a brotherly connection with Gaston! This was such a link that two beautiul people shared! Without wasting time, he ordered one of his servants to carry him to his steady white stead, Napoleon, and then ordered 4 more servants to carry them to the little island where his brother ruled like how a God should!
Just like how he had predicted, him and his brothers quickly became the best of friends! They would make parties and festivals in their honours! Everything was just well until... until he met Lulu, the woman that his brother was to take for wife... a... a peasant! A mere little fat peasant! A Goldigger, of course! Seducing his dearest brother! What a wrench! To had insult to the injuries, she went on to produce him two girls. GIRLS! Girls aren't worthy to be heirs to someone as wonderful as his brother's! Especially not half-peasants girls! There was only one thing he could do to save the family's honour, and that was, to produce himself an heir to put on the throne! And so started his quest to find a wife! Through a series of non-consensual abductions and reality television, he finally chose the one and only Shinju Tamaki to be his beloved! And what a woman she was! Quickly into their wedding, she gave him a beautiful boy! Oh, of course he didn't sleep with her. She wasn't high born, so there was no way he was going to soil himself by touching her. No, instead he had servants collect his platinum seeds (gold was so last year) and inject them in her! Of course, the total ammout of such "platinum" was so that there were left overs, and so, to not waste it, a second child was born, this time, a girl. It was just simply wonderful! He could sell her on the black market and make some political wedding using her or something! He would figure it out later, for now, he is too busy training his son to be a God.

About: Shinju's life growing up was never particularly interesting; her mother was a homemaker and her father provided enough for everyone to live comfortably and without worry. Her relationship with her sister had always been tense and resentful, and so when she graduated high school she spent two years traveling the world, just so she could get away. However, when she was 19, her parents died in a car accident, leaving her the sole guardian of the one person she's never truly liked. They moved to Nirvani, where they could possibly try to adjust to their new lifestyle in peace.
She spent the first few years on Nirvani almost frantically working as much as she could with her limited experience, working any entry-level job she could get, just so she could support her sister and nephew. She also attempted to write a novel on her travels, but it got lost in her busy schedule. She hasn't even touched a word processor in years.
Despite a natural responsible personality and an almost OCD-like need to be prompt and to get things done, she's pretty clumsy. She's always forgetting her keys and phone at home, as well as her wallet, and she's a terrible driver.
Her life on Nirvani has been anything but simple. She was hoping to lead a quiet, peaceful life away from the stress of the city, but of course, her crappy luck had to get in the way. Her house got broken into, her sister tricked by an even bigger moron, and then she discovered she was going to be an aunt. From then on, her life revolved around supporting her teenage sister and her preschooler nephew. Shinju had to sacrifice any hopes for a social life, but she was much too busy to notice.
Her life took a further turn for the unfortunate when she caught the attention of Reinbach, the mayor's brother, who wanted to marry her, even though he couldn't even tell the difference between her and a man. After several kidnappings, she had no choice but to accept the fact that she was going to become a Sonata. (She elected to take Sonata as her new last name, not only because she liked how it sounded, but also because she found her new husband's name retarded beyond belief, and absolutely refused to go by it.) She had some distractions, though, like the birth of her son Ferdinand and her daughter January. However, neither have turned out how she had hoped, so she's not particularly close to either of them. Since then, she's just been reluctantly going through life, though anyone would grow accustomed to such a lavish lifestyle after ten years, and she can't imagine working a poor person job again.

About: If there is a family you should want to be borne into, it's the Sonata's. Sure, they might be a bit weird, vain, sheltered, not so bright and delusional, but think about all the money and the easy lifestyle! The servants! The power! Everything! This was the luck that Ferdinando had. His mother, after several "proposal" from the mayor's brother had finally accept to marry him and to give him an heir. Lucky for her, the first child to be pop'd out of her was a male and Reinbach didn't have to off' her head. From the moment, Shinju was free to do whatever she wanted and Reinbach busied himself raising Ferdinando.
But not raising him like you would raise any other child, no! Raising him like you would raise a God! From the moment he was old enough to understand what was happening, Feridnando was shoved books after books to read and learn by heart, he had to learn to dance, paint, sing, play an instrument, speak 24 languages, everything! Unfortunately, perhaps due to the fact that having his father's gene and his mother being related to Kotone, he could never pick up on any of those things. Oh! He did learn to appreciate them, mainly because he had been brainwashed into believing that they were the only important things in the world, but he wouldn't be able to play paint you a house to save his life. This lead to the mixed feeling of him loving everything of art that was beautiful, but hating the artist who did it to be better than him... even though he is only 9.
The day he was born, his father talked his uncle into betrothing Fedinando with his cousin Lilia. This was to make sure that the blood line stayed pure and that two marvellous being like them would be united into the most perfect union ever made! Or so was the official statement. In truth, Reinbach hoped or him to marry Lilia in order to secure the "throne" of Nirvani to someone of the right bloodline, not a girl born from a peasant. Once married, they would execute Lilia and everything would be back in order. Of course, the boy doesn't quite understan all that, other than the fact that his cousin, Lilia, will one day be his wife.

