The low brass following people and alternating notes for each each step the person took.

Then hearing that stupid (yet helpful) gock block in my ears even though i left band camp 3 hours ago and I'm in my house.

And of course SECTION OF THE DAY! Woot!

We found out how much our new director hates bugs. One was in her hair and she squealed like a little girl and ran around shaking. it was hilarious.

The clarients got a cockroach sectionmate during sectionals.

My weird zebra sunburn...

Actually getting along with one fo the girls I didn't get along with last year.

Saxamaphones(to the tune of beethoven's fifth)

Section lunches, which include games of Telphone and Big Booty.

(i haven't had band "retreat" yet so i'll put stuff from my 4 years of HS band camp)
~senior year: when the "clinician" (aka the DM from my freshman year) was about to start calling a drill down and his voice cracked really bad and the whole band was trying and failing not to laugh because technically we were at attention
~freshman year: when our team was the blue team, also with "jazz" as the team (each team had a genre) and we drew a giant whale on our team poster. because whales have everything to do with jazz...right?
~senior year again: when our team was "purlue" (color combos that year lol) and everyone made fun of how stupid our name was...and then we had the most points every day. except of course the last one when it counted.
~senior: when i got this super shy really naive little freshman boy on my team to wear a girl's dress over his clothes for team color day (well it might have been a shirt...but on him it was definitely a dress lol)
~when we were having basically an inspirational lecture from the BD and he was trying to make a point about something and said "now how many of you have had misunderstandings with your parents?" we all raised our hands, and then the guard coach's 1-year-old daughter raised her hand.

maybe i'll post more after retreat, but that won't be for a while. the band camp discussions will be over by then. (*mutter* stupid quarter system *mutter mutter*)

Ooooh, last year.

funny:
-our dm's voice cracking while calling us to attention. At the end of band camp parent performance.
-Saxaphone sl passing out the first day, and even her twin sister thinking she had just tripped because of the goofy look on her face.
-Shoe farts and pulling my single freshman out of his shell(intertwined)
-Last day ghost stories during sectionals.
-"Jordan, where are you going?" (Freshman sliding on his butt across the room during sectionals) "I'm going to the dark side! Its funner over there!"

Good:
-hour long drilldown. Seriously,it took half an hour to get the first person out

Bad:
-Ms. Harris -_-
-The Sunshine dance. Courtesy of harris
-Lack of respect from my section while I was sl.
-Tim. Enough said...-_-

Freshman year:
Sneaking a junior guy into my cabin at night and laying next to him while he slept. Lol. My suicidal friend. Awkward boy moments and a girl who hated me for a while. Exchanging of journals. Meeting my boyfriend.

Sophomore year:
State competitors. Showing up everybody who thought we weren't going to make it at Pigskin. Marching in the rain. <3 There was this one time where it was raining everywhere else EXCEPT our marching field so our band director scolded us by saying, "See?! Even God wants you to get this right!" A minute later rain poured down on us. Hard. Lol. We were all cracking up.

Junior year:
Bad section leader. Bus rides with my bus buddy. <3 Fifth in the state at the TMEA Honor Band competition. Playing the Rite of Spring. [[Damn that piece is HARD.]] Long practices on the Rite of Spring. Band party in the BH.

Senior year:
That backstabbing b***h in pit I absolutely hate. The two-timing boyfriend. New friends. New enemies. Band drama. Finally dragging my best friend into marching season with me. Trips to San Antonio for BOA, State, and Area. My airhead moments with my best friend and section. Being section leader. That little bit of Niagra Falls and Forza Del Destino I got to play before I quit.

Sophomore Year (Stevie Wonder):
22 new girls in guard. First time sweating from my legs. My stalker boyfriend (now ex) sitting in at drill and being asked to leave. Falling for my first boyfriend (for the 5th time). My schwetah buddy. Trying not to hit the sousaphones with my flag. Guard being made fun of because we had gotten a new coach 2 days before our practices, and she had to teach it to us within a week- she took awhile with stretches, across the floors, and fooling around with all her friends she brought along. Cone, cone, hit, hit. My "nephew" calling me when my phone was in my bra. Marching. Having to stand still for the first 2 songs because we were too messy (ashamed). Being made fun of even more. Dropping. Fake make-out sessions between my "nephew" and first boyfriend. TANG.

Junior Year (Woodstock):
STILL 25 girls. Finally got rifles. We'll be able to use more than one flag. Hippie name: Lyric. Dancing for a 70 second song. Having tye-dye and picket sign style flags. "I just twirled around you. How do you feel about that?" Using flower while dancing. "Sorry girls, I don't date band chicks." Sticking the flower in a rifle... sort of. "Haaapy birthday, princess!" Coach's 4 year-old daughter interrupting her dance video for the 70 second song.
There are still more to come. The season only just started.

Well, Freshman year we had a "Monster" Theme. One of our fav songs was Frankenstein. I think the thing I remember the most is probably how much ated playing Phantasm, and how much I loved my uniform (and still do!)

This year, our theme was Top Gun (TOP GUN!!! ((sorry, impulse!))) and my favorite memory of this season is of how whenever we would be in the stands at competitions, we'd be the loudest proudest group. We'd always dance and sing and stuff (but not while others were performing). Our band director outlawed "Swag" after we started to say it. To tell the truth, I kind of thought this year was sort of sad though. (personal reasons) But I loved it anyway!

My college's mascot is the mustang. During the fight song, we're supposed to yell "M!U!S!T!A!N!G!S!" My friend yelled "M!U!G!T!Y!" then thought "What the heck am I spelling?"

Soooo many memories... One of my favourite? Almost getting my cabin burt down by two tuba players and a home-made flame thrower... 4laugh
Staying up late and running around the dark camp like idiots.
Going down to the beach-lake-thing to swim on our down-time...
Water balloon fights, and bombing our drum major and teachers.
The big camp fire on the last day of camp...
And, of course, bonding as a big, nerdy, band-geek family!! heart

We all got in a circle during a break from marching practice.
And someone started with "Snape....Snape...Severius Snape..."
We had the whole song going.

And Gatorade. Lots....of gatorade.

Some dude from a college nearby was at my high school last year and I was there being tormented by him, while he was section leader of the low brass. This year when we had our 'band camp' and I was SL, he made a bad impression of me in front of the freshman. As soon as I get myself into the same college as he is (which is unavoidable, sad to say) I might use whatever leftover scholarship money to get a restraining order against him... Good times. Oh, and for some UNGODLY REASON, I owe him $200 for repair to his stupid tuba, which I ACCIDENTLY tipped my Baritone on... His mother got on my case, and yeah...

Mm a lot of good memories but most of them are school specific and

inside jokes so I won't bore you with those. Probably the funniest memory I can tell you without insider knowledge needed is this one:

One of our trumpet players didn't have a right arm from his elbow down so he had a fake one. He liked to freak out the new color guard when we would run laps while they were warming up. He'd "fall" and have his "arm" twist all funny and we'd all scream like it was tragic. The new girls would flip out. It was fantastic. I miss that kid.

This one want from band camp but it is soo funny. My band director in the bleachers during practice and the trumpets didn't know their music so the messed up and she said trumpets if you mess up one more time I will cut you like a minuet later after we were all done laughing our butts off she said from the show. It was so funny and we all make fun of her for it and it is just a great memory that will always be in my life when ever I think of band. smile
