It was not scream
Honestly, Poland was always rocky. Rock bands often made it to the very top of the hit lists. Perhaps not over the recent 20 years, but previously yes. So it finally comes back to "normal".

I'd believe it.
Most of the Metal I've heard from there sounds pretty similar in terms of quality, like they all grew up around it and creating it, or Rock, or something similar. Whether or not thats the actually case is different.

Hey, I didn't know Strommoussheld is from Poland. Poland is awesome, because thats where Strommoussheld is. I'm going to go there now, and find them, and ask them why they haven't released a full-length since 2003, those lazy bastards. mad

Pfft, with the internet and the easy-to-use software that is now available, record companies have become obsolete. You don't need backing from record companies to promote because of all the social networking sites that are devoted to music(see Reverbnation, Soundcloud, etc, including facebook and such too but that isn't aimed towards music). And now for only $400 you can own your own studio pretty much in your bedroom, on your computer. Add another $500 for microphones, and your are set. Thats roughly $900, which is about what you'd spend when producing a record at a real studio anyways, but you can now do it for more than one album. Just send your tracks away to get polished by a professional mastering artist and there you go.(that would be the most expensive part of course).
Laziness. talk2hand
But anyways, that does suck.

I've never recorded one either, but I've done a lot of research.
These days record companies are practically obsolete, they can help, but they are not a necessity like they used to be. Unless you can work up a good deal, which doesn't happen to often, then the record companies end up screwing artists over. Which is why most artists end up starting their own when they get the funds and resources. Which is also why I laugh everytime someone says downloading music is wrong, if anything it only helps because helps put record companies out of business.

Indeed. Live shows get much more payment then album sales.
Or radio/tv song appearance gives that money too.
So yes, popularity is a key.