──────────────────────────────────── Several years ago, when Nirvani had just begun it's regeneration into a thriving island, the mayor at the time, Gaston Sonata, had held a deep (or as deep as the man was capable of) affection for a woman in a fellow well-to-do family. Unfortunately, that woman was already taken by another man and had eventually left the island due to some family emergencies – leaving Gaston to look onto her daughter instead. Lulu wasn't the modest, elegant woman her mother was, but Gaston was delusional enough to see it in her every step of the way, all the way through their 'relationship' – which really just consisted of him proposing randomly one masquerade evening. He took in her daughter – Muse – and they lived a semi-happy life running the town, eventually finding that their first product of love came in a pair quite mysteriously! Within that pair, Lilia Sonata was born. The first out of the womb and the first to win her father's affections, she was immediately named heir even with her twin, Eclair, being the better natured of the two. She was spoiled rotten, given everything she ever wanted, and then some as she was paraded around like she was the best child the town could ever hope to produce! And, as far as the girl was concerned, she was and still is.
Lilia Sonata never was top of her class nor was she ever shown to be very talented at much of anything, but she still held the infamous Sonata ego like none other female in the family. Well, that she cared about, at any rate. Now, despite her grades, the girl was never very stupid of a child and it isn't as though she wasn't capable of having any skills – she was rather smart, in fact. But, her own stubbornness that she was always right no matter what often held her back from showcasing that to anyone. Maybe if she had a different principal at school, it would have been easier on the girl, but her often ridiculous arguments as to how the kindergartner knew for a fact that 2 + 2 = 22 and the teacher was just a moron got her in trouble more often than not. Even flashing money at them to get them to shut up and rewrite the textbooks didn't work! Lilia had to settle with accepting that everyone else was too stupid to really see her for the brilliant, perfect princess she was. ...But, the girl was never very good at settling on anything. She still, to this day, drives herself mad with rage everytime she's reminded that someone could be stupid enough to believe her wrong and will do everything in her power to get them to think otherwise. Anything. Just ask what happened to her sisters and mother.
Speaking of family matters, Lilia's parents both were met with untimely demises, as well as her brother and sisters, which left the girl alone. It would be a lie to say she wasn't even slightly distraught by the occurrence, but she quickly got over it when she realized that this left her to be the only heir in the family! Well, outside of her ugly cousin, but she was sure Uncle Reinbach knew better than to think some little.. thing.. like that could ever be head of the family. The girl would never understand why her father and uncle ever thought something worthy of being her fiance could come from a woman like Shinju. But, she supposed no one could be as intelligent and perfect as her!────────────────────────────────────

About: Ahh, January. Her mother, Shinju, had hoped that her only daughter would turn out to be at least remotely normal, but she wasn't so lucky. January is a Sonata, through-and-through. She was born with about a dozen silver spoons in her mouth, and since she could speak, she's been aware that as a Sonata, she's special. Shinju had hoped that her children would have inherited her sense of hard work, but January is the complete opposite of that. Lazy, spoiled, and materialistic, the littlest Sonata sees no point in doing anything a lowly servant could do. In fact, she'd really rather not have to do anything but play dress-up (she's always the queen) and cling to Ferdinando with everything she has. You see, she has no problem with the fact that her brother is the golden child, and she's significantly less important in her father's eyes. But she has been conditioned to view her older brother as a sort of GOD, and idolizing him beyond belief. Not to mention, she has a bit of a childish crush on him, and even though she's quite aware that they're siblings, that doesn't mean that she won't fantasize about being his queen. As such, most other people are unfit to be in his presence, and its her job to make sure they keep their distance. Especially Lilia, whom she views as her ultimate enemy. She's just a little too afraid of the girl to act on it.
