Saw someone had a FF7 discussion/assistance deal, so I figured I'd offer one for FF5 and FF5 Advance. After all, it's too awesome of a game not to play and enjoy mrgreen
Omega and Shinryu, along with their upgraded forms in Advance, are among the most difficult Superbosses in any FF due to their ability to spam ridiculously strong attacks, especially Omega.. So, a how-to guide to defeating them, enjoy xd
Omega: Okay, this guy is a butt-nut.. He can blast you repeatedly with various full-party attacks, is weak to Thunder but has auto-Reflect, and can spam your party with status/damage-inflicting attacks until you die if you S-Shot/Rapid Fire him.. How do you beat something like that? Simple: Have your entire party equipped with Flame Rings, these absorb its two main Fire-based attacks and give you a free HP recovery. Having all your characters' Job Classes Mastered is a good idea, have your two strongest attackers armed with the Spellblade and Rapid Fire abilities, and the other two with Time and Mix. Mix an Elixer with a Hi-Potion to give one of your attackers Dragon Power (boosts their level by 20 and power by a whopping amount), and use Hastega. The attackers use one turn each to Spellblade Thundaga, then the next turn to Rapid Fire the bejeezus out of Omega. It only has 55k HP, so if you follow those steps you should be alright. Enjoy your Omega Badge lol xd
Shinryu: This guy isn't quite as spammish as Omega, but he has a Tidal Wave attack that can instant-KO you if you don't equip your whole party with Coral Rings to absorb it for free HP gain XD Mix for another Dragon Power boost, and Spellblade just about anything but Holy (best idea would be to Spellblade Flare), and wail on Shinryu like a mo' until you get your Dragon Seal mrgreen
Omega Mk-2: After fighting your way through about 8 regular Omega inside the Sealed Temple on FF5 Advance, this guy stands poised to smack you around hard, and will if you're not careful. The trick to beating this guy is to use the same tactics against a regular Omega, but have Reflect on your entire party and routinely use Scan to determine his Weakness as it changes, Spellblade accordingly, and smack-a-b* XD
Neo Shinryu: My God, this guy is a pain.. He's susceptible to Old, though it's a slim chance but one recommended to take.. Use the same tactics you would vs. Shinryu, but do NOT use multi-target attacks like Rapid Fire because he has "dead spots" that can take your attacks instead of him.. Having Dragon Lances/Lance of Longinus dual-wielded with Jump is the best move, and of course don't forget your Coral Rings because just like with Shinryu, Neo-S has a high probability of starting the fight attacking with Tsunami to 1-hit KO you.
Hopefully that helps, any more questions feel free to ask, Blue Mages win games mrgreen

Wilson357 FFV is the only one I have not played yet nor seen it. Is it out in NA? It's been out in NA for some time, as the GBA version though, the original is either Japanese or the original NA release of FF2 (just like FF6 was released as FF3). I play FF5A all the time though lol.. Best chance to find FF5 Advance is either Gamestop or eBay though, it's as hard to find as many of the other handheld GBA/DS FF titles
