Just an off the wall question because I don't know the answer; Does the name Satan predate Christianity? In other words is there an ancient religion that worshiped a god named Satan? Did Christianity steal the name like they did with so many other things, for example most people can easily see the similarities between the physical description of Satan and the Greek god Pan. The Christians stole the image and applied it to their arch devil, so maybe the name was borrowed as well. I'm not saying it was, just asking if anyone had ever heard of it.

Nyx Reborn I know its Hebrew, http://www.eliyah.com/cgi-bin/strongs.cgi?file=hebrewlexicon&isindex=Satan but I believe they are referring to Lucifer, I may be wrong. Interesting, that def makes satan sound more like a title than a name.
