Leaves rustled softly as the trees sang a quiet, whispery melody, aided by the wind. Quiet reigned in the glade save for the occasional hoot of an owl and the faint song of the woods. The only illumination came from the crescent moon above, bringing a little illumination to the darkness of night. Even the stars had hidden themselves. Breathing in deeply, Theo let the fire balls floating around him expand, carefully controlling them as they grew in size. The ghostly blue flames flickered, lighting up Theo’s face in the most eerie manner possible with the unearthly blue light. His eyes glimmered, shining brightly in the dark. His skin had a blue cast to it, making him look even stranger and more unearthly than he already did with the horns. Exhaling, he watched as the fire dim with his breathing. Slowly, he began to move the fire in a slow circle, dancing around him in an ever increasing tempo. The whizzed around him, slowly expanding until they lit up the whole glade. Suddenly, he stopped it. The fire hovered there mid-air, suspended as Theo slowly exhaled and let the flames dissipate.
Control was important with his magic. If he were not careful, the consequences were dire. As it was with all elemental magic. If not appropriately trained, the witch could kill someone just because they lacked any sort of control. But through painstaking practice, Theo had learned control. It had been a long road, but he had learned after many painful mistakes. Even now, he was still learning, slowly pushing the boundaries of his control. It was safe here, where it was large and open. Even if it was in the middle of a forest, there was enough space so that Theo couldn’t really harm anyone or anything if he lost control. Which was why this had remained his training spot up until now. The was secluded, wide, open and he could see anyone or anything coming towards him unless they were coming from above.
Tapping into his magic once more, Theo let a tiny flame build up in his hands, slowly growing in size until it was larger than his head. Sure, it lit up the entire clearing but who was there to see him? No one. Save for the animals of the forest, he doubted anyone knew of this place. Concentrating, Theo lost himself in pushing the boundaries of his control over the twisting leaping fire he adored so.

The cool night breeze felt good blowing against her feathers. Myst had a reputation as a reaper for being ruthless to any majin or enemy that came her way. Due to her tragic childhood a big part of her showed great hatred to majins. That it almost seemed a bit obsessive to others. Every time the reaper was alone, the tragedy would replay in her mind, a never ending loop of nightmares of how the monster had taken her family away from her. And then... *Crack.* Twigs breaking not too far from where she was. "Who could be out at this time of the night...?" And there it was, a young boy in blue who seemed to be in a hurry had come running past from underneath her resting place. A possible majin perhaps? It was a bit suspicious for such a young witch to be out deep in the forest at such a late hour.
After stalking him, they came to a stop to an empty clearing in the middle of the forest. Nothing has happened so far but she was intrigued, waiting to see what the boy will do next. Besides for what seemed to be a bit of late training. The boy showed some potential but had still lacked control over his growing powers.
She could already sense him losing grip on his blue flames and watched as it grew slowly, knowing already what was to come after. Then a burst of blue flames lit up the forest then darkness came once again.
Myst flew down to the area where her little witch companion had fell. He seemed to be unconscious. She flew down to examine his face carefully. "Hmmm..." she thought when she came to notice his horns, her eyes glowing bright yellow in the darkness. Myst felt very puzzled and bombarded with questions. What is he? Her head then turned, to the boys arm. It was deformed and much larger than the other. The question came to her again. What is he? "A mononoke? No..A majin...?" Seemed to be the only plausible answer she could think of.
She then began to gently peck on his cheek with her beak in hopes that he would come to.

The sensation of pecking greeted him as he felt his fuzzy brain registered it. His head felt as if someone had replaced everything with cotton and was now doing their best to squeeze all the cotton out. Pushing himself up into a sitting position, he fell back down again, clearly in no condition to sit up. He wouldn't be able to sit up until his blood was flowing properly once more. Gingerly, he rubbed his temples and they protested with a painful throbbing inside his head, making him wince. He tried to geather his thoughts, but they darted everywhere, refusing to be caught and dancing tantalizingly out of reach.
He wasn't even aware that he'd strained himself until he'd passed out. A blurry shape and two piercing golden orbs regarded him as he his head was spinning and groggy. He felt almost too weak to get up, but he pushed himself into a sitting position, almost collapsing again. But this time he stayed up, sheer force of will keeping him upright as his head screamed protests and the blood pounded through his veins. Looking again, he realized that there was an owl in front of him, its golden eyes full of something else beyond what a normal owl would have. Was it perhaps... a mononoke?
"Are you a mononoke?" Theo asked, his voice coming out strangely, awkwardly. His tongue tripped over the words, and he wasn''t sure if they were even coherent. He cursed himself for pushing too hard, now that his body was punishing him. It hurt too much to think. In fact, it hurt too much to do anything. It was so tempting to pass out again, but if he did, he may not wake up. That was dangerous. Muttering curses, he brought his knees up and rested his head on them, trying to get rid of the nauseous sensation that was assaulting him at the moment.
All he needed was something to eat to ground him again right? Did he bring anything with him? Usually he did, but he wasn't too sure now. Another painful throb told him to stop wracking his brain for answers. "Ugh." He let out a soft complaint, clearly in no condition to do anything yet. Not until he had recovered at least.
